Brunhilde SbS with a Brunhilde MTL rta.

It's an excellent quality SbS that won't cost you an arm, a leg or your first born. Like the Aspire Mixx it was CNC'ed from a single block of aluminum. Can take an 18650, 20700 or a 21700. I've had mine for a while now, no issues whatsoever.

Both bigbob2322 and hittman recently posted their reviews. :thumb:

And since it's not "High-End" (COUGH!), it probably won't even require one of those got-awful 510 protectors to keep it from drowning.

I just love how many of the modders are now including those stupid things in the package with their mods. THAT speaks volumes.

Jaded, aye (aye-yai-yai).

You must mean those costly high end plastic SBS's that are the current rage. ;) I could buy 3-4 Dovpo College DNA 60 SbS's for the price of one of those. Or 6-8 Aspire Mixxes. The Brunhilde SbS shipped with a couple of those 510 protectors. I left them in the box.

I only use those on mods that have a nicely painted finish that I don't want an atty swirl messin' with the paint job. Wish they would have had those years ago for the '72 Grand Prix that I no longer have (and like an azz should have kept ).

Bingo, SMT! Some of them are really nice, but when they can't handle the same atties that my $20 mods can handle, welp, we've got us a problemo. It seems like a new one drops every 20 minutes lately too, which also doesn't help.

I understand that the company who made the sealed 510s went out of business, but why is it that the stuff coming from China seems to be absolutely fine (Mixxes, anything Innokin, etc.), while a $400 mod wants me to be particular with atties? Yeah, um - NOPE!

I doubt the Bruni even needs it, so I'm almost surprised they included one. Probably just because everyone else is doing it, and they may not have even understood why. Crazy daze.

I doubt I'll be buying many more mods, but I know this much, qualifier #1 is now that it must come from Innokin (for me). No matter how much I like something's looks, no chance I'm dropping coin on something I can't trust. I wouldn't do it 10 years ago (Provari or Go Home), and I won't do it now. Ironically, it's now the LESS expensive stuff that's more reliable. Go freakin' figure.

Yep. Ya shoulda kept that Grand Prix too. If we only knew then what we know now, as someone once said. :thumb:

Right on! Like you, I wish Innokin would come out with a SbS mod. I'd be all over that, times 2.

The Grand Prix and I... oh the stories. And a speeding ticket or two (or). But it went fast and I did like that, a lot.

Like you (part 2 ;)) I'm set with gear. Honestly don't need any more.

But... (there is always a but isn't there?).

We're vapers who love new toys. Just super fussy these days. We've evolved to The More Discriminating Category (sensible). :D

@ShowMeTwice ,
I couldn't find any information about the weight of the mod only. I wonder about weight comparison between mixx/paramour/brunhilde.

I didn't like Mixx because there is no USB port and read some comments about Paramour's loosening 510(even with revised version). Then i ordered Brunhilde. :)
The Paramour is a total piece of :censored:ing crap. No other way to say it and I certainly won't sugar coat it. Mine had the problem with the 510. Threw it back in it's box. I can easily fix it, but it never should come down to a customer having to fix a piss poor lousy product design.

The Mixx. Why do you think you need a USB port on it? You don't. IMO, and the opinions of many members here (including Mooch), it is best to charge your batteries in an external charger. The Mixx is one of the better SbS's around. It's CNC'ed from a single block of aluminum. It is what many SbS's should be as far as high quality. Heck, I've seen them for around thirty five bucks lately.

The Brunhilde is a quality SbS. Also CNC'ed from a single block of aluminum.

Having said all that... my favorite SbS mod is the Dovpo College DNA 60. I have a couple. They are high quality all around. Those are still available. Someone just had a sale on them recently, was around $60 IIRC.

I don't have any Dovpo College mods, but I seen them for $49.99 at HealthCabin. I am not sure if you have to be at a certain customer level or not to see this deal. Shipping is usually about 10 bucks.

USB port is necessary even i use it once a year. Do you have any info about weight of Brunhilde. There is no single info about it.

The Brunhilde SBS weights 153 grams with no battery inserted and the battery sleeve inside, 145 grams with no sleeve inside. You will really like it:thumb:

I've concluded an extensive self-examination relating to exactly what's best for me from the SbS market. Letting nature be my guide, I loaded up all the SbS mods I have, and monitored which one or ones I grabbed for continuously.

Interestingly, but not necessarily surprisingly, it turns out that my taste lean towards the simpler options.

So, the ones I'm keeping, and will continue using as I've been are:

    • XvoSticks (keeping 2 of 2) - My original SbS is still my favorite. Some have challenged over the years, but all things considered, they're simply irreplaceable for me. Sealed 510s, amazingly durable finish, and my introduction to both SbS' and a front/low button (which turned out to be my favorite placement for all mods, ever).
    • Union 3.0 (keeping 1 of 1) - Plastic, but a durable variation, amazingly light, and an absolute joy to use. The DNA60 is an excellent chip for me too, as it's easy to use and relates well to my simple needs (wattage only). Plus, it's got my favorite battery cap ever, in any mod. If it had a front button instead of top, this one might have pushed the Xvos off the top platform. But a silver medal ain't nothin' to sneeze at, so there's that.
    • DamnMods Warlock (keeping 1 of 2) - Small, thin, light, and quite enjoyable to use. I'm keeping the DNA one, again, for its simplicity. Downside is that it's a printed mod, and does pickup little cracks and what-not. I considered getting rid of both but am 90% certain that the DNA will stay.
SbS aficionados would laugh at these choices ("Get off my lawn!"), but vaping remains a personal issue, and I can't change what I feel just to be "cool".

At some point I'll get off my rear and do something with the couple/few stragglers. With me, it will happen impulsively (been here, done this). One took care of itself as it was returned to the modder for repairs almost a year ago, never to be returned (such is the life of a vaper) :|.

Here's to my winners. Long may they wave. Happy weekend, all, and good luck with the SbS hunts!

I got rid of my Xvostick a looooooong time ago, and swore I'd never own another SBS. Between the Xvostick, the Athena, and the Knight... well, I just ended up hating the very thing I originally bought them for... the cage to protect the tanks. Cleaning out the 510 when a tank inevitably leaked before it the leak destroyed the chip or the finish or the 510 was SUCH a PITA.

Jump forward 5 years, and I have an Ambition Easy SBS, a Paramour, a Mixx, and a Supbox (currently in boro mode). I'm kinda liking them again...

I did the same thing with my BB... had one, parted with it, now have another one, and a secondary boro device. Oh, and a DotAIO, a Prime X, a Kylin M AII, and a couple more whose name I forget.

I guess I'm fickle that way.

My original XvoStick is still at the top of my most used mods. I did get burned on the newest generation of Xvo (did get refunded though). It's now paired with a GP Heron V2 that I managed to snag from an ECF member that came across an old WTB post of mine. It's a wonderful pairing!

Agreed that the initial run was superior. Mine were ordered on 4-Jul-2015, which I NEVER do (order before they've ever seen a vaper's hand), and we waited...

After some hiccups, we've never looked back. One of the better vape investment we made over the years.

I'm REALLY GLAD that they finally took care of you with that recent debacle. As tempting as they are at the current price point, there's zero chance I'll ever deal directly with them again.

I have two College's. But, that $49.99 price at HC was too hard to pass on. I ordered another one. I'm pretty sure $49.99 for he DNA 60 College SbS is cheaper than what I could purchase a spare Evolv DNA 60 chip and screen for.

Thanks for posting the Health Cabin info. :thumb:

The College has no screen? I didn't know that.

How do you know the wattage?

I'm sorry, yes it has a screen on the bottom. I meant that getting another College DNA 60 mod for $49.99 is cheaper than I could purchase a spare Evolv DNA 60 board and screen.

It took awhile, but they finally come through with the refund. I have quite a few devices from them and they are all solid and I won't part with them, but I won't buy anything else from them

Wasn't it over a year (or something crazy like that)? They make fantastic mods. They're just unfamiliar with the concepts associated with customer service.

GOT IT! Yes - makes sense. I actually like a bottom screen. Doesn't require additional real estate up top, and it's not like I'm looking at it with every toke.

Yep, roughly 13 months. I *might* be tempted if I come across one second-hand, but I won't buy anything directly from them again
