How about this with a 1 ohm coil.http://greatlakesvapor.com/image/cache/data/supermini2-228x228.jpg
I have the 5 volt and the 3.7 mini and the 3.7 super mini.

sam, as much as I adore the GLV, I think we'll just leave the list for "V" mods (variable) for now. Thank you tho!

I'm removing the SD Keyring for the same reason, tho it IS too cute. (And thanks again for that one, dgm.) You guys may want to bookmark the link for future reference.

I just picked up an istick mini for stealth use when I fly (I spend a LOT of time on airplanes! Pulling out the giant SVD tends to get scary for the other flyers!)

It's already on the list, but I thought I'd throw down a pic for what little-itty-bitty looks like!! (has a standard size Aerotank topper)

iStick Mini.jpg

Here it is in hand:

Size. That age-old question. Does it matter? It often matters more to ladies than to men. Though machismo often leads men to compare and compete. Mine's bigger than yours...

Yes, I'm talking about APVs. Get your minds out of the gutter. Until we hold a mod in our hands, we often don't know what is ideal for us. I dated a girl in college who was 4'11", barely 100 lbs and wore a lady's Small glove. I am 6'2", 180 lbs and wear a man's L - XL. It's not the size that counts. It's the fit.

Size also has it's trade-offs. The larger APVs usually utilize larger/longer-lasting batteries and often have higher performance. Where do we compromise?

Every APV is different and has it's own feel. If we went strictly on the volume of the enclosure (the only empirical way to measure 3D objects), the P3 in 18350 mode might win with a mere 36977mm³. But that 18350 doesn't power the P3 for long. The iStick is 51660mm³. It's pretty tiny. But it's twice the size of the iStick Mini (25662mm³), with twice the Ah, more features and twice the performance.

So we look to fit and feel; form-factor; button, screen & USB placement; battery life; performance; price and "pass-through" capabilities to determine our "ideal" mod, based on how and what we vape and our budget.

Based on volume alone, we have clear winners & losers:

iStick Mini----------------25662mm³
ProVari P3 (18350)----36977mm³
P3 (18650)--------------50688mm³
20W iStick---------------51660mm³
VS DNA------------------52972mm³
VAMO v5-----------------53219mm³
iStick 30W---------------57558mm³ (Although misleading because only the top-cap is 23mm deep, the rest 21mm deep)
Cloupor Mini-------------61380mm³
XPro M-Series----------71060mm³
Sigelei Mini 30W--------71518mm³
VS rDNA------------------84404mm³
50W iStick---------------85905mm³
iPV Mini-------------------86480mm³
MVP20W-----------------95314mm³
Cloupor DNA 30-------108758mm³
150W iPV3--------------142485mm³

Does this mean the iStick Mini is better than a Cloupor Mini or the 18650 P3 better than VS rDNA 40? Each of us has different priorities. Some pay more attention to height than they do width. I don't want to carry the 18650 P3 around with me at 122mm tall. Yet it's "smaller" than an iStick. I don't like the 90+mm height of the Sigelei Mini. Yet it's "smaller" than the VS rDNA.

The takeaway? Try to hold a mod in our hand before we buy it. At the very least, know our preferences in height, width and depth. The mod we reach for the most probably has less to do with overall size and much more to do with fit, feel and performance. It's not the size, folks. It's how we use it. ;)

Not sure if the IPV4 should be on the list. it's dimensions are 8.5 x 5.25 x 1.5in. or 215mm x 133mm x 38mm . It holds 2 18650 batteries.

Also, i keep forgetting to ask you to add this one to the list: https://www.fasttech.com/products/3032/10007864/1952702 it is th Hana mini clone from Fasttech, or H-ANA Mini

The iPV4 is one of the largest APVs produced @ 1,086,810mm³. I don't think it begins to qualify for the mini category, let alone the "itty bitty". Though the Hana-Mini clone, at less than 80000mm³ probably fits "Mini" status.

@aledenf - That's a great post! The reality is that different form factors fill different needs. I bought the iStick mini for a specific use (stealth). But I also recently bought a Cloupor mini for every day mobile use and chose it for it's small box form factor and most important, use of easily changeable 18650 batteries. It was one of the smallest box mods to told those batts. My SVD and Vamo are used for home vaping and I don't care if it looks like a John Holmes marital aid. My wife has gotten over the sheer fright of it sizeable presence.

Kat - I'm really glad you did this thread. there are so many folks that are looking at smaller mods and your efforts make it Sooooo much easier to see what's out there without searching the entire world wide web for data (as I had to!). Thanks again!!!

My intent was to first start with the general categories of small and under $100. As time goes on, I'm sure that information will be added to updated lists. As people contribute what they know, I'll do my best to stay on top of the info.

Kat...I LOVE your list...but it seems to be becoming somewhat unwieldy.

When you posted your first list (in the iStick forum) I saw it as a "so you love the size/comfortable grip of your iStick...what other small MODS might you want to consider before getting a 2nd (or 3rd) (or 4th) iStick".

If I didn't misread your "intention"...then maybe you ought to consider instituting some "size limits".

The original "small/comfortable" iSticks were (all in mm):

20Watt-iStick 21 X 32.8 X 75

30Watt-iStick 23 X 32.5 X 77

while some on your list are "much" bigger than the iSticks:

Sigelei Mini 22 X 36 X 90.3

IPV Mini 23 X 40 X 94

50Watt-iStick 23 X 45 X 83

ZERO Modz Style 25 X 45 X 82.5

Vision Vapros iBox 18.4 X 54 X 94.5

Just a thought...

That is my fault for suggesting it. Going by the pics I have seen it looked pretty small for a dual 18650. Guess the pics are deceiving.

Chipotle.
Le petit gros is 56mm (18350) iirc... Off by one.

Lenght: 57.00mm
Diameter: 23.40mm
Weight: 75g.

And it also recesses the mount into a sleeve so you shave 10mm or so off the RBA
If you pay attention to my link, the Little Greek is a VW mod, not a mechanical mod like the La Petit. The smallest 18350 mech mod I am aware of is the 45mm tall Fortune by Fortune mods. Since we were talking about VW, I linked the smallest VW tube mod and not a mechanical. :)

OM'Gawd...... what have I done!

Our list is getting unwieldy, gerrymi? Perhaps so, but with each suggestion, it doth grow. I guess that's the nature of the beast. I'm happy to be flexible and include or exclude as all of you wish. I do like your idea of focusing primarily on the sizes.

I see we are not all going to agree on this project. I'm shaking my head because I have no dog in the fight/horse in the race/brain in my head. ;)

I'm pleased to continue this, but I realize not everyone will be happy or agree.

I loved your post, alden. (I most normally do in fact, as you know.) Perhaps the best way to deal with the size issue is to have you all measure your hands and see what might be a small itty bitty to YOU. I don't know what else to do here. I do not really want to impose size limits. That's up to each of you in terms of what would be a good fit for you. This is not a simple task, by the way.

Then again, Msand and gerrymi brought up a valid point, and one worth considering. This did all start as a list that included the sort of "competitors" to the iStick. Perhaps we SHOULD only include those that at least close in dimensions. Now that I see the dimensions for the IPV4, I'm inclined to agree that it should not be on the list.

Ok, so. Please let's do this: When you recommend a mod to add to our existing list, please provide the dimensions. How much increase above and beyond the original iStick 20w we'll allow? I DON'T KNOW!! Maybe it WILL just have to be me who makes that final call...

... or the next torch holder. ;)

Perhaps I can call on you, alden, to work up the math for me in terms of the volume of the enclosures?

(Anyone got an Advil?)

(forget the Advil. I would like a nice Grey Goose and Tonic. Lemon wedge.) ;)

No faults, and no failures here. Your suggestions are appreciated!

We're all doing this together, and learning as we go. Much like all of our vape lives, eh? :)
