The more I read, the more I think he wasn't using tenergy's when stacking to get up to 6v...
Next questtion, if the incident happened in Florida and the guy lives in Florida why is he in a hospital in Alabama?
Another odd thing as quoted from AP "The battery flew out of the tube and set the closet on fire."
So obviously it was a device with a single battery. The electronic cigars that I have use a 10440 battery, we are more familiar with 2 batteries being stacked to explode or if it was an ecig, was it the battery that flew out of the metal housing of a pen style ecig?
funny thing is, cigarettes have damaged and fatally killed millions, and the e-cig just has 1 casualty, lol.
Thomas Kiklas, co-founder of the Tobacco Vapor Electronic Cigarette Assn. told The Times that he believes the device that Holloway used was not the commonly sold kind, but a specially modified device designed to give the user a turbo-charged blast of nicotine. (He likened it to the difference between a push lawn mower and a gasoline-charged lawnmower.) He said on his site that it is too soon to jump to any conclusion about possible product failure.
Not sure if this new info has been posted in this ever-growing giant thread, but here is a new development (I think) on this guys device
Have any of you heard of such a thing? A nicotine blast? This is sounding more and more like the perfect bait for the FDA to finally regulate or ban ecigs, they can use this 'nicotine blast' as a scare tactic to explain how ecigs have such potential for overdose and dangerous use, and along with the battery exploding, its just what they need to put a cap on this.
Now that's not fair.
Some people just can't get by with 'run of the mill' vaping.
They NEED the iPhone 4S of mods.
Real men don't vape girly e-cigs![]()
Lithium does not explode, they just vent then catch on fire.
Go read the best post I have ever read on ECF (even my posts can't hold a candle to this one)

I disagree with him saying Ego's don't explode.. There is video and photographic proof all over the forums.. I'd say Ego/Ego Clones have failed more than any other battery do to the shear numbers sold and used.
Also from what I've read most of the ego failures have been of the "bottle rocket" type as opposed to the "grenade" type. While neither is desirable I think the actual sudden, grenade type explosion is what you'd worry the most about.I think that he was referring exploding in the mouth. All the Ego explosions that I have read about were on the charger. Do you know of others?
