I truly must admit I do not have clue how that device works. I have been mixing my juice a long time but, I have no idea how that device works. I thought I was an old school vaper. A lot of you guys must have started before I did. Happy New Year!

It looks like a tiny electric mixer - I assume to stir your e-liquid with it, but why anyone would use it instead of just shaking the bottle is beyond me.

I am been making my own e-liquid for 11 years now, though for the last few years I have given us on flavored e-liquids altogether, and now just mix mine by taking one third 100mg/ml nicotine in a pg base and mixing it with 2/3s VG, and for me that is the perfect e-liquid.

I just use a regular scale with my 600 flavors. I always have enough ready that steeping doesn’t bother me. I’m not sure what that white box is.
I have a lot of flavorings, not 600. You must have spent a fortune. Out of PG, VG, & nicotine buying flavorings was the most expensive. I can't tell you how many flavorings I have purchased I still can't find a recipe for. LOL

I never really kept track of how much I’ve spent but almost always take advantage of sales at BCF. I’ve ordered from Chef’s a handful of times and a few other places. Also, there are new flavors coming out all the time so I’ve added quite a few different brands over the years that I’ve been mixing. I don’t know for sure but think I’ve been mixing for 3-4 years.

The one thing we did right was to invest in this instead of cigarettes. I smoked for years, I had to have open-heart surgery because of it. Vaping saved me. I can't believe some politicians want to outlaw vaping but, not cigarettes. I have mostly exclusively bought from Bull City Flavors they have what I want and better prices.

I never took the bans seriously until this last time. I started mixing because my favorite vendor went out of business. I started really stockpiling the last year and a half or so. I bought a freezer and have nine liters which are soon to be ten of 100mg nic that should last the rest of my life. I’m sure flavors will be available since they are used for baking and pg and vg are used for many things. Between the hardware I’ve purchased and what I’ve accumulated doing reviews, I could not buy anything again and never run out. This is what our government has pushed me into.

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Let’s get back to the fun stuff.

You said get back to the fun stuff. I have strong (negative) feelings about the government also. I have a stockpile of stuff also. Not as much as you do My stockpile should last me about 2 years. I don't believe we will ever be unable to make our own juice (assuming they don't outlaw nicotine) I do wonder if ecig devices will remain available. Maybe I should buy some I don't need today. You didn't hijack anything, I have enjoyed sharing thoughts with you.

In the early days of DIY I mixed 250ml batches. This vintage wand mixer was the right size and shape to sit on top of a 250ml flask so I didn't have to babysit it while it mixed the contents in the flask.

I just use a regular scale with my 600 flavors. I always have enough ready that steeping doesn’t bother me. I’m not sure what that white box is.

It's a magnetic stir plate that a gent in Latvia made for me. The later years I mostly made 120ml batches of DIY instead on it. Using a scale to weigh the ingredients, and because I also blend my own flavor 'one-shots' ahead of time that are already 'married', making a batch only takes a few minutes. The stir plate blends the base VG/PG and one-shot in short order for a stir and vape juice that was ready for me to vape.

I’ve also made one shots in the past for some recipes. So in your opinion, they don’t need to steep once nic and vg and pg are added?

Everything in vaping is subjective to the individual, so I can't speak for anyone other than myself. I can say that it was my experience though that the stir plate was so thorough at blending the one shots (that had already aged together) into the base so evenly that the flavor was stellar from the first time I vaped them after they were stirred.

I never used nic at all in my DIY, so can not comment from experience on what effect(s) it might have on flavor or aging.

So you don’t use nic at all? Maybe that makes a difference.

As I said, I have never added nic to any of my DIY. I don't know if that is the difference, but I do know from comments seen on this forum fairly often over the years that nicotine does oxidize and darken over time (including when it's mixed in e-liquids).

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not a DIY expert by any stretch of the imagination, however I believe the strength of nicotine and the quality of nicotine could certainly change the flavor of a liquid. I know cheap liquid like Heartlandvapes house brand, although it suits me just fine, at 6mg it requires a certain amount of flavoring to mask the flavor of the nic base so it's not noticeable.

still have my Blu kit and my eVic from 2013.

even my daily vape setup is over 6 years old... the Provi in the middle of this 5 year old pic is them.

I sold most of these ProVari and only have 8 used and 3 new to get me through the Vapocalypse.

    Taste buds sure do vary.
I vape Heartland Vapes house brand at 7mg unflavored and get no flavor of the nic. Only light sweetness of the VG. I stopped buying Nude Nicotine because I couldn't taste or notice any difference, other than triple the cost. YMMV.

Because folks were doing a lot of talking about them a trap I fell into when I first started buying mech Reo's the summer of 2014 was buying 50 10A auto fuses and 50 female terminal connectors that could be used to modify them. In the end after fooling around with one, I didn't feel a need to do so and did not modify my Reos to use them.

I remember getting all worked up about these fuses, too. Good fun reading everybody going back and forth, trust the spring or trust the fuse. I ended up not doing it but they were the rage for a while.
