Yep, I'm just the old guy looking for the mystery perfect vape and having fun collecting gear along the way. I hactually enjoy the tinkering more than the vape, but heck, it keeps me from wanting to Smoke.:)

Last night I said I need another mod stand. My wife said, No you just need to stop buying so many mods.
I smiled and said to late, I have 6 more here with no place to put them.

I love it when people visit and comment on all my stuff. I'd rather they notice that than an empty wallet and full ashtrays.:thumb:

But this means...I don't fit in well here at ECF anymore. It's hard to find people like me who are happily roosted with something so simple. So I just lurk sometimes. And wish everyone well.

Please don't take my tongue-in-cheek comment about eGos and six-shooters as meant to be disparaging. It was said in jest.

I look at the thriving communities of Halo, Smokeless Image, and Vapor4Life and see many who've stayed off tobacco for a long time with KR808 ciga-likes. I think that's great. And there are four-plus year vets here who mostly or exclusively drip into original Joyetech 510 disposable attys.

I agree with your point of finding what you like and ensuring you'll have it regardless of what Big Government does. I'm sure my heirs will be getting some nic base.

What many of us fail to realize is that, as has been stated many times on this forum, we represent the hardcore side of vaping. The vast majority of vapers are people who use simple egos and clearos, and it works for them. And the bulk of them do not visit here. So many of us posters get a skewed perspective and expect ALL vapers to have our same level of knowledge.

My issue is when these kids who mastered wrapping a coil (and they make it seem like they've just built an anti-matter rocket engine that will get us to Mars in 3 days) make it all about this "secret society of awesome vapers" who are in the sacred circle. Rebuildables may be the next hot thing, but it's absolutely not necessary to quit smoking, and is not the end game for the bulk of vapers.

But...but....but... you mean I'm NOT in a secret society?

(But seriously, I know what you're talking about.)

I just wonder if making vape tornadoes will still be a thing two years from now.

Vapurricanes, anyone? ;)

Well ya'll know that once a person finds their vaping novena everyone else automatically becomes wrong.

I work with a guy like that. He doesn't vape, but he's very opinionated (and loudly so) on things that he buys - Chevy trucks are the best, everything else sucks. Dewalt power tools are the best, everything else is junk. If your house doesn't have plaster walls, you're nothing but white trash. (I'm actually not even kidding about that one. He makes fun of other guys that are "dumb enough" to buy houses with drywall. Really?)

He's also one of the most miserable, unhappy human beings I've ever crossed paths with.

If you aren't vaping through a meter that shows your inhalation rate and total inhalation, and every one of your vapes is identical, and you always vape at the same temperature, barometric pressure, and humidity, you aren't getting a consistent vape, regardless of whether the voltage is steady.

While i understand what you're getting at i don't particularly agree with the logic. Anytime you're looking for a consistent experience you should keep constant all variable within your control. Obviously there will be outside variables that will alter something, but in this example keeping a constant voltage will create a more uniform experience than a random voltage each pull or inhale. By this logic there's no sense in having a thermostat in my oven because there will always be outside variables that might affect the cooking time.

That being said my everyday vape is a mechanical because i enjoy the simplicity, form factor, efficiency and higher power rating of them. However my wife on the other hand won't touch it, she much prefers her Ego and DCT setup and refuses to change.

I am pleased that I read this thread. I am very happy with my Smok ZMax, my MVP2 and my evod batteries. I know the MVP2 and the evods are throw aways and I do not like that part. I am hoping I will be able to replace batteries in the MVP2 when it dies. Maybe not.

You folks have convinced me to put the Reo on my list. Or perhaps the Billet Box if they make a mech. I had not thought about the need for simplicity when vapegeddon arrives, if it does. A Reo would be a nice back up.

Now, that being said, mechs can be made easily with a few Radio Shack parts and a 510 connector. So maybe I am just looking to have an excuse to get a Reo. Ya think!?

the kick will turn the mech into a ....ty regulated mod, just get a decent regulated mod to begin with or if you really found a good application for 15w+ in your mouth then let the mech be a mech.

I done get this purist approach to mechs. The best vape I had to date came from a kicked Nemesis .Better than any regulated APV I tried and better than vaping on battery alone.

I don't use a kick by choice. I got into mechs entirely for the simplicity and sustainability should vapocalypse or FDA come. A kick by definition adds one more thing to break and possibly be unavailable in the future. I don't sub ohm. I don't cloud chase. I just want a good solid vape I can keep going for the rest of my life no matter what the FDA does (realize I am a little old lady so it is doable).

REO was my answer though I do have 2 other mechs. :)
