Maybe MustangSallie would be extremely grateful if by chance she was to drop her $150 device. At least the tank would not break!!! LOL.

MustangSallie knows how to read, so most likely she wouldn't have purchased it. :p I did see it was made out of PMMA so it got scratched off the list. Someone offered to send me their ZAP to see if I like it, so I might just go that route. If not, I think I'll start off with the AGA-T2.

Thanks for the responses! I do appreciate all of them.

No prob MustangSallie! Hope we helped. It's great that someone with over 9,000 posts has no problem asking for help, and that us lowly folks can actually help. Just proves my theory that you can learn something from (and teach something to) everyone you meet. Probably can't get much better than a ZaP. Good luck and don't give up, gennies are frustrating!

What it really proves is that I just talk too much and don't absorb enough.

Seriously though, there is a wealth of knowledge here. Thank goodness, and thank goodness there are so many willing to share that knowledge. Without this community to be able to ask questions of, it would be truly daunting to try new things and figure out how to fix whatever it is you might be doing wrong.

Go ECF!

MustangSallie - just one more suggestion. You could try the Cobra clone and if you like it, you could get the real version (glass tank, titanium, top quality). I have both myself and I love my Cobra (the real one). Loads of options with wick/ coil on the real Cobra.
I only suggested the RSST for the ease of use. The AGA T2 is a great device and will definitely give you a chance to experiment and expand your genesis skills.
Good luck!!

Thanks grainey! Just one more question for anyone paying attention... I've heard the ZAP leaks if it's laid down. That wouldn't be a problem for me, I have a stand for my APVs and I can just make sure I use it, but for my husband I can guarantee I'll be cleaning up juice every morning. Do they all leak, or is this just something that is particular to the ZAP?

Most genesis style RBA can leak depending upon the way the wick is setup on the device. Most people leave the filler screw(s) out for better wicking. Lots of people prefer straw type wicks compared to solid and the hole in the middle of a straw wick is a nice channel for liquid to 'escape'. There are many reason for leaks!
I don't have the ZAP (which I always wanted for my Provari), but the airy draw of the device is not for me (I like a medium draw). I have heard some of the of complaints about the ZAP, but for the amount of people using them - I would think that this is a low number IMO. I have found that leaks are more of a operator error than the device design.
Hopefully someone else can chime in on the ZAP.

Oh and let me throw this in, grainey was definitely spot on recommending the RSST to a beginner:

-The unique tank insulates the bottom, so your wick can't short against the bottom
-the wick hole is also insulated
-the positive capture post is spring-loaded (no twisting tiny nuts with fingers, and no screwdriver necessary on that last wrapping step)
-you can find them for ~$26

After a TON of research it's what I went with to learn on, but I may grab an AGAT+ eventually. I will NEVER be able to afford/justify a ZAP. Since someone is loaning you the ZAP, obviously that would be cheap for you, but consider an RSST anyway, as our buddy grainey was absolutely trying to help, if you don't mind learning on plastic, it might save you some headaches at first. Or just skip it.

Definitely check out eHuman's blog when setting up your first few times, and really go through all the steps (it's super detailed):

Though this is technically for the AGAs 99% will apply to your ZAP

Where does one find the RSST? I have tried the AGA-t plus, and a couple others. However, people are setting them up for me because I just can't seem to get it. Admittedly, I gave up after a couple hours watching videos and a couple hours trying. I work all the time and just don't have the patience to fuss with them. Even with other people setting them up for me....I'm just not really liking it so far. It's like I have to prod and poke after every tank to get the coils to light up evenly again and it seems to srart tasting harsh before getting through a tank. So I end up staying with the carto tanks that I know how to use or the pro tank type bottom coil tanks where you can just replace the coil head. Most people I know that come into the vapeshop I work at and that have the RBA's/genies/zaps, etc., tell me they leak when laid down. I have yet to take one out with me because I don't want to have to deal with that. Yet there are so many people that are loving them. Maybe some day I'll find the time to get it all figured out and experience that nirvana vape everyone is talking about!;)
