Awhile ago most of the eGo batteries floating around (or at least the ones I got) were a little different than the majority of eGo batteries around today.

This is an old picture on the Madvapes site, they carry the newer style now, but you can see the difference in the batteries:

MadVapes 510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit

If you can't see the difference, look at the head part with the switch and 510 connector. The button itself is soft rubber or some sort, not hard clear plastic like the newer ones. The diameter of the silver section that houses the switch is the exact same diameter as the rest of the battery, the newer ones are all a few millimeters smaller in diameter. The length of the 510 connector is different as well. When using shorty cones the 510 connector sticks up a bit from the cone, with these older styles it would sit nearly flush.

From memory, I could have sworn they were heavier than the newer ones too, but that could just be from getting so used to heavier mods, that eGo batteries feel incredibly light now, but I could have sworn there was a weight difference.

Does anyone know of a vendor or a specific brand of eGo style batteries that still use this design? Or was this an older design that has since stopped being produced? Hope not, I personally think they looks much nicer. I'm very picky about form, and having random different diameters looks goofy to me. When using the mega cartos the old batteries created one seamless nice unit, the new batteries don't match up as well with devices meant for eGo batteries, IMO.

My Riva (eGo-Style) has the soft, translucent, no-click button. The only thing I don't like about it is that although the battery is stainless the band around the button is gold and tarnished badly. I got mine a couple of years ago and they might have changed that by now.

However, you might find what you are looking for here: Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - Riva 510

The current picture shows a chrome band, so maybe it's okay now.

EDIT: I just found this in the description, "Special Edition batteries feature Chrome accents, instead of Gold."

Thanks! Those appear to be exactly what I'm looking for. I know the ones I had weren't branded the same, but perhaps a clone of them, or just differently branded ones. Who knows, but thanks!

After looking around for Rivas and kGos they don't appear to be terribly common these days.

As far as I can tell, after Joy came out with the authentic eGo, Riva was the first (or one of the first) to clone the ego. Obviously it's a tiny bit different, which happens to be the difference i prefer. Most of the first ego clones that came out were Riva knockoffs, so clones of clones. After awhile the joy style batts were the ones to be knocked off most frequently, which explains why I remember there being many more soft button egos being sold back in the day, and now they are pretty uncommon.

Does nobody else really care about the two different styles? I mean, am I alone in being super picky about a tiny tiny aspect of the battery?
