Cmon guys...its a VMax in another form factor...whats the big deal about this? Provari killer...not at all! The provari is made by Provape, this is made in bulk by a Chinese company...which will be available to every vendor. This is the exact same post that was started by people talking about the Lavatube and the VMax...get over it...its not a Provari...nor will they ever be.

The Lavatube lowers the voltage on DCCs without telling you a word about it to 3.7v-3.8 IIRC . The Lavatube doesn't compare to a Provari. Also, the amperage of a Provari allows you to vape lower resistance atomizers on it without melting the coil. That's why they recommend the 3.0ohm atomizer when at 6v you should be vaping on a 4.5ohm+ atomizer. AFAIK the Provari is a 3.5amp device while this Vario states it's a 3.0 amp. That's a big deal because if it takes you out of the 3.0ohm range then you are either going to have to wrap your own coils on a Vivi Nova to vape it at 6v properly or you're going to be stuck with the crappy selection of the atomizers that are above 3.0ohms. The current Lavatube (version 1) has an amp limit of 2.5, but they are addressing that with a firmware upgrade for Version 2 that will allow it to go up to 3.0 amps. So even after all of that, the Provari still reigns supreme, but the price just sucks.

I officially change my position to a thumbs down due to amperage.

I may buy one, I didn't jump on the vmax because of the 139.00 price tag might as well add $20 to that and get another provari but for $99 I might go for it

If you plan to vape at 6v you may want to read my previous post about amperage though. Prices can be deceptive.

An I-pad is not made in AMERICA nore are the uniforms made for Americans in the Olympics! Now don't get me wrong, I love well built American products but the Asians are competing on a Global level!

If all the other Chinese mods with PWM are anything to go by it probably won't be calibrated very well - I personally don't think Provape have anything particular to worry about.

Incidentally, it's chrome plated brass and is heavier than a ProVari.

Pretty much the same as the Vmax but boost instead of buck, the menu system is almost a direct copy from the ProVari too.

In my experience I'd say the best backup for a ProVari would be another ProVari - most of the Chinese mods that I've owned didn't tend to be very reliable.

You really do get what you pay for - these "copies" not only lack originality, they lack finesse too.

I don't know about replacing the Provari since i have never owned a Provari but I would definitely buy one of these. I have a Vmax and LOVE it! So if this is like the vmax I am sure I will love it too and I like the Gurth. Here is another pic someone posted of it. I really want one.

I have seen this thing. It has almost 2 cm inner diameter so 18650 battery rattles in it. It does not have negative pole spring so these two features lead to bad contact. It is made of brass, chrome plated. Battery compartment thread is of the same (low) quality as on vmax. The plating already flakes off on sharp edges of the tube. I wonder about efficiency of the circuit.
I guess I am gonna stick to my ProVari.

Only $99. At almost half the price as a Provari I would buy it. The best backup for a Provari might be another Provari as someone stated, but some people can't afford a back-up Provari, let alone any Provari, so this is a great option for those who would like all the features of a Provari at a fraction of the cost. I have been very happy with my SS Vmax which looks a lot like this but thinner.

You might want to opt for a 99 cent bottle of sticky glue for your hands if your dropping your PV repeatedly.

Why would you buy a knock off? If it is exactly the same as a provari why would you give your money to the Chinese rather than support a fellow American? Has anyone but me noticed we have gobs of cheep junk out there? Try to buy American its worth the few extra dollars for quality. Provari has set a high standard world wide! Be proud buy American!!!!! Don't sell out and be a sheep and follow the herd!
