i just saw it,
it's either vanilla-butternut or chocolate-hazelnut, not vanilla-hazelnut.
anyway, both are dark almost the same,i tested them both for days,no atomizer problems.
Yikes, Parapo..you're right..! brain mush8-o
Actually I do have both & didn't like either..while I had expected to love them..

I just don't know about dark colours Misty. I try to avoid added colours but natural ones might be different. It seems to make sense that lighter liquids will have less residue when vaporised. What I try to do is to use darker colours on an atomiser I'm not worried about clogging, just in case.
Kate, good to know..(you must get tired of repeating yourself over & over to all us newbies in DIY - such amazing patience!)
Either way, English toffee is in-between color..so gonna vape it without worry..

I just ordered Praline..(not Praline & cream) -
hope it's as good as English toffee!

No Misty, I enjoy the communication here, it's nice to share knowledge. I have to confess though that I'm probably not as experienced at diy as many of you. I started going through the Janty flavours and that has kept me off my own mixes for a while. I've just bought some vanilla beans and menthol crystals to try too but don't know when I'll get around to it. I have a plan to put some vanilla bean into a bottle of eliquid and just leave it to diffuse flavour for a while.

One thing that might get me back to diy is that I've got a new device, the I-Inhale, to mess with. It's designed as a herb vaporiser and stays at a constant temperature. Ordinary commercial eliquid doesn't work too well so far, the flavours vaporise quickly, leaving flavourless vapour. I want to try some LorAnn flavours in my own mix to see if they all behave this way or if some will vaporise more slowly.

good ole walmart.

well i found some lorann flavorings at my local walmart, and there are several that have "oil" in the name, and others that don't. i avoided the "oil" ones, and also the packaging does not list the ingredients.

also, they come in 2-packs, 2 x 1 dram bottles for $2.00.

can't beat that right? well, in my excitement, i totally forgot about the colorings and being a bad idea, so i've got a couple to return ;)

however, some are safe. i got:

butterscotch
grape (color)
pina colada
root beer (color)
watermelon (color)
wintergreen

makes me sad, i really wanted root beer!

also found "Now!" brand VG in a health store, 16oz (473 mL) for $7. it was in the lotion area, but says USP food grade, for external or ingestion, 100% pure. seems to be a big one that pops up on Amazon when i searched as well.

now i have to return these cheap and awesome flavors for non-colored ones if any are left! most were oils though. i really want Annise/licorice :(

and no, i don't have an ecig yet, so i haven't tried any!

*edit - wintergreen looks unusable as well based on ingredients.

Flitzanu--Now VG is excellent--that is all I use and good old Walmart. I always look and strike out there that is why I order direct from Lorann. Shipping time is horrible though as they only ship certain flavors depending on what day of the week it is. Also due to the low flashpoint of some of their products, they will only ship UPS ground. Looks like you only got 2 usable with the butterscotch and the pina colada. Give them an order, as their Annise/licorice is pretty potent!! The Bavarian Cream is damn good and I was shocked that the Cranberry was a winner for me as well--Sun :)

Sun -- have you used the Anise from Lorann then? i saw it has "oil" in it, and most seem to say to avoid it, i hadn't seen anyone say yet that they tried it. or i missed it in the pages of replies...hehe.

and good to know on the VG oil, i've also got some Wilton brand glycerine. i'm pretty surprised i was able to come across all the products locally, its good to know i will have a steady supply.

and heck, at least i've got some flavors and some VG that i can make my own no-nic fluid if i ever get desperate and run out!

oh, and walmart did have some other flavors, like apple, and maybe some others to be used, i'm gonna swap them out for the other ones. because yeah, for $2 for two bottles?? versus 1.50 online for one? plus shipping?? haha. lucky me i must say. almost missed them, by the way, they were on a little sidecap display. you may want to be more diligent and check EVERYWHERE around the craft/candy section.

i did not, however, find glycerine at walmart. but as others stated, i saw it at Michael's crafts, and at Hobby Lobby. i'm sure a bigger amount can be found cheaper online though, that's my next step.

Flitzanu--You want to go with this one from LorAnn:
Licorice Flavor
Product Number:0300-0100
Kosher Certified. Contains: Propylene Glycol, Artificial Flavor, Alcohol. Soluble in water. Appropriate for use in chocolates and coatings. Not eligible to ship by air.

It is very strong. The Apple you saw is a good one--not as strong as a few others so bump it up just a bit--very good. I make my own with VG and have tried every water soluable flavor LorAnn has so give a ring if you have any questions. And the Now is damn good VG. 7 dollars for 16 ounces--thats 480 ml--Lot of e-liquid!!!!!!!!!!!--Sun:)

ooh, licorice will be next on my list. you rock as usual.

that and i saw someone had an absinthe recipe...i need to try that too (when i convince my friends to buy a $70 of lucid to drink first).

i'm surprised so many people hate licorice flavor in general...is the vape a "real" licorice taste or what?

Ok...It seems like forever I've been reading this thread and I still find myself having to ask a couple of questions. You'd think I could have formed a general idea by now. There's an awful lot of info here, but gathering it all into one thought process is another thing. Especially for this "dumber than bird crap" mathematician

Part 1:

I need a base formula using the following....
10ml Bottle / 0 Nicotine
100% Vegetable Glycerin "Now Foods"
Distilled Water

Flavor is objective so I'm not concerned with that. I can add Loranns accordingly, if needed.

Part 2:

I would be looking for a generalized idea of how much 36mg juice (PG) I could add to that 10ml base to reach various nicotine levels (e.g. 8, 18 or 24mg).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

DNO--Kate has suggested the following and it works great

.5ml Distilled water
.5-1 ml LorAnn Flavor
1 ml Commerical e-liquid (high)
3 ml VG

You can proportion it from there--hope that helps--Sun:)

Thanks Sun. I have that one tagged.

Is it safe to assume this formula, minus the commerical e-liquid, is in itself a vapable solution. Is that correct?

It's 3:36 am! Gotta hit the sack. 8:00 ain't too far away! Good night/morning all. See ya on the flipside!

I've just bought some LorAnn banana flavouring on eBay UK, two bottles for a fiver. A few questions, some people seem wary of colourings, why is this?
Also which flavours deliver the best throat hit.

lorann, Crafts items at low prices on eBay.co.uk

This shows you the flavours available to UK ebay customers, which of these are ok, colouring wise (if colouring is indeed a problem) and which of these delivers the best throat hit?

Thanks.

You could vape that without the commercial eliquid if you wanted. All you need in eliquid is something to make the vapour heavy like smoke - propylene glycol and/or glycerine and flavour. If you want nicotine the easiest way to get it is to use commercial eliquid.

Here's Jaaxx's recipe calculator ... it's Hakomatic!

Hey Kate, did you mean to include a link?

People are leery of colorings because of the unknown possible consequences of inhaling them.

As far as throat hit...I don't know but I don't see how a flavoring provides a throat hit....but maybe others have experienced this.

And here's a list of what seems to be the safe ones:

I've been playing with some LorAnn candy flavorings mixed with some weaker tasting sample bottle of flavorings I have.

So far I've got a couple of hits.

1. Couple of droppers full of LorAnn Bubble Gum + sample bottle of JC Artic Mint = Bubblemint. yum!

2. Dropper full of LorAnn Toasted Marshmallow + Dropper full of LorAnn carmel + JC Chocolate - I call this smores but its not exact. It if very tasty.

I also made some 0 nic with LorAnn Cinnamon roll + PG. If I drop a drop of that with a drop of CaSHbucks on my atomizer, it makes Cinnamon Dolce Latte for all you starbucks fans out there.

I have a local cake shop that has all the Lorann flavors. Next time I'm going after the fruity ones.

This is a lot of fun!
