Mixxy, I used the wintergreen yesterday(the regular not natural),using a D.I.Y recipie found here(no nic).no colors in it so I'm assuming it is safe. There is no comparison to the PS True menthol. This stuff is pungent...I just used a very small amount(less than the recipie called for in fact),and it was overbearing....I think I need to use more VG and less of this. I will say this..If you like wintergreen this will deliver. All the bottle says for ingredients is Methyl sal...hope this helps!! The Wiz!

Wizard--watch out on the wintergreen as the artifical (no the oil) is only partially soluable. I killed an atomizer way back with the Wintergreen. It is good though!---Sun

Hey guys! so I've read it's not recommended to use colouring but a lot of the Lorann oils that people use (example banana) have colouring in it. Can anyone explain further? thanks!

Hi markywos :)

As you can see.. if you've read through this thread... most of us are trying to avoid the flavors with coloring added (since we don't know if they are "okay" to vape) and for sure we should avoid a flavor with sugars/oils that can damage the atomizers. I recently (accidentally) bought a coffee flavoring from Lorann that has caramel coloring in it.. but have decided I love it enough to make an exception for this one flavor on the coloring ;)

This link was posted by Rejoice I think:
Nature's Flavors : Natural Flavor Extract

On the top of their web page they list the flavor ingredients as:

Ingredients: Water, Ethyl Alcohol, Natural Flavor

But, I don't think anyone has tried flavors from this company yet?

Wizard--check out the specs on the regular, (not the oil)--it is only is only partially soluable. That is why I gave it a go--only to have my atomizer clog up--I think it was worth it though as it was good!!! Let us know how your atomizer holds up and maybe I will give it another go as that was a great flavor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--Thanks--Sun

I'm so excited :D -- my PG is suppose to come tomorrow, along with my Bickford's Coffee & Kahlua (though I'm thinking now these both may have color in them) but I'm looking forward to mixing more of my LorAnn flavors using more PG than VG. Now if my no flavor juice would get here I could really set up my lab!!

Oh... but I still need to order bottles... darn it... always something else I need!! ;)

Hi guys, im new to the forums. theres a wealth of information here that i have been tapping into and i have learned so much its almost ridiculous.

i recently bought the evo, and am waiting for them to ship it from the uk to the us. i doubt ill get it within the month, but im already thinking about starting off with DIY fluids.

am i right to assume that the actual commercial suppliers like totally wicked, puresmoker, and johnson creek use PG and VG with very little else added?

i read in a thread about PG that "Nature's Flavors" dot com sells both PG and VG. i didnt read that they were suitable for this application, and no one corroborated that they were okay but here are the names:

Glycerine (CAS Number: 56-81-5) Food Grade
Propylene Glycol (CAS Number: 57-55-6) Kosher

both are one gallon bottles, and im wondering if they're pure enough. it sounds like they are. but at 20 bucks US a gallon, i will have plenty of e-fluid to last me until i give it up completely. im just hoping its the right stuff for the job.

i found these .5oz bottles "6 1/2 oz Amber Boston Round Glass Dropper bottle" on ebay to mix in.

The plan for me is to get flavorless juice and mix with lorann flavorings. and cut with VG and PG if thinner is needed. keep in mind, i havent even gotten my first e-cig yet, its just exciting to think about.is there anything i am missing?

Great to be a part of the forums, Cheers! and THANKS!:)

I first tried Steve's Cashbucks Coffee.. and absolutely loved it.. then I tried Jane's coffee. I didn't care for it as much.. but did at least get used to it enough to use it up. I have a 30 ml bottle of Cashbucks that 1/4 of it leaked out in shipping.. so it's in the cupboard where I'm saving it like it's gold, LOL! I made the Keoke coffee so I could stretch out my Cashbucks.. but now I like that it ALMOST as much as Steve's and much cheaper to make my own!

I posted that link mixxy, but I haven't tried them yet. I wish someone would and let us know how they are! :p

Here's another one too. If you click on the flavor, the ingredients are listed at the top, under the name. Haven't tried them either yet:

faerie's finest - extracts and liquid flavors

$6 for shipping.

Happy mixing! :D

You might try picking up the LorAnn Sassafras. It's a flavor very close to rootbeer, though isn't as well known. Contents say just artificial flavorings. It's the best smelling one of the batch I got in yesterday, but I'm still juggling utensils and cartridges so haven't managed to try it yet. It smells wonderful!

I just tried a half and half VG and Sassafras but it was too thick. Since I don't have any plain PG yet so I added a couple drops of Bickford's blackberry. I wanted this one just Sassafras, but the berry taste didn't override the rootbeer flavor like I was afraid of. It's quite yummy, like candy but more subtle than the Bavarian creme. I will go with a little more Sassafras next time.

It was still on the thick side. Does anyone know if there are any problems with using a thicker mixture aside from taking more time to soak into the core?
