Good morning! Beautiful morning here! Gonna be a warm one today and looks like I'll be watering later.

Good afternoon Loungers!

This got me thinking that maybe....just maybe, that Milorganite spread around the area where these varmints are testing your patience. I spread Milorganite around my weeping hibiscus at the end of my driveway and the deer won't go near it......that is, when I remember to do it. It's also a fertilizer so it won't harm your plants.
Also, just for the fun of it try some coffee grounds in your jade tree! It may deter the squirrels and will provide some nutrients for the jade, as well.
Gosh, I so hope this helps, cause I certainly feel your frustration! We are having a wild summer here with possums, coons, and of course, the deer. Wild turkeys are not doing any damage as they walk through our property every morning.

Milorganite huh. I'll definitely have to give that a try. The other morning I went out the front door to find that something - deer probably - have eaten my entire large hydrangea and 2 huge hostas in the same bed. Must have been a herd of them. Can't imagine a couple of them eating that much. I have 1 hydrangea flower laying on the ground. And this year I'd hoped to have tons of blooms. I sprinkled critter repellant all over everything, but we'd just had some heavy rains and hadn't reapplied the stuff again.

I just came in from checking my front garden! I should take my own advice and NOT forget to sprinkle Milorganite. Although those sweet deer munched on my baby hibiscus that I propagated from the mother plant, I was shocked to see that they left my kumquat young tree totally alone, with the fruit untouched!
It is supposed to rain sometime today, but turned the soaker hoses on anyway just in case Mother Nature changes her mind.

Hola .. :)

A few years back, as I continued the Battle of the Vermin that insist on Invading My Yard .. I tried every off the shelf product that I could find, and nothing seemed to be effective .. in fact, I think some of the VooDoo products actually attracted more ..

Then, I read on-line (where else .. ??) that Human Urine was effective if poured around the Perimeter .. so, I cleaned out a gallon plastic milk jug and proceeded to pee in it until it was nearly full .. I don't remember how long that took, but it was definitely more than a Day ..

Then, I poured that in a Pump Garden Sprayer and sprayed around the Perimeter .. and, I don't think it had any effect at all .. perhaps my urine was sub-standard .. or, the Urine Info was "Fake News" .. :(

These days, a Catch and Release trap with a tasty varmint treat and a trip to the Country to release the critter seems to be somewhat effective .. but, a hassle ..

I had a Dr appointment today, so as I ventured out my Jeep showed the temp as 106°. When I got on the freeway it was down to 96°. Now that I am back home my Indoor/Outdoor thermometer is showing 101°. I did splurge and stopped at 7-Eleven and got a Slurpee (Dr. Pepper). Now this will help cool ya down.

'Afternoon everyone...

Yep, I've cycled back to being nocturnal... Too difficult to stay awake during the heat of the day and attempt to paint... boring subjects with the paint too quickly drying on the palette... in my quest to learn some painting techniques. o_O

I got to my doctor's office and it turns out I didn't have an appointment after all. I hate when that happens. I feel so dumb. And I had it it my calendar on my phone. No clue at all how I did that. Only thing worse is missing an appointment. Then they charge you! ;)

You've been trying to fight your natural sleep circadian for as long as I've known you , so if you feel well and alert and just downright 'better', then it's a good thing that you're following your natural sleep pattern.

@Janet H my battles here are with squirrels. I have yet to harvest a single fig off my tree…they get them all. They also apparently find tropical hibiscus flowers tasty. That's why that plant had to join my tomato and pepper plants in the cage we put together for that purpose years ago
