We had storms move through our area last night. We lost power about 9:30 PM or so. I eventually hooked up a portable generator and hooked up our fridge plus a couple of other things (coffee pot & a fan). When we got power back on at 4:30 PM or so. I logged in to FB and found out that my granddaughter's trailer was rolled over by straight-line winds. They lost everything. She and her family were on the way to her mother's house so the whole family was fine. We have a few limbs down that I will take care of tomorrow.

Wow ! I am glad they are ok tho !

Although - Dorian - "Looks" as though it maybe head your way - Ya' never know, especially now since they widened the "Cone of Uncertainty" to included South Florida . . . Here's hoping that it by-passes "Us" and goes out to sea . . .

So - Just like "You" - although prepped to stay here (Management just installed Hurricane Windows a couple of months ago) - live in a flood plane (very close to the intercoastal) - I am ready to go at a moments notice . . . And - Thankfully not to a shelter, but to my best friends home in WPB (self contain and better then any shelter) . . . So - Clothes for at least a weeks stay all packe, Needed battery operated Electronics, Meds, and of course vape Gear (all charged any ready) & 3-4 bottles of 30ml e-liquid and a couple of power banks Battery Charger too . . .

Oh yea, Uncle.......so hope it bypasses all of us, but doesn't look promising as of now. Daughter and sil will be with us and will decide where to go when/if evac orders are given. Already received an e mail from local emergency services advising to be totally prepped by tomorrow evening......
Mercy I am not up to hurricane prepping. I am so tired !
I get off work at 2 on Friday so I guess I'll come home and deal with things then.
Oh I know, Classy, that's yukky that you have to work and then do all that prepping.

Well tropical storm Dorian is now hurricane Doria and according to the predictiobs from the National Hurricane Center, as of now, it would be a category 1 over Florida. This weekend will be the tell.

Of course it may be back down to just heavy rain by the time it reaches us.

From what I understand, it could be a Cat 3 by the time it hits Florida.

We are currently in Lexington, KY to head home Monday. Yard and house is clear, but no window protection. Hopefully we are inland enough to miss the worst of the storm, but we will be surely driving through rain on the way home.

They don't know where it will go until it hits. Everyone in the cone of possible stay safe! And alert!

Yeah, I'm content with volcanos and earthquakes :)

I endured Mt ST Helens eruption and several bad quakes. Now I am in storm country. The thing I fear most are tornadoes and hopefully, I will never experience one.

    Good morning Loungers
Good morning, all. Have to do H prep today and not talking about Preparation H as in the other thing.
Love the humor! Not loving the prep!

We're having a few neighbors here tonight for a readiness pow-wow to see who may need help, where folks may be going if/when/evac is ordered. Helping older folks who may be alone getting their property sealed; lots more prep with this one.

Good morning Rose, Nermal and Fran. I'm listening to the Dorian predictions on the news this morning. Isn't it strange how lovely the weather is just before severe weather hits? It's a gorgeous morning here. I'll be hoping anyone in Dorian's way is safe and doesn't experience damage.

    'Evening everyone...

Thank you Janet...:) Everyone I do is a learning experience...;) Much like when I sculpted, I never feel it's perfect, but strive to improve with each one I do.

I've seen your sculpting and trust me, they sure look perfect to me!!! But it's probably true that they wouldn't have become perfect if you didn't think there was room for improvement.

I dread this coming winter. They are predicting a rough one. At least you know that the next day is going to be bitterly cold. People are telling me that I need to be prepared for many potty-walks in weather like that.

    Potty-walks????????

Good morning Gracie. One of the silver linings to a coming storm is how people come together to help each other and at least with a hurricane there's time to prepare. How nice of you to host the pow-wow. Good luck to everyone in Dorian's path.
