Meet Me in St Louie Louie
It's funny how Public Events such as Concerts / Sporting Events / Outdoor Fests, etc, have changed over the years .. used to, you presented a paper ticket, they tore it in half and you walked in with whatever "substance" you might have .. people raised lighters at a show in appreciation and it could be a sea of Zippos / Bics .. you'd light up if you wanted to and a certain aroma would drift through the air .. now, they raise a phone flashlight ..

Now, it's metal detectors, clear plastic totes, sometimes a sniffing dog, etc ..

Evolution or de-Volution .. ?? You decide ..

How you doing today?

OK and thanks for asking .. still wallowing a bit but pulling myself out of the quicksand .. it's a sunny day, just a little nipply out there, but a fine Fall day, none the less .. thinking I may hit the tail end of some Oktoberfest this weekend, do some wine tasting and listen to some Bands .. don't have anyone to go with yet, but I have my two "adopted" daughters next door that are usually ready to go at the drop of a hat ..

I would be remiss in not mentioning a hearty thanks to all of you that contributed Posts containing words of encouragement yesterday .. I firmly believe we are somewhat of a "support system" in our small corner of the Cyberverse .. on top of the regular chit chat, the "Morning Waltons" and what not, it's nice, for me anyway, to know I can sometimes write it out and unload .. (I promise to never make "unloading" a regularity ..)

And as for you, Kay .. I don't care who says what about your mental faculties .. you seem sharp as a tack to me .. :)

Back from bowling and lunch and it is so beautiful outside I didn't want to come in! All the windows are open with a breeze that feels so refreshing.

Anyway, I agree with you Willie, that our Kay is FAR from lacking in her mental faculties......she IS sharp as a tack and always matches that with her sharp humor...sometimes a bit risque, but that's what makes her so lovable.

When our daughter lost her 1st husband, she very soon after, got a dog. Her and Adam had wanted one, so she found Izzy or perhaps Izzy found her. They were living in San Diego at the time. Adam was from Louisiana and as it turned out Izzy was a rescue from the Louisiana floods back then that found her way to a shelter in San Diego. Kate was looking for a small dog but it way 'love' at 1st sight when Katie saw Izzy at the shelter. There was no question in her mind that Izzy was the dog she was looking for.

Izzy brought so much comfort to Kate in that time of her life. Izzy isn't just a dog, she's family!

What lovely photos! Love Izzy!! :)

Me too, so when I drag everything out I make at least 600 mls of each flavor, sometimes more. Makes it worthwhile to go to the trouble so it doesn't have to be done again for a long time. I have a TO DO list that keeps me on track each day and it feels good to cross things off the list. Now if I could just stop adding things to said list... What doesn't get done today can be dealt with another day.
Oh, that was my intent last night, but only got a little done. Have intentions of finishing tonight, so left everything out. I so wish I could have a vaping/mixing station so that I wouldn't have to drag everything out.

I've been wondering about your two 'adopted daughters'. They are doing well, I presume?!

You can always "unload" here Willie. This IS a family and always here to support each other. Thank you for giving us a place to get together, say what we are feeling, and lend support as needed. I am not very active with posts, but I read all and chime in when I feel I have something to say. This is one of those times ...

What a lovely story! I believe Adam sent Izzy to Kate. Is Izzy still around?

I was just about to ask you about the girls. How are they?

And glad you feel better. I think most people have times when life gets overwhelming for whatever reason. Ever since my son died there are times when I see or hear something that brings that horrible time in focus so I "shut the door" to the world and retrieve into myself to recoup.

Laurel is now 20 and doing well at Washington U, commutes to her classes and holds down a part-time job at Bed, Bath and Beyond .. Lilly is now coming on 16 and is, er, I guess, a normal 16 year old .. she was emancipated so no longer has to worry about her Father taking her away .. they both settled their inheritance and did not go crazy with a giant spending spree ..

Both of these Young Women nearly stand eye to eye with me, and I'm 6' .. neither express much interest in having a Boy Friend at this point and I think their height intimidates a lot of guys .. it's the guys loss, since they are both witty, smart, carry themselves with confidence and are, as a bonus, both knock outs in the looks department ..

All in all, they will be solid members of the Citizenry .. their Mom raised them well before her untimely passing ..

We still periodically enjoy each others company and, although I had very strong feelings toward not befriending them at the get go, since I'm no prime example of who you want to emulate, for some odd reason, they seem to still like me .. who knew .. ?? o_O

I don't know you well, and I already like you a lot.....love how you speak.....love how you share.....I'm so glad I came for a visit and decided to stay. And, like everyone else said, NEVER be afraid to unload, as it helps to get it out and to know that people care...and we do...
Have a fine evening, Loungers....until tomorrow....

This morning I received my last (for a while) order from FastTech. I think I am ready for the vape apocalypse.
I had an appointment with my pain med doctor yesterday and he wasn't happy about how my pain meds were working or rather not working. He gave me a script for a different pain med. Now it is a waiting period to see how things go and how my body will react. The pharmacy tech said my insurance would only pay for a 7 day supply since it was a new pain medication and that my doctor will have to write another script for the other 3 weeks at the end of the 7 days. I guess since it is a different pain med they want to only give a week's supply in case my body reacts badly to it. It is a morphine derivative and morphine is not agreeable with some folks.

Hope the new meds will work for you, and that the morphine derivative will agree with your system.
