Just a little bit about myself. I'm 68, going on 38. I have MS, which is now stable. The doctor told me that once you reach a certain age, if you haven't progressed, you will remain as you are. I'm very fortunate..have pretty severe fatigue, a little numbness here and there, but my motor skills are mostly intact. Have some other skeletal problems that rear their ugly heads now and then, but, hey, at my age, I'm not complaining.
I have one little dog, after a lifetime of a multiple dog household. Lost my last 2 at 3 months apart and broke my heart. I don't think I've ever been without one as far back as I can remember. Will post an updated picture of my little Maddy soon!
I also LOVE cats, but haven't had any for about 20 years now. Cleaning litter boxes for so many years was enough for me to stop. I actually rescued cats and kittens. I miss having a cat around, but Maddy is so spoiled, she would not accept another pet, and I am fine with that.
In 2017, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. Had the surgery and, again, was so fortunate that it was a stage 1 and was caught early. When I reach the 3 year mark, the risk of recurrence goes WAY down. I have about 7 months to go to reach that goal.
I have been with my partner for almost 24 years and I'm very happy. We laugh a lot, and she has carried me through the bad times, and set me down gently and allowed me to heal. Lots of laughter in this house. She should have been a comedienne, or, perhaps she was in another life ( I don't really believe that, but, still....)
I love reading, good shows and movies....good friends. Used to LOVE gardening, but once I'm on the ground, need help getting back up, so most of my gardening is now indoor plants and a few spinach and lettuce plants in boxes on the back porch.
I am a terrible traveler, sad to say. But the internet allows me to see things I would never have seen otherwise.
I am agnostic by nature. Was raised Catholic, left the church at 18. I respect people of all religions, so long as they respect me. If faith gets someone through a bad time, I am all for it. I know there is something out there greater than myself, and that's all I need to know.
In my younger life, I was a circulation manager and part time photographer for our city paper.
I have a brother who has pretty severe Parkinson's. My mother was adopted, so we have NO history on her side, but there MUST be some neurological problems there...
Happy to answer ANY and ALL questions if I skipped anything, which I probably did. Hard to put your life into a few paragraphs.
Hope this pleases @Uncle Willie :p

Have a wonderful day. :)
My sister was recently diagnosed with MS, she's 35. She's having to deal with the pain and is stating to have pain/mobility issues because of spinal stenosis. Any tips on reducing pain without drugs or surgery? They have her on nuerontin, and some others, but it's not helping much. Still working on an effective dosage regimen I think.

Speaking of "using your fingers", are you still tying your own flies.

Yes, I am. Actually our tying club is running our fall tying class right now. We break the class into 3 sections with an instructor for beginners, intermediate and advanced tyers.

Do you know what type of MS? Is it relapse/remitting or progressive or one of the rarer types? Spinal stenosis, at that age, is pretty rare. Has she tried cbd oil? PT may help her some, but I have told ALL of my MS friends, WATER therapy is excellent for all facets of MS. There are so many new MS drugs that I am not familiar with, but the therapies have come a long way. As I said, without knowing what kind she has, I can't be much more help. Will keep her in my thoughts.

@FranC so sorry to hear about Tigger.

@MikeE3 when we were growing up we had a trailer on one of our local lakes. I remember sitting around the table with my folks while they tied crappy gigs. I've been trout fishing a couple of times but I'm very happy just buying the flys they are biting. However, I can really appreciate the talent it takes for tying your own. I do like your "Patriotic" fly.

Thank you...:) I've been curious about what kind of art you did... Are the gourds some of your work? Love them.

I did shows too, once upon a time, though I never considered it a hobby, but as a professional means to seek a decent income. I did well until Mother nature said "Oh no you don't!", and I was hit with severe, aggressive RA, and put an end to it all. Painting is a totally new avenue for me, and I'm once again going to be dipping my toes into doing at least one show in hopes of supplementing my meager SS income.

I think we are all pleased to get to know you, and happy you have joined us here...:)

@yiddleboge6 ... he, he ... what can/could you do with this one. While looking for the pic in my previous post I ran across this one. It wasn't tied for fishing, just presentation.

Dear Frannie .. the year of 2019 has not been the best time for you, to say the least .. I know, many here know, it's been tough .. you've had major loss, you've had to adjust your life as needed, etc ..

Not much in the way of comfort that I can offer other than to say you are a valued and important part of our little area of the Cyberverse .. and I have all the best and hopeful wishes that the future will brighten ..

I’m to the point where I just want this year gone and hope the next brings something better.

Fantastic, so glad to see you're still pursuing your love of creation, you are really talented.
Love the Red,White, and Blue one, even if it's just for "show"... it should have a blue ribbon.
