Before I get back to my easel...thought I would share a piece of my long ago work for those who haven't seen any of it....and for those who have, I don't think I've ever posted this one before...

Pose and costuming based on a photo so old it's no longer under copyright, of the famous Russian dancer Nijinsky (1889-1950) in "Le Spectre de la Rose". It was said that the ladies in the audience would 'swoon' as he leaped through the window in this dance.

I love one stroke painting, I haven't done it in years.
It fascinated me too, but I'm basically into oil painting.
I was playing with the technique of "one stroke" because I wanted to apply it using oils.
The technique works great with india inks too if I'm careful.

' Are the gourds some of your work?.
Yup ... I love growing and working with gourds, because they opened up a new world of creation for me.
You can't get bored with gourds because you can woodburn, paint, carve, basketweave, leather stain, sculpt and more with them. Plus you have all different sizes and shapes to work with.
I've pretty much given it up now, since I can't do shows anymore, and I have no way of getting rid of all of them.
I have a few pieces that I want to finish ,, a wall mask, and one with turquoise inlays.
Using the dremel is really bringing out the arthritis in my fingers, so I'm done with recessed carving now.
Need to save the fingers for coil building. :p

Do you know what type of MS? Is it relapse/remitting or progressive or one of the rarer types? Spinal stenosis, at that age, is pretty rare. Has she tried cbd oil? PT may help her some, but I have told ALL of my MS friends, WATER therapy is excellent for all facets of MS. There are so many new MS drugs that I am not familiar with, but the therapies have come a long way. As I said, without knowing what kind she has, I can't be much more help. Will keep her in my thoughts.
Ill ask her later today after I get home. Thanks for responding.

I lost my old boy last night. Rest in peace,Tigger.
Fran, I want to tell you a story, even if I get rebuffed.
Long ago, I had two cats, Brandy, and Freckles ...and a waterbed.
Brandy would jump on the bed, and walk up near my head to sleep with me, causing small movement in the bed, everynight.
She absolutely would not allow Freckles on the bed ... ever.
I lost Brandy one day, and that night when I went to bed, I felt Freckles jump up on the bed and walk towards me because she was now "allowed"
I raised up and turned to say hi ... and there was nothing there.
I got chills, but still a warm feeling, and I knew Brandy was still with me.
This happened off and on for a long time.
It gradually faded over time, and that was when Freckles started joining me at bed time.
I've always believed in "something" beyond because I have had several physic experiences during my life that can't be explained.
Until they (people or animals) move on, I believe a strong bond can still be felt if your open to it.
Your never alone.

I asked her what type of MS it is, she said it is relapse/remitting. She has been to PT, but the therapist said that she improved all that she could and so it's over right now. I didn't know that sponal stenosis was rare at a young age, but the MRI showed it, bone spurs are also growing on the inside of her spine towards her spinal column . She's never tried CBD oil, I suggested it as a possible treatment to try, but I don't think she is interested in trying it. When you say water therapy, what does this entail? Is it water PT, drinking water, or something else?
For years she thought the pain was just part of aging, something everyone experienced. When she went to the doctors, because the side of her face went numb and tingling, the doctor caught it. Lumbar puncture, MRI, not sure which other tests later, it's now a certainty. It really sucks, 35yo, 5 kids, single mother, and not able to work right now.

Anyways, thank you for whatever insight or guidance you can provide. We are still trying to figure things out, it's all pretty new to us atm.

Relapse/remitting is the best one to have, IF you have to have it. Because you go into remission and have good periods. You never know when that might be. The mighty double edged sword of steroids is STILL the medicine that can help her pain. Some people experience NO pain with MS, your sister and I are, unfortunately ones who do. Steroids always helped my pain, but you have to deal with so many side effects and long term makes your bones weaken. I don't like or take pain meds, although I was happy to have dilaudid when I had lung surgery, but only for a few days.
What I mean about water therapy is getting into an indoor heated pool, like the Y and just moving your entire body around. No pain. It's wonderful. I used to get in, go to the deep end and just tread water for an hour. It moved all the muscles I couldn't really use on full weight and it helped my fatigue. It was also enjoyable for me. Usually a physical therapist can tell you some exercises to do in water that will help, too.
Yes, VERY young for stenosis. Bone spurs can pretty much hit at any age. But spinal stenosis usually happens in your 50s or 60s when you've used your body in ways you shouldn't have. I painted my house myself, built an "almost" level deck and thought nothing about how I might one day pay for it. Stenosis can be VERY painful, too, and I wonder if a lot of her pain is from that. It can cause sciatica, also. Fun stuff!!!
She can try the CBD that you rub on aching areas, if she is afraid to ingest it. But, it really is harmless is you drink it. But, it's up to her.
I am so sorry she is going through this. She's so young, and 5 kids....oy.....If I can answer any questions, I am happy to. :)

    Have a great night everyone....and a better tomorrow :)

Health and welfare of the rats? Now that's also a weird to read!
It's a dog sport, not to eliminate rats. No creature can be harmed.

@FranC, I am sorry for your loss, but I believe they never really leave. They are always in your heart and watching over you. They do come back to visit, especially in the beginning. They fade as the wonderful memories fill the void. But they are always there.

@Katmar, thank you for sharing! I "know" you informally from other threads, nice to know you better.

Our tracking seminar went well. Learned a new way to get Mr G started that doesn't require a physical helper. We will be in the fields this winter!

@FranC so sorry to hear about Tigger.

@MikeE3 when we were growing up we had a trailer on one of our local lakes. I remember sitting around the table with my folks while they tied crappy gigs. I've been trout fishing a couple of times but I'm very happy just buying the flys they are biting. However, I can really appreciate the talent it takes for tying your own. I do like your "Patriotic" fly.

Fantastic, so glad to see you're still pursuing your love of creation, you are really talented.
Love the Red,White, and Blue one, even if it's just for "show"... it should have a blue ribbon.

Actually @Slots it has a ribbon ... The Kosov Campaign ribbon awarded to those who served over there. That fly and others were done to co-ordinate with various service award ribbon colors.

Then a shadow box was put together and donated to a Project Healing Waters chapter, which auctioned it off as part of their annual fundraiser. I believe it raised about $2000 for our vets recovering from physical and mental challenges they brought home with them.

[QUModern Met. A lot of interesting things show up from there, but it's all under copyright and I couldn't afford to license any of it if any of the photographers would even agree to let me use it.

Another example from the same source...

Yiddle...that owl was so interesting that i looked it up...and found this one..it's TOO adorable...I might make it my avatar!..
