Morning all.

Still summer here, only 34 overnight, and mid 50's by sunset.

Thanks, @Uncle

I just don't have the energy to check into it and get inundated with all the calls and mailings that would be inevitable at this time.

"My" Absolute Pleasure . . . ALL GOOD . . . Well except for the fact, that if you get Medicare (or about to) - your still going to be inundated with Ads in your mailbox by all the different companies offering/asking your to signup with them . . . IMHO - It seems, someone is "selling" your info to these agencies . . . "THEY" know when you turn 50 (AARP) and then 65 (Government / Social Security / Medicare - some people have to sign-up for Medicare 3 months before their 65 birthday & some are automatically put on Medicare like I was  ) .

Anyway the main thing is, before your inundated with anything or even gets more confusing (as it did with "Me"), take whatever time you need and check out the links I posted just to find out what possible - Benefits are available to "You" (especially to avoid Medicare "Part C" cost) - if /when Ya' get medicare.

EXAMPLE: With the plan I have, extreamly low co-pay if any at all (Just the Medications - I take to survive would cost "Me" over $20,000 + a year which I could never ever afford), Primary Visits (every 3 months & a Yearly Wellness Visit), Cardiac/Pulmonary Doctor visits (well any specialist I NEED to see). Dental Visit, etc. (Including Dentures every 5 years if NEEDED), Eye Exam's & Glasses (Diabetic Eye Exam 1 a year too), Also any and all Blood test (every 3 months) and any possible Lab/Test . . . No Need for referrals, plus so many others benefits too . . . That is how I got the Inogen - they cost over $3,000 - $4,000 - however I pay nothing out of pocket. OH and after I contact them - Inogen did all the work too (took only 3 months).

Anyway - I'm sure you will do what you feel comfortable doing and check out what you NEED to when the time comes . . . Until then, if there is anything I can do to help let me know . . . For everyone else, same applies - check out the links . . . Just Sayin' . . .

OH YEA - Still to Early, but . . .

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

I was thinking about Patrick (2legs) and Dave (BigBells) last night .. Patrick passed unexpectedly, I thought .. it seemed like he was making plans for his lifestyle change some time after his wife's death, figuring a budget, etc (although it did seem he had dove into a deep depression) .. Dave just went .. poof, and he was gone ..

The time we are allotted before the Reaper comes calling is always finite .. and we never know how it will be, slow or sudden .. I have always hoped for a quick and painless entry into Valhalla or the Great Beyond, whatever it may or may not be .. I hope the wishes of my DNR are upheld, although I have known folks where theirs have not for various reasons ..

I've attended my fair share of Visitations / Funerals over the last 10-15 years .. and a general pattern emerges as you visit with the attendees and Loved Ones, within the chatter of the space ::

40's .. tragic / taken in their Prime
50's .. such a shame
60's .. died too young
70's .. a good run
80's .. a life well lived
90's .. a hell of a ride

I'm hoping to hit the "a life well lived" platform .. although I won't sneeze at "a hell of a ride" ..

Carpe Deim, my Friends .. Carpe Deim ..

it's not the outside hackers I'm concerned about. It's the insiders I'm concerned about.

I'm just paranoid enough to worry about both inside and outside...;) Still, I'll continue to cast my votes and hope...

AGREED ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Just one of the many reason I will never ever do a mail-in ballot, especially here in FL. It's bad enough they continually try to suppress "Voter's" rights & voter registration around here like the rest of the country. For the past 15 years that I have been here - they invalidate many mail-in ballots just because the signature does not exactly match the one on record (based on people's judgement - not a scanner, nor sig expert) . Which leads to the question - WHOSE signature is exactly the same every time, Not MINE. Simalar - YES! Exact - NO !

Worse yet is the fact, that in 2016 the people of Fl passed a Fl State Constitutional Amendment to restore previous felons the opportunity to vote again, and those in power of the FL Sate legislation (Majority is Republicans - since they don't approve, especially since it would negate all the work they did gerrymandering FL) are doing everything in their power to negate the people's vote. The one good thing though, there is early voting here . . . even though many of the Republican governs keep changing the dates and how long people can vote before election day. So - Although all I have to do is go down stairs to our community room on election day, I make sure to go before election day - No volatile confrontations by supporters and more importantly, usually Ya' can get in and out even if there is a line. . . Just Sayin' . . .

BTW: Just one example of a single "Gerrrymandered" District:

Wow, that really hit me...I hadn't heard about either, ... when did this happen ?
I haven't kept up with either "porch" for a while, so I missed it.
Pat and I lived fairly close and talked "vape" off and on.
I hadn't heard much from him lately with everything going on.
And, Dave ... that's a real surprise
So sorry to hear the news, but thank you for passing it on.

I don't remember the exact dates, but it was not all that long ago .. I'm sure somebody knows .. also, if anyone has links to the Funeral Home and / or obit page on either Patrick or Dave, I'd sure be interested in seeing them ..

Pat left this world on July 16, 2019. I posted it on the back porch with a link to his daughter's FB page where she was spreading the news. I don't think I ever saw/found an obit for him.

Uncle how much is your co-pay?

To answer your question and to make a very Long Story as Short as possible . . . You should not go by what I have as Co-Pays . . . I am - EXTREAMLY LUCKY - in more ways then one, especially since I could not ever afford to pay for all the Doctors I see, or the medications I take - nor the medical equipment I NEED (the only thing I had to pay-out-of-pocket was for Dentist Visits ) . . . Since Medicare started this year (and honestly before that, the only "insurance" I had was - SS Disability/FL State Medicaid for approximately the past 8 years) - I am also on the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Program (QMB) too . . . SO - I am very embarrassed (not ashamed - just embarrassed) to say that Co-Pays are very minimal, if there are any at all . . . Just Sayin' . . .

However, if "You" check out the links I provided about Medicare and all the plans that are available in that earlier post - if your 65 or older you might find that you (and your husband) are qualified for a lot of reduced or no Co-pays depending on the plan you chose (Advantage Plans would probably be best choice - however I have been told by many people that Humana is the worst) . . . :2c:
If I can be any help at all - just let "Me" know . . .

BTW: Everyone who is on Medicare (or about to become 65) really should check them out . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

WELL - Doctors, especially Primary & including Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Optometrist, etc. and now Dentist - Absolutely nothing (very rarely $2.00 for an office visit and that was only once when I saw my heart surgeon over 3 years ago) . . . Hospital Visits / ER / Surgery - No Bills or Co-pays . . . Blood Labs (every 3 months) / X-Rays / Ultra Sounds - No Bills or Co-pays . . . Prescriptions - If there is a co-payment, usually only $1.25 - $1.75, but most of the time the pharmacy where I go - the Pharmacist rights it off, especially if it is any higher (there are 2 that are over $50.00 Co-Pay) . . . Yearly Flu Shorts & Pneumonia Vaccine (last ones this year) - No Co-pays . . . Eye Glasses - now only 1 pair every 2 years (instead of every year) . . . Occasionally, when the NEED arises I can get - Visiting Home Nurse for a limited time (although I can get some other services, they are very difficult to actually get) . . . AND - All the medical equipment I have is paid for by the Medicare Advantage Plan I was assigned . . .

EDIT: BTW: I would be remissed if I did not mention that this was not easy as it sounds - it took determination & patience to not give up - many times I had to either fight - the good fight or jump through a number of hoops to get the things I NEED / approved even today too. . . . Just Sayin' . . .
