I know it's going to be tough for some to believe, given my overall pleasant personality and my utter lack of the use of sarcasm (say what .. ??
) .. however, I have 26 Disagrees .. I know, I know .. all of you are scratching your heads and saying "How can that be ..??" .. But, as they say, it is what it is ..
My first disagree was when I explained what my screen name meant. Not bad or anything. I don't put any weight behind them. Their only opinions, happens by clicking the wrong button too.
Have I mentioned I was thinking about getting a Weave and going for the Dreadlocks look .. ?? That was, until I looked into what it cost ..
On a serious note :: Tomorrow, I will be heading over to the Jefferson Barracks VA, dragging the old Martin with me and providing some resemblance of what I hope will be Entertainment for those less fortunate and shut in .. as some may remember, this has been somewhat of a Tradition with me .. certainly, I get as much out of it, or more, than the folks there .. Many of the Vets in the Old Folks Wards don't have anyone visit them, so even a small token means a lot to them ..
During the Holiday Season, I like to encourage Volunteerism .. it need not cost you anything and there are generally resources on-line within your area that can direct you toward where there may be some need .. serving or helping cook at a Church or a Shelter that may be serving a free meal, checking in on shut in's and those that don't have anyone (which can be by phone) .. there is pretty much a long list of things that have a need .. and, you'll find, those that you reach out to or help in some small way, gain a brighter day because of your effort .. and, as a bonus, you'll add a deposit to the Good Karma Bank ..
I'll tell you a short story .. a couple three years ago, I had a small audience at the VA .. when I play, an old trick I use is a medley of songs, all based on the same Blues Progression .. I general start with "Kansas City" (Wilbert Harrison) and move into other songs that pop into my head as I go along, all with the same beat and same chords .. at any rate, as I started out with "Kansas City", an old man stood up and ghost danced as if he had a partner .. at the end of the medley, he walked up to me, shook my hand and hugged me, leaning into my ear and saying "Kansas City" was my wife and I's song .. thank you, thank you, she's been gone now for some years .." ..

Every once in a while when I read someones post my mind auto-magically registers a totally different word. Weird, I guess, but whatever.
In your post my brain registered "26 Degree's" as in college degrees!!! And I thought, "I am never posting here again".

About what time should I plan on getting there .. ?? You had me at Playdough and Brined Turkey (which I don't know if I've ever had or even know what it is ..)
Had a pretty good gullywasher downpour last night, then the wind came .. by morning, everything outside looked magically dry .. and, as a bonus, got a pretty good final leaf knock down from my trees and blew most of them in Neighbors yards .. Winning ..
I just happened to run across a recipe for play dough and thought it would be fun to keep a 3 year old busy for awhile. I once tried making that liquid sand stuff a couple different ways and it was a bust. This worked much better and was simple enough to make - and much cheaper than buying it. After all the prep I think I might just grab some and find a quiet corner to to play.
Brining is just submerging the turkey in salted water with herbs for several hours. It helps to keep the bird moist and flavorful. Sometimes I brine and sometimes I don't. I've wondered how it would work to brine in buttermilk like people do with fried chicken, but don't ever recall seeing a tank truck hauling buttermilk.
Sounds like mother nature knew just what you needed - something else to be thankful for!

Good morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! It's going up to 48 today with a lot of wind. The sky is lightening up so I can see the trees whipping around outside. Haven't heard if the balloons will be grounded for the parade, but it's not looking good. I hope those of you stuck in the snow and wind stay safe!
