I started to write this and then I deleted it since I did not want anyone to think I was a Cheeseball .. (Cheapskate I'll admit to, Cheeseball, never ..) .. I talked my Neighbor into signing up as a New Customer and I'd split it with her .. so, I handed her $12 clams and got her login info .. Score .. (my .99 cent deal expired on the 26th, I think ..)

Truth is, I could have gamed the new deal, but I've fairly well milked HULU over the last year and about all I'm looking forward to is "The Handmaid's Tale" upcoming season ..

    Just an FYI ..

In my personal experience, if you can get out and about today / tomorrow, checking your local Grocers for "Turkey Clearance" can sometimes pay off .. I've scored breasts (no laughing, I'm being serious) and whole Birds for as little as 20 cents a pound the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas .. now, I do have a good size freezer to keep them in, and they last a good long time ..

I use Turkey during the year for "Turkey and Dumplings" and sometimes I'll cook one in a bag .. (tastes like Chicken .. :p)

Janet, thanks for the tip on Brining .. I looked into it further and I'm going to give it a try .. it does appear that the Bird must be All Natural .. no added liquid/etc from the Turkey Factory .. :)
Thanks for the reminder on turkey sales

Good morning Fran and Bea. I tried to catch up here last night, but just had to go to bed before answering.

Good morning everyone. I wish everyone a wonderful day

I've never heard of the brussel sprouts casserole. Care to share the recipe?

This was a recipe that was sent to me, but we agreed it would be simpler to make it into a casserole instead of taking the time to scoop out and stuff each little sprout. I did sprinkle bacon bits on top though and liked that addition. Was out of red pepper flakes so used cayenne pepper instead. Not bad, and something new for the table.

    Hola .. :)

Another solid downpour that I think started early this AM .. November has been one wet month .. had some thunder and lightning as well .. basement sump pumps working overtime .. had it been cold enough for snow, there likely would be at least a foot on the ground, I speculate ..

Looks like the folks up New England way are in for snow ..

Oh my! I would love to try this, however, I'm the only one in the house that likes Brussel Sprouts.

I got a good chuckle out of this. After one of my many knee surgeries, I was at a follow-up appointment with the surgeon and we were chatting. I mentioned how I was thinking of a way to convince Nancy how to get a new truck. He got a good laugh out of the thought, grabbed his prescription pad and wrote me a "prescription" for a "new Ford F-150 with all the bells and whistles". Nancy got a good laugh out of it but I didn't get the pickup.
Well, I survived the shoppers yesterday and managed to get a pretty good deal (36% off) on a 13 cu. ft. upright frost-free freezer. I did pay an additional small fee for them to haul off the old one.

Sure does look that way.....don't think hubby and I could handle the cold anymore.......we were both supposed to go up North for a week and leave Nov. 20th.....after I gave him some googy eyes, I said that I really did not want to go.......he said.....ok, no problem, honey. So, he went up and stayed 3 days to see his ailing sisters, then came back by the 20th......he couldn't wait to get back and drove straight thru on the way home. 18 hours of nonstop driving, except for gas, of course.

I wish that we had purchased an upright freezer rather than the chest freezer we have in the garage........it's big enough, but I still would have preferred an upright.

More blooming orchids I don't remember if I posted a couple of these already.

Beautiful, as usual......girl, you do have magic touch with those orchids.

I'm sure glad they're not coming our way! Stay warm, my friend!

@Flowersoul 18 hours of driving!!! I'd never make it. Your hubby could probably pull off the road, grab a 5 minute nap and be ready to go again! Riding in a car has always put me to sleep. The only thing worse is having to fly. I'm so glad our daughter only lives an hour away now so no more trips to the airport to visit her!!
