Hola .. :)

From the "Random Beef of the Day" File

For about 5 minutes, the old standard incandescent lightbulb was suddenly bad news, and we were encouraged to switch to CFLs, or compact fluorescent light bulbs .. I still liked the warm glow of the old-school bulbs, but I did spring for some CFL's .. they seemed a bit expensive at the time, but were touted as being more Energy Efficient, etc .. and, there were rumors that the old-school bulbs would become extinct ..

On the 6th minute, suddenly LED became the rage .. and, if memory serves, were even more expensive than the CFL .. I had not even used up or burned out the CFL's that I did buy ..

During a constant round of Light Bulb "Upgrade", I wonder if there really was any monetary savings .. o_O

Switched to CFLs a long time back, and slowly moving to LED.

Either are, imo, much better, especially in the ceiling lights that need a ladder to change. Have two of those in a hall, one in the laundry.

Going 7 or 8 years without changing a bulb is nice :)

I tried a few CFL's, but really didn't like them much. I've switched over to LED's on everything now that I can get the brighter, daylight color for a good price. They do last longer than incandescents, and my electric bill went down a noticeable amount. The other bonus in the summer is that I can have the lights on and they don't heat up the house like the incandescents did.

We are working on switching all the indoor lights to LED. Most have been switched. We do notice a change in our electric bill (it's lower! YAY!!). The prices are coming down too.

I'm a little late to the ballgame but I am at least on the field now. I haven't really used Amazon Prime for more than shopping. Today, I went in and looked around Prime Video. I located some old series I liked, Deadwood and Dr. Who that I have added to my watchlist. I also added The Vikings since it was recommended and also found a sci-fi series The Expanse that I have started watching. I think I have started watching. I believe I am going to be using Prime a whole lot more in the future. I will eventually set up my TV so I can watch Prime Video on it vice my laptop. With an additional video monitor hooked up to the laptop, it isn't a priority for now. I can only handle so much new tech in one day.:blink:

'Morning everyone...

Or....maybe I should say good night...o_O Finally finished the painting I was doing for a Christmas gift, and heading for my bed.

Really happy that I use LED bulbs in the lights I use for painting. When you're pinching pennies and spending endless hours with two lamps on, 14 watt daylight LED beats the heck out of 100 watt incandescent...;)

Hope y'all have a great day....catch you later...

Hola .. :)

Well, the legal Weed shops are all gearing up for January 1st .. the State gave existing Medicinal Dispensaries a bit of a leg up on the licensing issues .. which, I guess makes sense .. the Municipalities are mixed on whether they will allow it sold within their respective areas .. one City Council member was quoted as saying "Well, we can either let it happen or one will open up 10 miles down the road .. we may as well capture those Tax Dollars .."

I've had a Card for some time, and, I've advocated for Legalization since the late 1960's / early 1970's .. still, I think it's going to be just a little weird to be able to buy Pot just like you would booze ..

Early on, just before Cali went full legal, I seriously looked into getting in the Business in some capacity .. the latest numbers show that it's likely good that I did not .. there seems to be an ever growing glut .. Weed is easy to grow, after all, it's Weed .. o_O .. and, street prices are a good bit lower than over-the-counter prices .. street sellers (which, for the most part, don't really work on the street) have now been offering various selections that do various things, just like what a Dispensary would do .. so, the line blurs as you'd expect it would ..

Back in the old days, you'd get a bag, generally an ounce, many called it a "lid" .. it was mostly stems/seeds and leaves, cost $8.00 clams .. it was nothing to have a few folks over and go thru one in an evening .. it was pretty mild stuff .. in Todays World, you've really got to watch yourself, since Genetic Engineering over the years has made it so the stuff will blow your head off if you over indulge ..
