street prices are a good bit lower than over-the-counter prices .. street sellers (which, for the most part, don't really work on the street) have now been offering various selections that do various things, just like what a Dispensary would do .. so, the line blurs as you'd expect it would ..
So if you buy it on the street and get caught are you charged with tax evasion?
Here in the OKC area, there appears to be a "dispensary" on every corner. The world has taken a 180. You can buy weed in a store and have to buy flavored ejuice from the guy in the back alley.
I went to my Dr. for my monthly pain management checkup. On the way home I stopped at "Half-Price Books" and did some browsing. I treated myself to a couple of Steven King graphic novels. Some things are best in an actual book form vice ebook. :thumb::thumb:

Well, Jerry, I don't know about Tax Evasion, but the Convenience Store Industry is lobbying for the right to sell it at your local Quick Trip, 7-11, etc .. "Need some weed to go with that Twinkie .. ??" .. or "I see you bought some weed, would you like a Twinkie or three to go with that .. ??"

Another weird factoid, at least I thought it was weird :: School nurses and administrators can now provide medical cannabis to students who are registered patients of the Medical Cannabis Pilot Program .. (it made me wonder if school nurses and administrators will be bringing a stash to the school) .. o_O

Hola .. :)

Well, the legal Weed shops are all gearing up for January 1st .. the State gave existing Medicinal Dispensaries a bit of a leg up on the licensing issues .. which, I guess makes sense .. the Municipalities are mixed on whether they will allow it sold within their respective areas .. one City Council member was quoted as saying "Well, we can either let it happen or one will open up 10 miles down the road .. we may as well capture those Tax Dollars .."

I've had a Card for some time, and, I've advocated for Legalization since the late 1960's / early 1970's .. still, I think it's going to be just a little weird to be able to buy Pot just like you would booze ..

Early on, just before Cali went full legal, I seriously looked into getting in the Business in some capacity .. the latest numbers show that it's likely good that I did not .. there seems to be an ever growing glut .. Weed is easy to grow, after all, it's Weed .. o_O .. and, street prices are a good bit lower than over-the-counter prices .. street sellers (which, for the most part, don't really work on the street) have now been offering various selections that do various things, just like what a Dispensary would do .. so, the line blurs as you'd expect it would ..

Back in the old days, you'd get a bag, generally an ounce, many called it a "lid" .. it was mostly stems/seeds and leaves, cost $8.00 clams .. it was nothing to have a few folks over and go thru one in an evening .. it was pretty mild stuff .. in Todays World, you've really got to watch yourself, since Genetic Engineering over the years has made it so the stuff will blow your head off if you over indulge ..

We were full legal before Cal, and yes, there were both some growing pains, being the second, after CO, iirc. Uncharted territory then. Balancing supply and demand, within what each State might allow, is not for the faint of heart, I'd think :)

And while I'm sure the prior distribution systems are still there, it's nice to finally just enter a shop. But convenience store sales aren't on the horizon.

Good morning! It's 17 outside (real feel 6) going up to 27 today. Brrrr! Yesterday we went to Hux's first Christmas program at his preschool. While all the other kids sang he just stood there with his hands in his pockets except when he was picking his nose. He said he only wanted to sing Jingle Bells. So cute! I think he just wanted it to be over so he could go downstairs for cookies and lemonade.

Good morning. It's 19 outside going all the way up to 34 today. It's funny, but every calendar I've seen lists the first day of winter as tomorrow.
Since Spring and Fall are nothing more than a brief blip on the radar anymore, I think they should change all of the calendars to show only Summer and Winter...;) I miss my favorite two seasons that have gone missing for the most part...:(

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has a good day today!

Its currently 33 with a high of 61 predicted. I need to remind someone this is Louisiana but I don't know with whom to lodge my complaint. Living in Louisiana means complaining about the weather. It's either way too hot or occasionally too cold. Once in a blue moon the temperature is perfect but we don't talk about that.

    Good morning:)

Last night I watched an old Criminal Minds episode (partly because of that hottie Shemar Moore :p) in which the braniac Dr Reid brought up the Finobacci sequence. Me, being a curious person I had to look that up. Turns out to be mathematics-related and quite a fascinating concept…even to someone like me whose brain doesn't compute math…I managed to flunk 2nd grade math if you can believe it . Anyway if you have nothing better to do here are two links. The first one explains it and the second one shows how it is all over nature, which fascinates me since my working career was nature-related for many years.

    Fibonacci number - Wikipedia

In school I was taught that the winter months are Dec 1 - end of Febr, spring months are March 1 - end of May and so on. So as far as I'm concerned each season starts on the first of its assigned month. Hubs thinks I'm funny

Winter Solstice is 11:19 PM, your time, Janet. Some see that as the "start" of winter, but looking at much older traditions, it's MID-winter, so winter in that sense starts about 6 weeks earlier, on what's often called Samhain, on or near Oct. 31. While the coldest times are, usually, still to come, the Winter
Solstice marks the return of the sun, as it will start to go higher in the sky each day until Mid-Summer.

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has a good day today!

Sounds like here, where we complain about the rain until it gets dry, then wish for it :)

And here it is, nearly an inch overnight, more to come until (maybe?) late tomorrow. Sure need the snowpack!
