This will be me on Christmas Eve...

Christmas Eve will be had with SIL's family this year and I've just been informed his Mother has set a required theme, 'Ugly Christmas Sweater'...
Don't own one, and certainly not going to spend money on something that will never be worn again, so...I'm going to paint on one of my sweatshirts... Haven't decided if it will be the Grinch or Jack Skellington...

Jack Skellington - Is just to cute . . . If Ya' really want to have an ugly "Sweater", besides checking out a thrift store to get one that's already done over the top . . . With your excellent creativity - IMHO - I'm sure Ya' can come up with something . . . A few Lights, Santa - Just his head, Elf's/Raindeer, Decorated Trees, Christmas Carolers, OH - How about a sweater with a "MENCH" ! ! ! on a Bench . . .

LOL....Jack Skellington is cute, but since Granddaughter has been hosting annual Halloween parties...at least he would cover two holidays...

To be honest, I was seriously considering just writing "Bah! Humbug!"... I just don't understand setting a theme such as this for a Christmas gathering. While I consider myself more of an agnostic than a believer, I always emphasized what the true meaning of Christmas was for my children...

Same - Agnostic here too . . .

NOW - As for the reason for the theme . . . At times it can be quite FUN (well when they first started over 20 years ago), especially to see who could out do the other with the craziness . . . Sometimes there was a reward for the person with the "Ugliest Sweater" - which was an even "Uglier Sweater" that the person had to wear the next year . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Good morning. For some reason I woke at 4:00 a.m. Can't imagine why, but we're babysitting the boys tonight and I'm sure their parents won't be home till midnight and then we have a 45 minute drive home. THAT's when I need to be awake, not now!

Yesterday I decided rather than buying a garland for the mantle I'd just cut some greens from one of the white pines in our back yard. After all, with all these pine trees it's stupid to go out and buy greens right? Good grief! Not only is there pine sap to deal with, but every time I'd try to add a 3rd or 4th piece to the mantle the 1st and 2nd ones would fall off. Tape and floral wire helped somewhat, but a 15 minute job ended up taking an hour. After all that I finally found the string of lights, thought they got tossed last year. After checking to make sure they worked I very, very carefully laid them amongst the greenery and poinsettias and pinecones, picking up the ones that fell as I went along. Plugged them in to admire my handiwork and - nothing! The lights mostly didn't work! Must be a broken wire in there somewhere. I should have just baked cookies.

Had to laugh on Wednesday when we stopped at our daughters house on the way to Hux's preschool Christmas program. Her tree was up, but was only decorated on the top half. It was easy to tell toddlers lived there.

I have the same issue... For the sake of my grandchildren and family dynamics and because it is Christmas, I began painting my sweatshirt last night. If that's not considered sufficient...too bad...

Its currently 50 with a high of 54 predicted. My arthritis is hating this cold! And yes, I know it's not cold to the northerners but when the average temp is normally 85 this is cold!

Rain continues, and while the snow level has gone up some, so far not catastrophically. Warm rain on heavy snow bodes ill for many downstream, who persist in building on flood plains. (And no, we didn't! )

Other than the one-of "eco-friendly" unit I Posted .. this Season has had more than it's fair share of "I had this guitar when I was a teen, it's been in the closet many years. I'd like to give it to my Son/Daughter/Grandson/Grandaughter this Christmas. Can you give it a make-over ..??" .. had a couple of violins and a cello as well, same story ..
