Good afternoon everybody. Actually I was here at 6:30 when nobody else was up, but was just skimming through several sites and never made it back here! I'm searching the internet for houses for our daughter. That can last a few hours! We're off to run errands now.

China is one of those countries that is known to not be fully truthful .. I would seriously suspect that their Official Info on the coronavirus is inaccurate and likely artificially low ..

This outbreak is simply another indication of how fragile we really are ..
I don't think the officials in ANY country are truthfull about anything, including USA and China. I think we always get the bare minimum and often only after a situation is discovered and the cat is out of the bag

All this illness and death in teens and younger from vaping recently. Heck, many of us have been vaping since the early 2000s ( started in Dec 2012) with no reported problems. Heck, I had my annual physical last week (gonna live another year and the "girls" are good) and my doctor said my lungs sound fantastic!

Yeah, started in Oct '12, so vaping has aged me another 7+ years. If only I hadn't vaped, since it clearly is the cause of aging.

'Afternoon everyone...

Definitely not 'Good'...and I'm about to rant over how much I despise the USPS...:-x I have spent the entire day so far trying to straighten out the mess they have made with my address. When I moved into this apartment over 5 years ago, I signed a lease for Apt. A, but first time I tried to order online USPS didn't recognize that and orders needed to be sent to Ste 1 as the proper one to use. So...I used Ste 1 everywhere. During this time I have received mail addressed both ways with no issues. Recently, the 2 times I ordered from new places, I would get a pop up advising Apt A instead....Today I was supposed to get a small item from Amazon and it was NOT delivered because USPS couldn't locate Ste 1!! I've had to go online and change the address with every place I order from...call Amazon because their system wasn't letting me make the correct change...call SS and make the change....call my bank... Will have to arrange transportation to the DMV and the PO because neither site will make the proper change... It's taken over 5 years for them to update my address from a business designation with Ste 1 to residential Apt A and they obviously could care less how much they have screwed things up. On top of that, I have an order in transit with Fed Ex and no way to know if they're messed up as well.

Can you use both? Ste 1, Apt A? What if you can catch the mailman? Do you have any problems with UPS or FedEx?

They used to have postcards to the Inspector General on the desk in the post office where you could write down your complaint. I did that once and actually got a call from them.

No. Can't use both any longer. Tried to change address online and it wouldn't let me because it kept saying Ste 1 was an invalid address. Checked on the package in transit with Fed Ex...it's Fed Ex smart post, which will be handed off to the USPS for delivery...:( Sent up a flare and hoping I can get a ride to a PO... I'm exhausted by this and will try calling DMV tomorrow since the online address change isn't working correctly. I won't even be able to apply for "real ID" until all of this mess is straightened out...

I have no way to know if UPS or Fed Ex uses address locations provided by USPS for their actual deliveries... I've changed everything I can for anything ordered in the future...just don't want to lose what's in transit...

Hah! I routinely have a check sent from one company. Always sent to the same address. Three months ago it was sent to the same address, and it was returned because "No such address". It was sent to my PO Box, and they couldn't find it in their own damn post office!

I'm mostly lucky to be in a small town on a small side street. My address when we bought the house was Zero. It was on the deed and the real estate tax bill. Then enhanced 911 came along and they can't handle a 0 so they changed me to 2A. Since my real estate bill still says Zero, I continue to use it as my mailing address. I can tell when there's a new person at the PO because my mail goes next door to #2. That generally gets sorted out quickly. UPS, Amazon and FedEx drivers have gotten to know the difference too (#2 gets a lot of packages, me not so many). I put a note in my Amazon delivery instructions that I'm the first house on the left and that seems to help. Before that packages were delivered to #1 (across the street), #3 - this one must have used GPS because 2A is technically a telephone pole in my yard and across the street from #3 - and #2. Sheesh.

When 911 came through in NJ, they not only changed how many digits were in my address, they changed the names of streets. Somebody had a sense of humor though, because without moving an inch I suddenly lived at 34 Easy Street, and my next door neighbors found themselves living on the corner of Quick and Easy...

I've had nothing but problems for what seems like forever with USPS and only twice with UPS in as many years as I can remember, never a problem with Fed Ex. This whole issue I'm dealing with now could have been avoided if they'd had the decency to notify people of an impending change to status of address...

I can't catch up so I will just say hello. Not been a good year so far as I lost my firstborn and am in a war with a neighbor who won't keep his dog off my property. I twisted my bad knee trying to prevent their dog from attacking me or my dogs.

Oh well, life goes on and I hope things are great for all of you.
Oh, am so sorry for your loss! A lot of us have lost children and so, your pain is appreciated. Prayers sent for strength!

Yea, not a good start to 2020. A young teenager (14) from our neighborhood was killed in a motorcycle accident last Thursday and we're rallying around the families. So unavoidable! He was on the back with a 20 year old driver with no helmet......the 20 year old is still in critical condition in the hospital and his family is in extreme turmoil. They were neighbors two houses apart. The neighborhood is in shock at such a senseless tragedy, and the family, naturally, is not doing well....so much anger and sadness!
I just got back from delivering a Meal Train dinner and the feeling of helplessness is daunting. We're a close knit neighborhood and when someone is hurting or needs any kind of help whatsoever, we rally, but this feels so different.

Hola .. :)

A year or so ago, I actually had a Porch Pirate (now they have their own name, they used to just be called Thieves ..) .. make off with an order that UPS had left on my home front stoop .. it was not a hugely expensive item, Bed in a Bag, maybe $80 clams ..

At any rate, it showed delivered on the tracking and it was quite the nuisance to get the place I ordered it from (Macy's) to send me another or a refund .. I ended up having to dispute the charge on my CC to get any satisfaction ..

Fast forward to the next order being delivered by UPS .. they left a note that said "Someone must be home in order for us to deliver the order .. " .. turned out, somehow my address had been flagged as some sort of Danger Zone for deliveries .. I felt like they were treating me as if I were the Criminal ..

I called UPS and they refused to budge .. I don't live in the Ghetto, so it really did tee me off and still kinda does .. they would not even consider leaving one of those sticky notes that says "Sign This and Stick it on the Door and We'll Deliver your Package Even if You're not Here .. " .. yeah, I'm sure UPS likely had to cough up an insurance claim by Macy's, I get that .. but geeze, I've lived in the place 30 something years now with just this one incident ..

My Mail Lady, if she sees my truck in the driveway, will sit in her Postal Mini-Carrier and honk, expecting me to walk out and get anything that won't fit in the Mailbox, because she's too durn lazy to walk up to the door .. Postal People used to walk residential suburban areas ..

At any rate, I now just have stuff delivered to the workshop .. then I have to schlepp it home .. I understand as well as anyone that UPS and the like get to be under more and more pressure to deliver quicker, they have a quota .. but hey, if you're just going to leave stuff on the porch and drive off, to me, that's like asking for trouble and exactly how the whole "Porch Pirate" bit started ..

Then, the tech companies can sell you a nice Surveillance camera rig, so a whole new market springs up because of Thievery ..

How about new subdivisions that don't have mailboxes .. ?? They have a "Central Mailbox Dispenser" ..

With the issues that crop up as it relates to shipping, if the Drone Delivery ever becomes a reality, you think it's bad now, just wait ..
