Excuse my rant...

Every day when they put their daily briefing on.....I have to turn off the TV before I throw something at it. I'm sick and tired of graphs and charts and BS... It's real people, living breathing human beings, who are dying with this....not stupid marks on charts!!!

Saturday afternoon family gathering Covid style using Zoom. We had a good time chit-chatting and actually getting to see each other.

Think I'm going to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies today and freeze most of the dough. I always intend to do that, but end up baking the whole batch and then eating them all. Restraint! Self-control! I can do it this time! Yes, I can! (my new attempt at self improvement)

LOL! It didn’t work for me two days ago. I too baked a half Batch and put half in the freezer. We ate all the ones I didn’t freeze and the next day we thawed and ate the rest. No more baking cookies for us!

We have been pretty good with cookies. Making 1/2 batch at a time, we allow ourselves 1 cookie each/day. OK, sometimes we cheat (oatmeal cookies for breakfast ? Hey, it's oatmeal!!), but overall really try to stick to our "schedule". 2 pm is cookie and nap time

Nap time sounds great to me. Caught myself nodding off a couple of times yesterday. It could have been the rain. It's all good as we needed it. Hopefully we'll get a good gusher again today.

(I can't remember the last time I slept for over 3 hours straight!)

Heard this over in the Provari room. Just your average father / daughter duet. Nope! Not at all.

Have you guys discovered this amazing father and daughter team? Since Covid-19, they started putting out videos. The daughter is 15 years old. They are simply amazing and uplifting. They may not have been famous before the pandemic, but they certainly will be now.

Ever considered "Covid-19" care packages, especially ones with a few "Oatmeal Rasin" cookies for all of "Us" who are "Self-Isolated' and so lonely that NEED some "Loving Mother/Grandma" home baked goods as a comforting "HUG" right now . . .
(Not that "My" mother ever really made cookies unless they came frozen/packaged, but Grandma & Aunt Mary that's another story . . . )

I think I've seen maybe 3 of them since the beginning......can't stand the queasiness in my belly when it was on. The news filters in either from my family or friends.....don't have to watch it, and that goes for the news stations, for that matter. I've been watching NGW and movies.....a lot less stressful! Right now, Wild Australia is on, and after awhile we'll will take a walk in the neighborhood.

I LOVE Pentatonix! Here is their version of Bohemian Rhapsody.. keep in mind this is all acapella... just for entertainment value...

@Janet H…or anyone else who likes to bake…here is a custard and fruit pie recipe you’ll like. Very easy and versatile. The crust is an Amish recipe given to me by a client at the vet hospital where I worked. The filling recipe came from a coworker.

PAT-IN-PAN PIE CRUST
1½ cups flour
½ cup oil
1½ tsp sugar
3 Tbsp milk

Place flour and sugar in 8” or 9” pie pan. Mix. Pour in oil & milk. Mix with fork til flour mixture is completely moistened. Pat dough to shape into crust.

CUSTARD PIE FILLING
3/4 cup milk
1 cup fruit (blueberries, strawberries, bananas or a mix)
3 eggs
½ cup sugar

Beat eggs, add sugar, beat til sugar dissolves. Add milk and pour over fruit. Pour the whole thing into pie crust. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat and bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes. If center is not solid, bake another 10-15 minutes.

I've never heard of them…they’re excellent! So I checked some more of their stuff on youtube and they sing two of my all-time favorites too and brought tears to my eyes.


Wait till you see the ending on “Imagine”. I'm crying.

I went to a concert with a friend a few years ago. She had won tickets to the concert. Turns out it was for Pentatonix. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
