Been high 30s / low 40s the last few mornings, warming up to low 60s. I think fall is here :)

No real rain, although we've had occasional showers. We have various classifications, and rumor control central has always said some of the local tribes have 40 words for rain, from Noah was right to clouds spitting at us. Been mostly at the spitting end, but we'll take whatever we can get. (Although at this time, if it went south and hosed down CA that would be fine!)

Hubs back pain has been getting rather bad again. He called the hospital to make an appointment for his next shot. It's usually at least a month's wait but they had a cancellation and his appointment is for next Tuesday.

    Good that someone cancelled!

Don't know the specifics, of course, but my wife has low back issues (stenosis, collapsing discs, etc) and finds our inversion table provides a lot of relief. The gentle "de-compression" helps her. Maybe?

While, of course, not fixing the underlying problems (and she's already "ok" for surgery that may or may not work....), she finds that 2 or 3 times daily does alleviate much (no, not all, darn it!) of her pain. Keeping the knife at bay is a good thing!

Just got home from chiro. She approved my internet gleaning of washcloths wetted with Epsom salt solution and heated rice-bags. I may do that every night. Of course, hiking sticks for longer walks, and one stick for outside apt keep me upright. I am a centrist, I do not even lean to the right. ;)

I have a wide assortment of "Back Relief Devices" .. although I do not have an Inversion Table .. I have seen the Teeter infomercial and I've flirted with buying one .. just have not convinced myself to get past the price .. they do seem to make sense .. if I was a Young Man, I would consider those Gravity Boots .. but, if I were a Young Man, I'd likely not need them .. :) .. and I seriously doubt my ability to manually hang myself by my heels .. o_O

    Massage Chair .. check
    Multiple TENS units .. check
Heating Pad / Ice Bag .. check
    Various Roller Devices .. check
Torquemada Designed Back Stretcher with which to Lay Down On .. check

My DR will no longer dispense the Good Drugs to me, falsely claiming I like them too much .. :( (well, OK, there is a slim chance he may be right) .. my Era of Self Medication Thru Liquid Repast had to be semi-curtailed .. :( .. I carry a Card that allows me access to a certain Medicinal Herb, which is, in fact, quite helpful yet makes me wake up in the recliner at 3:00 AM .. :(

Shots never really helped .. maybe a couple weeks of relief .. and my Know It All DR cautions against surgery unless I begin to become heavily impaired .. :( .. claiming it's a Crap Shoot ..

Maybe I'll ask Mr/Ms Google if there are any St Louis places I could "Rent an Inversion" .. just to see if it's for me .. :)

While inverted, everything in the back (and other joints as well) loosens up, stretches out, but in a very gentle way. I punched out a windshield the start of my Sr year of high school - from the inside, with my head. The injuries from the accident, to my neck, have caused problems for me since, and of course are getting a bit worse every year. The table even helps with that, as gravity, when inverted, allows that area to open up as well.

And one doesn't have to go completely inverted to see benefits. Pat keeps the strap on the table, so it only goes about 45 degrees inverted.

Maybe I'll ask Mr/Ms Google if there are any St Louis places I could "Rent an Inversion" .. just to see if it's for me ..

I wonder if a local gym might have one you could try? Yeah, it's a bit of an investment up front. I started hanging by my feet while in college, pre Teeter, so when Pat started getting her back problems, it was an easy choice for me.

Or, you could come out to WA and try ours :)

Turns out, there are a few places in STL that rent or let you pay by the session ..

I've come pretty close to buying one .. my search turned up Teeter having a 30 day trial for 15 clams .. with a Money Back Guarantee .. I don't know if that includes free return shipping if you don't like it ..

Official Teeter Inversion Table – Back Pain Relief in 30 Days. FDA-Cleared Device - TeeterTV.com

BTW, be careful what you wish for .. especially invites .. :)

Home from my bi-monthly shopping...everything put away and that inversion table sounds wonderful about now... I wonder if I could sip my Cabernet while upside down? Not making light of back/spine issues.....I'm in the same boat with any of you who have these problems...;)
