I have a dble. Shepherds hook pole with Four feeders on it and three large bricks bracing it. I just looked out the window and the whole thing is lying on the ground.

I took down my Hummingbird feeders yesterday .. I've not seen one in at least a week .. decided to put my deck plants in the garage yesterday as well, at least for a few days .. Weather Prognosticators here are talking temps in the 40's at nighttime in the City .. so I always deduct a few degrees .. better safe than sorry .. some of these things I've nursed along and propagated over 15 years now .. :)

I checked predicted temps before going to bed and brought in my coleus. It is a splendid specimen.

Like this. I also pulled my squash plants a few days ago and put them on the porch to continue ripening. Two squash have been stolen.

We've seen the tree rats double teaming the bird feeders. One will jump to the feeder and do his (her?) best to shake all the seed out, the other on the ground packing it in...

They're too damn smart for your own good!

My biggest complaint about the little furry beasts when I had a garden, was that they dug up all my tulip bulbs and ate them. They don't touch daffodils because they're toxic, but tulips appear to be a gourmet treat.. . Of course there was the time that I came outside to see that one of them had got into my shed and filched a 30 yard spool of bright yellow satin ribbon.... It streamed across a shrub and high up into a tree was the biggest pretty yellow squirrels nest I'd ever seen...:D

I have to say, I feel about 125 years old today .. yesterday, all day in the yard mowing and mulching, hauling big plants around, vacuumed and dusted the basement Man Cave .. :( ..
