Good morning everyone!! I'm going to get my eye injected again today. I should also find out about surgery. I have a ton of questions before I let them operate on my eye even if it is already blind.

Good thoughts and a prayer for a successful outcome! It's good you're asking all those questions.........it's even better if you ask if you could record the responses.

Great idea, recording the session. We've done that in the past, especially the times we were going through a lot of sessions prior to MIL getting a heart valve replaced. I was using a digital voice recorder at that time, and, of course, a smart phone makes it even easier.

Lots of questions can arise, and be answered, and forgotten as soon as you're out the door. The recording was a blessing! And we did ask first, all the docs were fine with it.

Good news!! I got my eye injected again and the retina specialist said the injections were working and the blood behind my eye is being absorbed! Also the injection finally started to kill off and absorb the veins and stuff that's growing where it shouldn't and dumping all that blood in the first place! Thanks to all this he doesn't think I'll have to have surgery after all. Yay!!!

Edit: I almost forgot to thank y'all for your support and prayers. I'm sure it helped!

Good morning :)

Rained most of the night, but clear for now. Expecting more later!

Was going to take my walk, but not really in the zone right now.

Need to get to the store, but only need a few things! A few months ago, I wouldn't have given a second thought for those few items, but now, unfortunately, trying to wait till the list gets longer to eliminate short trips.

Frssh veggies and fruits are the items that need the most frequent buying , and both of these can't be stocked for more than a week, and it's been 2 weeks since we've been in the store!

Good morning friends!

Another scorcher day...:(

I love being outdoors...but can't tolerate this long-term heat.

I have to keep the blinds and the curtains closed most of the day...but at least i have a yard! I have a bay window facing the yard, so I figured out to pull the blackout drapes over the three windows and have the one drape that faces the flower garden n bird feeders open early in the morning and then late afternoons with the blinds a little more than halfway down....just enough to be able to look outside.

I know...at least I'm fortunate to have a yard!

Stay safe!!!

Good morning. Geez, feels like I need gills it's so humid outside. It's so heavy out there! We did get some rain and the grass looks a little better, but we need a soaking rain. Mostly we've just got the clouds and the storms are passing us by.

Aren't we lucky to be able to be cool inside! Stay inside and enjoy your view! I think the older we get the less we tolerate the heat. Even the critters are looking to cool off. The squirrels come onto the deck and immediately lay down flat on the stomachs, especially in the shade under the table. Sometimes I see the birds sitting on the fence with their wings held away from their bodies and their beaks are open. Looks like they're panting.

We did the same thing…recorded on my iphone…when we had the surgery discussion with my cardiologist…of course we got his permission. Otherwise by the time we got home we'd be asking each other “what did the doc say about…”

We still do all our grocery ordering with Walmart's curbside pickup. The fresh fruits and veggies have all been excellent quality except zucchini and yellow squash. Gary has to run in for those but that’s a really short trip versus a couple hours to get everything else. You should try it and it’s free as long as you have $35 minimum.

https://www.walmart.com/grocery/ or download the app.

We’re thinking about installing an outdoor security camera. We’re thinking wireless, maybe connected to our phones. We don’t want anything with a bazillion bells and whistles. I’ve done a lot of research on the subject but there are so many and the prices are all over the place.

Do any of you have one? Comments?

Hola ..

The current heatwave here in Fly Over Country is just brutal .. heat indexes above 100o, it's already in the high '80's by 10 AM .. the air conditioning is working overtime and I'm sure the Electric Company will be getting a nice windfall .. humidity is high and thick ..

I took in 6 instruments for repair since Monday and a special order to build a new guitar for an old customer .. so, I'm at the grindstone .. the workshop is in a 100 year old building and although my central air unit is fairly new, it's lucky to get the indoor temp down to 78o and that's a few hours after I turn it on in the morning ..

Oh, well .. July .. what can you do .. ??

And, so much for the theory that Covid would slow down in the Summer ..

We have a farm stand in town. Vegetables are all fresh. Everyone (for the most part) wears a mask and respects social distancing. We generally go once a week and get our fresh veggies.

Yeah, I stopped at the Farmers Market yesterday and picked up a load of new potatoes and green beans .. going to throw a ham hock or three in the old pressure cooker and cook 'em up .. pound out a couple boneless pork chops, bread and fry those up for some pork schnitzel .. chase it with a couple or three ice cold Miller Genuine Drafts .. :D
