I had a habit of doing a lot of sketching when my kids were small so many years ago. I never learned from a book but I got really good at it. I guess I don’t have the inspiration I used to. I bought a few books and slowly getting back into it. Not paintings like yiddle does. Just pencil sketches. I never did color before and not really that crazy about it but maybe later.

Good morning and Happy July 4th to everyone!

Yesterday was so much fun. We had the family here for some pool time and burgers and dogs on the grill. It's so much easier in the pool now that all the kids are comfortable floating around with their swimmies on. It was very hectic and noisy, but everybody pitched in and pool and kitchen are cleaned up. Our daughter and family stayed for the night so any minute now people will be waking up. At the moment it's peacefully quiet.

After 1/2 the family left and little Brody was put to bed we settled in to watch Hamilton which was streaming on Disney+. We only made it through the first hour and had to head up to bed. Hopefully we'll get to watch the rest of it tonight. Good show, but I'm glad it was captioned because I would have missed half the rapid fire dialog!

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
    Hola .. :)

Man, the 'hood was literally poppin' last night ..

Mowed about 3/4ths of the yard this AM, before it really, really started to heat up .. I'll finish this evening when it starts to cool down ..

Bea, while I do appreciate your post on the eating out thing, the few places I've visited were doing a good job in a sanitary sense .. I don't know about air-conditioning spread, but for me, I just can't go on being a hermit forever .. there comes a point when you just have to try and get back to some sort of normalcy .. is it a risk .. ?? Yeah, I guess so, but I'm following the "rules of the road" as best as possible ..

Janet & Mike .. you make me wish I could crash your pool parties .. and, yes, I still know how to swim .. :p

If you have not used the Disney+ 7 day free trial, get it and watch "Hamilton", or, fercryinoutloud, even pay for a month .. it's that good .. it is the absolutely perfect 4th of July Weekend show .. and, tilt back some cold ones and throw a shrimp on the barbie .. chin chin .. :)

Good morning! Going up to 92 and sunny today, but the humidity should be better so that's a relief.

LOTS of boomers and fireworks around here last night. It looked like they were all backyard events though. Usually I'm standing out on the deck trying to see them over the trees, but last night we were watching Hamilton. We started it Friday night, but were exhausted after a day with the kids so we went to bed. Didn't get to finish it last night either because we were tired and also because the show kept getting interrupted so we had to keep restarting it. It's a great show, but if you don't enable the captions you'd miss most of what was being said. Rapid fire songs and some dialog. It helps if you know a little about Hamilton before watching it. Maybe we'll try to finish it up today.

Tonight we'll have our daughter's 2 boys here for the night and all day Monday and at least part of Tues. They're having settlement on their new house on Tues so everything has to be packed up and ready to put in the truck on Monday. We're trying to figure out how to let Hux see some of the packing into the truck so he understands what's happening. Seems strange to have him brought here and then just take him to the new house on Tues without understanding what happened to the old house. I'd imagine a little kid might get worried that at any time his house could change. We'd like to try to explain this is NOT something that happens all the time!

    Good morning! :)

Not much goin on here today so will spend some quiet quality time getting caught up on my books!

Yes. Too damn hot to do anything outside. Mike just came in from getting rid of a mound left from having tree roots ground. Some weeds started trying to be trees in the mounds and he figured he better get rid of them before we had to call another tree guy. It's just too hot out there!!

I stayed inside and learned how to change the sheets on our split king bed. We've only had it for 9 mo and I figured there had to be a better way than I was doing it. Good old Youtube. Evidently the guy who sold us the bed never watched the video.

Good morning. It's another hot one with T-storms called for later today. Looks like the forecast has changed and they're calling for T-storms every day for the next week. 2 days ago there wasn't much rain forecast at all. So the big question still is, to water or not????

Today is moving day for our daughter. We'll be picking up the kids around noon to get them out from under foot. The truck will show up this morning so they'll get to see what that's all about and then we'll bring them here and their parents will come here to sleep. They've been up since 4:00 this morning so I expect they'll go to bed the same time as the kids!

Well, the simple answer is, if you water it will rain, if you don't water it won't rain. Seems that's the norm here, anyway :)

We're in, so they say, for a mostly dry spell this week, although temps are still nice. May be some rain tomorrow AM, but when they talk of "scattered showers", well, than can mean any specific place will either be inundated or bone dry.

Yep, that's usually the case with rain here too.

Oh, forgot to mention. We had a visitor at our bird feeder here yesterday morning.
