@Uncle Willie This was a response last week from our senator. So, I'm confused, this doesn't say the USPS can't deliver vape packages. Did this not pass the House and they came up with a new one? Is our senator clueless about what just got passed?
Dated 7-23-20 Thank you for contacting me about the Preventing Online Sales of E-Cigarettes to Children Act (S. 1253). I appreciate hearing from you.
Specific to your concerns, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced S. 1253 on
April 30, 2019. Among its provisions, this legislation would subject electronic nicotine delivery systems, commonly known as e-cigarettes, to certain laws regulating traditional cigarette sales. In particular, this bill would require age verification for all e-cigarette sales, require an adult to be present when e-cigarettes are delivered, and mandate that shipping labels identify if a package contains an e-cigarette.
S. 1253 is currently pending before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary. Although I am not a member of this committee, I appreciate knowing your views on this subject and will keep your thoughts in mind as this measure progresses through the legislative process.
Thank you again for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of assistance.
Sincerely,
Pat Toomey
U.S. Senator, Pennsylvania
