Hola .. :)

I've got the power set at 7 .. seems like it delivers a pretty good hit, to me anyway, at that setting .. I suppose the popping / crackling noise is normal ..

The readout comes on whenever I take a hit and then stays on for a few seconds.. I guess that's normal, too ..

The power setting automatically locks unless you press the up / down button .. ??

I never lock mine. I would think press both up and down at the same time and hold a few secs. Yup, crackles are normal. How's taste?

For the time being, I have 8mg plain nic in it at about a 70PG / 30 VG mix .. tastes about the same as a fresh EVOD ..

The piece feels fairly substantial in my hand .. it's going to take a little bit to get used to .. heavier .. I think I may nose around for a drip tip that's a bit more traditional, and maybe a bit longer .. the stock tip seems short to me .. I like that puff count on the readout ..

I'm used to carrying my Spinners / EVOD in my shirt pocket, so that's going to be an adjustment ..

The Black Solo with the Black zlide is one bad mother (Shut your mouth) looking set up .. ..

No, the Solo doesn't automatically lock. As Fran said, hold both the up and down buttons for a couple of seconds to lock or unlock.

I use a case like this on my belt (shop around, a local feed store often has them for about $5)

Nite Ize Wide Load Clip Case Cargo Holster-CCCXL-01-R3 - The Home Depot

I tuck the flap in, and it works pretty well for all my box mods. (Well, Picos do sorta get lost in it ;) )

I use my Spinners at around 3.5 volts .. I'm rotating the Solo and the Spinner to compare .. gettin' a bit of a head rush .. I need a beer .. :p
A Spinner is way outclassed by a solo.

When I did tech support for a bank many years ago, a person called and said they were having a problem with a file (remember Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets?). I asked him to send me a copy of the file -he sent me a photocopy of the floppy disk!!!!!

We are set for the storm. If we loose power we have a generator that will run the whole house except for the air conditioner. Our plan is to (some day... seems to keep getting put off) buy a window shaker so at least the master bedroom will be air conditioned in the case of an outage. We are also inland closer to the west coast, so "smaller" east coast storms aren't as threatening as ones that come up through the gulf. No matter, still need to be aware and prepare!

The power company is going through the neighborhood marking trees within 10 ft of power lines to be whacked away. We have some beautiful big live oaks in front they were going to take out, but we got to know the surveyor and the crew chief. The crew chief agreed the back side of the trees is strong enough they will take off front branches and leave the trees. They haven't started whacking yet, so we shall see. They are shade for my 15 yr old azaleas out there so to loose them completely would be a tragedy! The only positive from this is perhaps we won't be so subjected to power outages than we would have been. And they are supposed to give us 3 jasmine bushes/trees to plant where we want as replacements :).

@Uncle Willie , I said the Solo is larger and heavier than you are used to with a Spinner and an Evod, but you will get used to it. It's a great setup you have there! Enjoy!!

Good morning. Gonna be another hot one, but the sun is shining and the sky is blue. Not too bad.

Yup, this Solo / Zlide does deliver .. I dropped the voltage to 6 .. does that mean I'm a wimp .. ??

Nah, whatever setting that works best for you is the right one. No right or wrong here. Isn't that what we've always told the newbies?

Nope, not at all. Just means your finding what you like.

And you'll also find (although at this time you don't have any comparison "empirical" data) that it will run longer before needed to be recharged. :)

Our plan is to (some day... seems to keep getting put off) buy a window shaker so at least the master bedroom will be air conditioned in the case of an outage.

We have the roll around type, with a flexible exhaust hose. Don't need to hoist them onto the window sill, and can roll them into out-of-the way storage when not needed. Might want to look into those instead?

    Morin' Misfits . . .

So far this morning I'm still here. . . :img:

AND - It's Hot & Humid outside (well that man is in Tampa today so that might explain it too). . . Isaias is still blowing by our East coast and on it's way North . . . They say it is going to be between a Topical Storm Watch to Warning for the Fort lauderdale/Broward County into Palm Beach county area sometime starting at 4PM - 8PM . . . So it seems it is going to be sporadic topical winds and heavy rain passing through all evening/night right now - but doesn't mean it won't change . . . Just Sayin' . . .
