Good morning Fran and Anise. Boy, I could take this weather all year long. How lucky are we at 57 going up to 79 with sun and clear skies. No rain for us for awhile which means Mike spends his day pulling his oscillating waterer around the yard all day. We had the yard treated and overseeded and now it has to be watered. Despite all his work over the years only to be left with dirt and weeds he finally broke down and is having a professional try to fix it. So, actually we could use some rain, but I'm going to enjoy this weather while we can.

Gotta go to the crackpractor this morning and then I'm getting my hairs cut. Then I'll be cooking down all the tomatoes I picked yesterday.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

I hadn't put up hummer feeders since moving here and have never seen any until yesterday. We have a fake plant on the porch that looks real. I saw a hummer trying so hard to get nectar from that plant. I will put up feeders next year for sure. Wish I hadn't given them all away when I moved.

    Morning, all. We have RAIN!

Maybe a strong enough front to also cross the mountains and give some help to the eastern WA fires, and definitely reduces the risk this side.

I'm probably showing my age, but I'm from the use it til you can't fix it anymore generation. Just feels wrong somehow to have to trash an expensive piece of electronics, but that's the way of things these days.

    Hola .. :)

I believe that as 'things' progressed and were then touted as being 'better', the progression simply introduced added layers of complexity, thus making it so there were more areas prone to break down ..

I had a washer and dryer that went on for 20+ years with no issues .. then, when I finally had to replace, new units had more features, a different drum in the washer, a more complex control panel, etc .. yet, I don't think it washed the clothes any better than the old did .. but, they sure cost more ..

Now, WiFi enabled appliances, refrigerators with a monitor built in that can keep track of your food and allow you to watch the news while in the kitchen .. probably more tech than there was in the first Space Shuttle .. and, that's just one example ..

Surely you understand buying the tried and true. A random bunch of odd pv’s doesn’t cut it.I would highly recommend getting at least one more solo with two being better along with several boxes of coils.

Well, Frannie, that's why I asked the Brain Trust .. :)

At last count, I have about 90 boxes of 5 coils each .. at 450 coils and what appears to be at least 30-60 days of usage each, that's what .. ?? 37 years worth at one per month .. ??

Now, I know I don't top Mike's pallet load, but still ..

Another Solo or two and a couple back-up tanks and you should be in good shape.

Well, if it can be fixed, they can't sell you another one...

    Not to mention planned obsolescence.

    Good afternoon!

We've been enjoying some pretty nice weather here.......cool mornings and evenings and high low 80s during the day with breezes.

Plenty of rain, but that's a good thing.

The kids came over and I do believe our eldest is almost as tall as the man......he's 5'8". She is definitely taller than I and I have to rest my head on her shoulder for a hug......now, that's bittersweet.:|

Bowling has started up with a decreased league, but hey, we're there. We take our masks off on the approach then slide them back on........
Been preoccupied lately with our cousin Richard who underwent surgery yesterday for the C word.......so far it looks like it has all been removed, so we felt a ton of relief when we were told he came out of the procedure AOK.....included him on one of our prayer wheels and that always helps. :nun:

FYI: Personally - I don't think it will help much given the current tenor of discussion . . . However - You never know, unless you try . . . So - For those who might wish join-in there is a simple letter champian via text that will send a "letter" for you asking the Senate/ your representative in the Senate to wait until after the election to appoint/confirm any justice nominated by either political party to fill the seat in the USA Supreme Court left by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recent death . . . All you need to do is . . . Text RBG to 50408 . . . And just follow the instructions. . . EASY PEASY . . . :D

Crap, it just dawned on me .. for several years, I've worn an old Hazmat suit and respirator when giving out candy to the kids on Halloween night .. Bingo, this year not only is it a fashion statement, but it's a Political statement as well .. 2 birds, 1 stone ..

Good morning all. It's overcast and pleasantly cool. The darn raccoon was at our squirrel-proof bird feeder again last night. I can tell it's not a squirrel because it left evidence - several long gray hairs stuck to the rod.

Yes! They keep adding bells and whistles and we don't even use most of them! I like simple and wish I could just buy what I needed. And I gotta wonder about the new energy efficient machines. I was shocked to find out our new dishwasher took 2 hours 23 minutes to clean a load of dishes. The washer and dryer also take a longer than my old ones did.

I agree with Fran. A backup Solo or 2 and a couple tanks should have you covered for a good long time. It's rare, but I have dropped my PV and had the tank smash.

Absolutely .. my newer washer does not even have what I would call an 'agitator' like my old one did .. that's probably why it takes longer ..

New dishwasher last year, does take longer too, but, on the plus side, it's practically silent .. was weird when I first installed it
