I need your advice. I have a fairly heavy box (books) to mail and the cardboard box is pretty sturdy and we taped it up very well. My question is would you trust the USPS or the UPS more to deliver it undamaged?
I say UPS. I've had very bad luck with USPS lately. Good luck whichever you choose.

While both are questionable when it comes to heavier boxes being delivered undamaged . . . You should also checkout cost . . . I know USPS offers a lower rate for books under 5 lbs -"Media Mail" . . . Otherwise, UPS/FedX might be better. . . To find out without having to go to each place - Weigh the box and take measurements - go to websites and there you can get estimates . . . You can also arrange for them to come pick up the box too (may or may not be a small fee) . . . Hope that information is helpful . . . :)

Good morning to all of you, not good one for me though. Last night my little Ali fell into the pool and drowned before I could get him out. He can't swim due to having a broken front leg when he was a baby. It never healed right and became deformed.

Darn, Rose, that hurts...

UPS might be cheaper, books' weights add up pretty quick. As Uncle, who beat me to the enter key said :)

Hola .. :)

Generally, USPS Media Mail is going to be substantially cheaper than anything else .. carriers charge these days based not only on weight, but size .. FEDEX, by far, is the best at treating a package better .. USPS and UPS are a crapshoot any way you slice it .. and, good luck if you ever have a damage claim ..

When I ship a guitar, or a body, or a neck, it's just got to the point where it's got to be packed like Ft Knox, and even at that, who knows if ..... handles it somewhere along the line ..

Good Morning, All.
Oh, @rosesense, so sorry for the loss of your fur-baby. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
On the subject of books, I would also recommend to weigh and measure the box and then check online sources as @Uncle mentioned.
I overslept this morning. I'm supposed to be going to the farm but slept through my phone alarm. I texted Steven and we'll see how we feel when the caffeine and pills kick in. The caffeine sure does taste good, too. At least the Jeep is loaded with the exception of the rifles and extra water. While waking up I have my phone and tablet on chargers to top them off.
I hope everyone has a good day.

I feel so bad, I should have had him on a leash.

My deepest sympathies go out to you:wub:

I will only mention that if you say UPS as a word, it comes out as "Oops!"

Just an FYI .. took a browse thru HULU last night .. it had been a while since I'd looked at the streamers offerings ..

Hit on 'Mrs. America' .. this female centric TV drama surrounding the ratification of the ERA would generally not be my cup of tea, however, due to an outstanding script, ties to my local area and a wonderful cast, I got sucked in ..

So, if you HULU, two thumbs up from me on this one ..

No matter who you ship anything with, never, ever, under any circumstances, note 'Fragile, Handle with Care' on the box .. this seems to encourage ..... into abusing your package ..

Oh Rose, I am so sorry for your tragedy. They (dogs/pets) become such a part of our lives and entrenched in our hearts, the loss is so painful. I send healing light to your heart. Godspeed Ali.

So good to know you are feeling better!

Our first week back at a dog show. People were hungry! New puppies need new leads and collars. All sorts of stuff. We had a great show! Happy dance!
. You sound so happy and with good reason. Glad your show was a success.

Yup, who could forget that smile ??
