Only con I see, is that it's an internal battery mod. If the dooming/deeming and mail ban weren't here I might consider a disposable/internal batt mod, then replace it when the batt dies. But it doesn't look like we'll be able to easily replace anything in the coming months.

It's funny you just posted this since I was going to ask ::

Since these Zbiip's have a built in battery, what's the storage protocol .. ?? Also, I've replaced cordless tool batteries quite a few times in the past, and I don't see why with a little surgery, the batteries in these things could not be replaced if needed .. unless it is somehow a proprietary battery .. ??

hmm ... wonder why they call it a Pod Mod. I thought Pods were disposable not having drop in coils, etc. This seems more like a mod with a tank integrated into it's design. Also has an adapter to use any tank with it.

Mike you are way behind the times here. There are several pod devices that take coils.

I actually like my internal battery mods.

We've got a few. There's nothing wrong with them. It's just that if/when the battery fails in the future you can't go out and get a replacement because of all the 'nutz' things going on in the vape world. That's the only reason I'm currently staying away from them.

Other than taking it apart and getting it back together again ... I'd say the problem is sourcing the right size battery, not just it's mAh rating but it's dimensions too.

Well I guess you're going to have to 'learn' this old dog some new tricks.

I didn't follow the pod mod end of vaping because in their early days they didn't interest me at all. The Kroma does look nice at a reasonable price point. After you mentioned it I duck-ducked it and had a look see what it was all about.

I'm confident I can take one apart and put it back together .. anything that was assembled can be dis-assembled .. I'd also tend to think that it's not a proprietary battery ..

At any rate, at 6 clams a pop, not a big deal ..

Anyone's thoughts on storage of these internal battery units .. ??

So no need to use / drain battery / recharge periodically .. ?? Just stow it and break it out when you may need it .. ??

Just trying to do some future planning .. :)

Tell me about it! I've had two high end (read expensive) mods die. I had to send them back to Germany to get them repaired under warranty. The return postage could have bought a couple-few Kroma's.

"They" say storing batteries should be done at about 3.7 volts. I don't have a way to charge batts to a 'given' level and I'm not about to keep checking them and then take them off the charger. So I store mine fully charged. I just recently read storing them at full charge diminishes only slightly the lifetime of the battery. I can live with that.

But do make sure you turn the mod 'off'. A lot of mods have a small drain on the batt at all times and after storing for anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple-few months the battery will drain below acceptable levels. It probably wouldn't hurt to check the batt level every 3 months of so, to make sure it's not draining even if turned off.

I actually had a batt vent in a stored Provari. I forgot to take it out or turn off the mod.I put it on the shelf for months. And, Provari's are one of the worst for draining a batt when just sitting around unused and not turned off.

The top batt is the one that vented. The entire inside of the mod was covered in a grey film.

But, I filled the Provari tube with alcohol, swished it around, dumped it out and let it dry and changed the spring in the end cap. Put a good battery into it, and it worked! Provari Strong! :thumb:

Do you remember way back when I bought my purple Provari mini? I really did try to like it but Provaris are not for me. I didn’t lose any money on it at least.

Good morning. It's a sunny 25 here this morning, but will be going up to 57. Woohoo!

Nah! I've bought 217 boxes (1,085 coils). Don't know how many are left because Janet has been using them exclusively for the last few months. Time for another purchase though before the USPS/Fedex/UPS ban shuts down mail order.

At this rate we'll have to live to 117 to use them up.

Yes, and there was something else you bought that didn't meet your fancy. I don't remember what it was but do recall you threatening to take a hammer to it though.

Thanks for the reminder but I forgot what it was. Maybe the dang tank.
