Wow. Down here, it's just been getting slightly cooler each day. Gives you a chance to get used to it. I do remember it stayed mild right up to Christmas Eve - at which point the temperature dropped and the streets became almost impassible with snow in just two hours.

I fear my laptop I have had for over 7 years is dieing. Crap, guess I will have to deal with Windows 10. So used to 7 it's going to be a challenge. DH has a new laptop with Win 10 and he hates it. He turns things off but next auto update it's back to standard Win 10. Oh well... :grr: :(:-x

The main thing to keep in mind, as with all Windows versions .. Microsoft will end updates and support, I believe in a couple years for WIN7 .. so, any way you slice it, WIN10 is in most folks future, whether they like it or not .. :)

I was an early adopter of the WIN10 free upgrade on more than one machine, and for me, it's been great .. 10 runs smoother, it runs my old software going back to XP very well, I have had no security issues, it can be tweaked in so many different ways .. my history with a PC goes back to MSDOS, and then to Windows 1.0 .. :)

Rain this morning .... what a perfect excuse not to do some outside yard work.

Yesterday, I went ahead and hit the yard .. the rains we've had has caused a grass growth spurt here near the end of the season .. all was going well until the wheel power lever stopped engaging and started making a squealing noise .. so, 3/4th of the yard I ended up manually push mowing .. at the end of that, I decided I had performed my own DIY cardiac stress test and passed .. ;)

Drained the gas, and tipped the unit up, supported by a Milk Crate and sliding my head under it .. decided I would postpone taking the belt cover off until some undetermined time in the Future .. ;)

I wish I would have a day of real rain here... Yesterday produced a short early morning drizzle that was just enough to wet the street and parking lot. Gray, gloomy skies with no rain are depressing... It's s odd that this location can have 2 feet of snow dumped overnight, yet never has any real rainfall. My umbrella has hung by the door since I moved here.....and never once had a need to be used.

I don't know how others fared, however, I got a message this AM from a friend in Rhode Island that said they had had 90 MPH winds and that power was out for around 100K people .. ??

Sounds good! We get these little showers thad barely moisten the ground, but leave the cars and windshields covered with little drops of mud. So much for the myth of clean air in the great Southwest.

Well one thing about it if you get a laptop that is built with Win 10 in it they work very well. Much better then the upgrade. Mine never gets warm and works flawlessly the upgrade made my other laptop loose it's cool all together.

We have at least a half dozen umbrellas scattered around. Mostly dusty, as wide brim hats are more convenient, leaves the hands free :)

Ah, but it's clean mud!

I feel safe in saying that all the Young Ladies here will be handing out treats tonight and be dressed appropriately .. ;)

Sadly, no... My daughter's entire neighborhood decorates extensively for Halloween, even the adults dress in costumes, and people drive there in cars to drop their children off to 'Trick or Treat'. The first 2 years here, I bought all the needed treats and had not a single knock on the door....:( Perhaps if I decorated for the day it would make a difference, but I just can't do it.
