Sadly, no... My daughter's entire neighborhood decorates extensively for Halloween, even the adults dress in costumes, and people drive there in cars to drop their children off to 'Trick or Treat'. The first 2 years here, I bought all the needed treats and had not a single knock on the door.... Perhaps if I decorated for the day it would make a difference, but I just can't do it.

Yes, well .. I won't ask that you become Elvira and post a pic here for our gratification ..

I keep it simple .. my street gets the same "Kid Load Drop Off", although it has lessened over the years .. I buy a couple bags of candy I like :: Reece's Cups and Mounds, generally .. I wear a Hazmat Suit and Gas Mask, which generally scares the snot out of even the adults .. I give it out till it's gone, sneaking a few for myself .. at that point, I turn off the lights and head to the Man Cave .. during which, tonight, I will be viewing "The Dark Tower" Blu Ray ..

It's an easy costume, taking a minute to put on and take off ..

Easy Peesy, Lemon Squeezy ..

PS :: Having a Hazmat Suit and Gas Mask does help provide double duty in the event of, er, an Event ..

Well...the sun is shining for a change and I've been trying to talk my lazy self into walking to the community mailboxes to get my mail...it seems like a long way ( tho it may be only a half a block..) and I've been very lazy since the hip surgery, but I think I'll have to use my walker/with seat...and take a few breaks I rode my tricycle once long ago and thought I wouldn't make it.
I, of course, will be carrying my coffee and my vapes...

Just slip on your Hazmat Suit and Gas Mask, go sit outside for a little while, and come in when you get bored or run out of candy. And, it's neon yellow, so everyone can easily see that you're there and ready to hand out candy.
