Guess everyone is out having a 0003.gif! I'm getting ready to mow the yard after my coffee does its magic.

Dad slept well last night and I did 3 loads of laundry. Checked on him 3 times during the night. A little more thorough the 3rd time when I noticed he had not moved a centimeter. unnamed.gif

I can't wait for the marked down Easter candy.

Happy Easter, All. I hope the day improves. I got zero sleep last night. I even sat in my recliner to read, and it didn't help me at all. I think I will go out and mow down the weeds. That is if I can get the mower to start. I hope everyone has a good Sunday with their families and loved ones.

There is nothing more aggravatin. I hope you sleep better tonight. I did all the trim work, edged the driveway and walkways and then blew out the gutters because they were full of that pollen stuff. I am hoping I worked hard enough to sleep better myself. Maybe it will work for you too. smileys-praying-820668.gif

Dad felt like mowing so I helped him get on the mower. He loves mowing and his lines were straight as could be. That's pretty good moving at 13 mph.

I needed a key out of his pocket and he stopped. I was digging for the key and he took off. It would have been okay if my toe had not been in his way. Yes, he ran over it. He made a circle and ran over the same toe for the second time. I yelled at him that he ran over my toe twice and he yelled back at me to go to the other side of the yard and pick up a limb he did not want to mow over. Yeah, he's back to normal. I did not find the humor in it until much later.

Hola .. :)

Jury Duty concluded .. it went quicker than I thought ..

Installing a new garbage disposer today .. mine's about 12 years old and it has to go .. the good news is, these In-Sink-Erators use a standard sink mount that they've used for many years, so it should be a generally easy swap .. of course, just when I think that, some glitch will occur, which is generally the way my luck goes lately .. o_O

I will note that I have always been a big proponent of 'nip it in the bud before it can create a bigger problem' .. an example of which is my hot water heater .. which I'm seriously considering replacing since it's about 12 years old .. still works perfectly, looks fine cosmetically, yet it's probably time for a new one ..

Glad your jury duty went quick. i always wanted to serve on a jury (as long as it wasn't a death penalty case) but I never got chosen, but they sure called me up often enough.

Our IN-Sink-Erator worked fine for 20 years, but when we had our kitchen re-done we replaced it just because. Mike wanted to wait until our water heater broke before replacing it, but when I told him ours was 23 years old and if it broke and flooded the basement he was on his own to clean it up. We got a new one the next week and believe we avoided a big mess. They don't usually give any warning before they break. The nice thing is the newer one is bigger and was on a great sale so it was well worth it.

I made a goal to sew my daughter's 1-year-old birthday outfit. Tiny white polka dots on a pink dress with a white pinafore with lace trim. I was so proud of that outfit. After that, I made several little summer bubble outfits for her but it just was not my thing. Dad has an old singer machine but he said the last time he tried to sew some pants that it did not work. Not sure if it is worth fixing or not. I doubt I will ever use it. I have a little tabletop portable that I very rarely use.

Maybe your Singer just needs a tune-up. Probably needs a good oiling after all this time. Or there could just be some threads tangled up inside. Do you know anyone who sews near you who could look at it?

I used to sew our kids clothes years ago, but these days it's just used to hem things. I gotta say that the old Ulna has held up quite well in the 45 years I've had it.

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. We had the family here for an egg hunt and dinner. What chaos!! It was fun though because everyone pitched in and he kids had a blast. It's definitely easier now that they're a bit older. It was only 50 degrees so a bit chilly outside, but the kids didn't mind and the rain held off. We're pretty well cleaned up so I'm taking the day off. Not even cooking except to nuke some leftovers.

Oh no, hope this little guy flys away. Janet saw him crash into the slider doors on the porch and fall to the deck. She held him for awhile then put him down in the sun. Hoping when I go back to look the little guy has recovered enough from the crash to have flown away.

It's a Chipping sparrow. Cute little guys. You should have a group of them by now. They spend the winter at my feeders and go up north in the summer.

Hola .. :)

Nothing much to report .. changed the water filters in the under-sink unit yesterday, it's getting tough to bend down in there these days .. bought a new garbage disposal but have not installed it yet .. mowed and got some outdoor planters ready since I'm hoping tonight will be the last frost of the season .. hit Cracker Barrel for dinner ..

Settled in to give 'Bosch' a try on Amazon Prime .. I'd had it in my list for some time, but I generally don't get into Police type shows .. but, it had good reviews so I gave it a spin .. took in four episodes and it seems pretty good .. the lead guy reminds me of Joe Friday, if anyone remembers that character ..

Dogwoods a poppin' .. :)

I love dogwoods. That's a great picture. While I was mowing yesterday, I had to stop and take a picture of our Azaleas. They are gorgeous this year (and happen to be my favorite color)

I imagine you are right. It has been sitting for so long it could just need some oil. It is really old but is in excellent condition. I wish I did know someone that knew a little bit about them. Sewing is not my "thang" so I will find a good home for it one day. Back in the day, I am sure it was top of the line and would make someone happy.

I wonder if the neighbors ever watch me while I am out mowing. I stop and take pictures, take a toot or two, and yesterday, I had to stop and rehook my bra. It was not even a front enclosure bra. I have no idea what happened. I just knew it was not worth walking up to the house to get myself together. I honestly don't think the neighbors would be shocked at anything I do. Dad is not using the walker any longer. I know that because when he went to bed he left it in the path where I walk without turning a light on to go to the restroom. I tripped and came close to falling with a full bladder no less. Do you know how perturbed I would have been if I had to use a walker because I tripped over a walker?

Just another day. . . unnamed.gif

I love dogwoods. That's a great picture.

Heading down south to the land of the pines
I'm thumbing my way into North Caroline
Staring up the road and pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Picking me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
