You also have to take into account that the majority of student loans are young people who want to have a career with a high paying job, so don't they have enough time to repay? Just saying.
What I consider is that if they are smart enough to get into college, they are smart enough to read a loan agreement.

Morning, misfits.

More rain here, more snow higher up. Yeah, we'll take it. :)

Dad called me by mistake this morning which is alright but I was sleeping so good and I can never go back to sleep. Oh well, the coffee is pretty darn good this morning. Vala_10.gif

He has a dental cleaning today. He never has any problems but his dentist told him he needs his teeth cleaned 4 times a year instead of two. Maybe that is why he still has his own teeth. I really don't know why.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Is it the deep cleaning, 4 times per year? Money making for dental offices. I get so mad I could scream about that stuff. I refuse to have the deep cleaning (painful) just so they can make more money.

I am not sure because I enjoy sitting out in the car alone for a change. I think it is just regular cleanings. His insurance pays for two a year but he has to pay for the other two out of pocket. I honestly think his dentist is taking advantage of him but it gets him out of the house and he does not seem to mind. If it was me? It would NOT be happening. no.gif

    Hola .. :)

This is precisely why I decided to go with a denture a while back .. I got sick and tired of being fleeced in the name of 'Save The Real Teeth at All Costs' .. real teeth are over-rated .. o_O ..

Of course, I suppose if I could get a 'Dental Loan' that would be subsequently forgiven by Uncle Sam, I would have just gotten them all capped or implants since they would have been free ..

Personally, I think you're giving way too much credit to todays High School Graduate ..

From my understanding, which, in many cases, is old men talking smack, a good portion of college students demand that they follow their 'Dream' .. which means majors in the Arts and other type, similar, studies .. so, by the time they graduate with a degree, that paper means essentially nothing, since there is an overabundance of applicants vs jobs as it relates to things related to 'The Arts' .. so, they end up working at a Starbucks ..

Thusly, it's no wonder that they can't pay back the loans .. unless, of course, Mommy and Daddy step up ..

'Hey, youngster, consider becoming a mechanic / plumber / electrician .. keep your nose clean and you'll always have a great paying job .. ' and maybe, just maybe, you won't be saddled with a mountain of Student Debt that allowed you to party like a Rock Star for four or more years ..

As an addendum, my 'Dream' was to become a photo-journalist .. I did not rack up any debt, since I went to college under the GI Bill back then ..

Unfortunately, National Geographic was not hiring, there were many, many with better skills than mine and, yeah, I could have gone to work at a newspaper, but it paid dirt ..

Life takes turns, you have to adapt or die .. that's just the way it is ..

What a beautiful day here. I did not want my walk to end. It is 63 but is supposed to get up to 70. Just gorgeous.

Remember when dad hurt his ear on April 4th and had to have 16 dissolvable stitches? I just cut out 5 of them. There are still two left but dad was getting aggravated. They look good and are completely healed or I would have never removed them. (I watch all the medical shows so I am a professional, heehee) The doctor said they dissolve in 5-7 days. Maybe he meant rot in a couple of weeks. unnamed.gif I will recheck in another week. Am I full-service or what?

Good morning, all. I guess it is considered morning. I went out and bought a new toy.

    Bulldog.jpg

It is a Bulldog by American Tactical and is referred to as a bullpup design. The barrel is 18.5 inches, chambered for 3" 12 ga shells. It also is a magazine-fed semi-automatic shotgun. I was fortunate and found plenty of shells at Academy Sports. I have already talked to Steven, and we're going to the farm and breaking it in on Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting. I feel like a kid at Christmas. LOL
I hope everyone has a good day. I have some cleaning and oiling to take care of.

Good morning It's a beautiful sunny morning, but a little chilly at 52.

Looks like Im going to buy some paint today. Mike decided to patch some nail pops and dings in the dining room and now the whole room needs painting. Oh well, it'll look nice when it's finished.

As a kid we only went to the dentist if there was a problem. I ALWAYS had 11 cavities. That dentist told our neighbor he had 20+ cavities so he left, went to another dentist who told him he had 6 cavities. My MIL also had similar problems with the same dentist. Might be worth it to get a 2nd opinion.

I was told once that I needed the deep cleaning and I declined the treatment. Went home and flossed and rinsed with mouthwash religiously. 6 months later the dentist was amazed at the improvement. A big help was using the Braun electric toothbrush. It's the one with the round head. I'm lazy and don't floss much anymore so I think the toothbrush has worked wonders. YMMV

Always is the dental clinics that are like franchises. They are the ones who will accept insurance like Humana cause they know they will 'talk' people into more expensive treatments.

I have used different ones and this is always the case with the clinics. I can't just get a one man shop kind of dentist because they aren't signed up with Humana. I use waterpik, Diamond sonic care toothbrush, special mouthwash, my own dental scaling tools and special toothpaste. No matter how good I clean them, they will say I need the deep cleaning cause they want to make 140.00 times 4 instead of 100 times 2.

A neighbor recommended our dentist and I'm so glad she did. I already told him if we ever moved he was going to have to come with us. We are so lucky to have found him. He's fast, has never hurt me and doesn't do more than he has to. Amazing. He did take me when I had Humana and still does now that I have Medicare Personal Choice. It's true that insurance can be a big problem. I left 2 previous dentists because they dropped my Delta insurance.

    Hola .. :)

The other night, I watched 'Kalashnikov' on IMDB .. it was the story of Mikhail Kalashnikov and his automatic rifle invention .. although in these days of Ukraine, it may seem somewhat politically incorrect, it was still a fascinating story and quite well done .. it's an actual movie / docudrama ..

IMDB streaming is free .. I use a ROKU, however, I'm sure it's available for other platforms ..

Another film they have that I highly recommend is 'Fury' with Brad Pitt ..

IMDb TV | Always Entertaining. Always Free. (amazon.com)
