Morning, mixers.

Another summer day here in the PNW. But, uh, it's supposed to be fall... Overnight down to 48, heading for 80. Heck, even one of the weather guessers laughed when he predicted "scattered showers that won't reach the ground." Yeah, why bother with that guess!

Thank you to all for the 2nd warm welcome back.

It is going to seem weird not having "dad posts". Not sure what I am going to write about. You may or may not want to know what this o'l girl is going to be doing. I have always said that I was a late bloomer and right now, my garden looks pretty colorful.

I have so much happening right now and so much that I have to do. Some will be inconvenient but most will be an adventure.

I am going to try to get on here more often now that I actually have a free minute or two. But if by chance you don't hear from me just know that I am somewhere having FUN! ;)

Enjoy the day. Hugs to all.

Morning, all.

Yep, weather still on repeat, still about 10 over average, and no rain. But still not getting real hot, and humidity is up a tad.

I have always said that I was a late bloomer and right now, my garden looks pretty colorful.

Oh, Torey, I'm sorry about your dad's passing. Take the time for your personal grief, we will be here when you need/want us.

Happy Sunday! I've been spending money again. I splurged on myself and I'm waiting on the Amazon driver to get here with my Kindle Paperwhite! I've been thinking about it for quite a while. It will be nice reading outside and not taking my tablet all the time.

Nothing else is happening here in the metro. Take care.

I know you will enjoy the Paperwhite. I used mine for years and then for some reason just started using my phone. I need to get back to reading. It has always been so relaxing for me. Enjoy.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

Irene and Billy Bob / The Pair of Hummingbirds that have visited me this Season ::

Over the years, I've only put out two feeders and, I generally get 2 hummingbirds that are clearly a pair .. one feeder is under the eave next to the large living room window and easily visible from my recliner .. in the morning, when things are silent, no TV, no noise, I would drink my coffee and watch them come and go .. they would rotate from the front to the backyard, where the other feeder is by the deck ..

I grow very attached to these two birds .. they are like two old friends that come and visit when it's warm and then, make their exit when it's time to leave .. I never really attempted to attract a flock, the way some seem to do with multiple feeders .. just the two are fine with me ..

When the sun hits those feathers just right, it's a glorious display of nature .. and, I could swear at times, they have their own personalities ..

It's funny how two very small creatures can enter your heart .. they don't know you, they just know there is something they can fuel up with hanging in that feeder ..

As you age, the small things seem to provide comfort in a turbulent World ..

    Morning, misfits.

Nothing big happening here, nice ;)

Still dry, still gathering the latest cuttings, burn mountain continues to gain height... some day the rains will come and I'll be able to get rid of that, but the way it's going, maybe not until next month :(

I thought of Willie as I drove to work, I was in a philosophical mood. I knew work would be miserable today (and I was right LOL). That said, I was looking at the play of the shafts of sunlight on the road and trees, enjoying that I was on a curvy road with little traffic while listening to some good tunes. I appreciated the sunny moments, while recognizing the passage of time as the leaves are turning to autumn colors and falling in the breeze - big oak leaf seemed to dance joyfully across the road. 12 hours later, the feelings/thoughts of the drive are still with me. It might become my mantra, 'be a happy oak leaf'.

I could not agree anymore. For the first time in my life, I have no one to take care of but myself, and I can assure you that this o'l girl has already started being pampered! heehee

    Happy Wednesday y'all.

Good morning. It's a chilly 46 here this morning, going up to 70. We've had a couple gorgeous days here, but the rains are coming tomorrow.

I'll be here at our daughter's house helping out until Thurs. afternoon, Mike came yesterday afternoon with a car full of stuff to store in the basement.

Yesterday Brody wanted a PB&J for lunch, the same lunch I made him the day before except this time he said I made it too big, After several questions about what he meant I finally figured out I put too much peanut butter on the sandwich. It's like learning a new language with these little people.

    Hola .. :)

Well, there is a certain ratio that must be adhered to .. ;) .. personally, I go a bit heavy on the PB .. and, I use jam, not jelly .. preferably on very fresh Wonder Bread ..

    This is the Way ..

Pods. Nope. Even the one I won here doesn't get used much. Haven't even sourced any replacement pods for it.

I prefer to be "self-sufficient", especially with the war on vaping. And so many pods flooding the market, who knows which one will survive over time?

Nah, I'll build and mix. :)
