Pods? Nope. Still using my original Aspire nautilus tanks. I replace parts from time to time, but like my grandfdather's axe (handle replaced three times; head replaced twice) they are still my original Nautili. I've switched from the BVC (Bottom Vertical Coil - plain Kanthal) to the same design but with nickel coils for the benefits of TC.

Got 3 boosters today and wowzers, my arms are a bit sore.
Wowzers- you are a glutton for punishment! Shingles in one arm & Covid Booster in the other was enough for me. I kept waking up during the night if I turned on a side, ouch. Now I feel like a wimp! LOL. Hopefully, the pain eases up soon for you.

I figured the arms are going to be sore anyway so might as well get them and be done with it.

    Hola .. :)

Well, there is a certain ratio that must be adhered to .. ;) .. personally, I go a bit heavy on the PB .. and, I use jam, not jelly .. preferably on very fresh Wonder Bread ..

    This is the Way ..
Yep, me too. The jelly was actually low sugar strawberry preserves. Pretty good actually. There is a procedure to follow though. The "skin" (crust) of the bread must be removed and then the sandwich has to be cut into shapes.

Busy day here, nice that it wasn't raining. Had a doc check-up, then came home and continued cleaning out stuff and doing laundry.

We're gathering stuff for the Vietnam Vets to pick up on Monday. It seems the more we clean out the easier it's getting to get rid of stuff. Of course the "thing" is still useful, but do we really want to pay somebody to move it? Ugh! I'm glad we're doing this because I'd hate for the kids to have to do it if something happened to us. Wouldn't wish it on anybody. Of course, they could just call in an auctioneer and get rid of it all in a day...or 2 or 3...

Hi all, I went to lunch today and stopped at WinCo for some necessities. Their bagels are the best and my favorite is the Jalapeno Cheddar. Anyway, I got home at about 2:00 and decided on a nap. I woke up at 10:15. I guess I needed a little bit of sleep. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

I think you are right. I have finally got the house clean and clutter-free enough to not be ashamed to have company. I love company! In the seven years I have lived here, dad would not allow me to have anyone over and he only had one retired policeman and his wife visit one time.

Anyone who comes over is not allowed to go into the living room and dining room. That is where I have been stacking all the stuff I want to get rid of. I am quickly running out of room. 20221015_074417.jpg

I still have 5 closets and all the drawers in the house to go through. I tried to get dad let me do this so I could clean, get rid of stuff and ask him questions about things but he said I could do it when he was gone. He did not care so I quit trying.

The sad part is I have not even started on the attic. My parents never threw away anything. There is stuff up there from my potty training chair to a broken Lazy Boy recliner. (don't ask me why dad took a broken chair up to the attic or how he even did it) I am thinking I will rent a dumpster and put it under the window to toss it all out. At least you can walk around up there and not have to crawl. 20221015_080348.jpg

Guess my posts are still going to include dad. heehee Old habits are pretty hard to break. Oh well, it just all seems overwhelming to me but I know I can only do so much in a day. I cannot throw anything out without looking inside it. My mother had a habit of hiding money in different places. In the 7 years I have found a little over $8,000. There could be more. I hope so. heehee Everytime I found an envelope with money in it, dad got so mad because she never told him about it. It was so funny.

My gosh, here I go with these long posts again. Sorry. Tomorrow I may have something more exciting to post about. I have a dinner date tonight with a real man. He is taking me to a dinner party at his friend's house. I am not sure what to expect because he said there could be live entertainment there. That just blows my mind. I love doing things for the first time. I am so excited. I just hope I don't embarrass either one of us. heehee We have been on enough dates for him to realize I have a unique way of expressing myself. That's putting it mildly. Watch out world. . . someone left the lock off my cage. bahahahahahaha

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!

    Morning, loungers.

Dry weather continues, and even the slugs gave up. Only good thing about it.

Just get 'em a set of these ;)

The neat thing about those is that you can make two different sandwiches and swap the centers for an in-sandwich surprise.

    @Janet H
how is the house hunting going?
Since I've not been around all week, I'll answer for Janet. Simply put ... "not well". It's been difficult to find a house in the area we prefer (a reasonably commute to each of of children's homes. We've found potential homes close to one and too far from the other and vice-versa. Or we find some that has potential but the place need at least $50K of modernization, or the kitchen is way too small, or it has an asbestos roof, or it's a 2 acre property (which we're definitely trying to get away from), etc. etc.

It's also doesn't help that we're trying to move into an area that's more expensive for housing then were we are living now. So that add's to the budget problem of what we can afford. That along with the general economic climate. The money we thought we could take from that and add to our net proceeds from the sale of our house has disappeared. If that hadn't happened there would be more opportunities open to us for buying the new house.

So, each day I wake up stressed, depressed, and overwhelmed. It's become my new normal. Likely why I haven't been around much lately.

I hear you. We were in exactly the same spot. A house almost identical to ours sold for 650k 6 months ago. We can't even get an offer for 500k. It was so that every house was under contract within 1 day and sold for over asking price, now they just sit with price reductions daily. It is depressing. Since we have already moved, we have to sell it soon even at a loss.

If I had known all this, I wouldn't have moved. I could have put 30k into fixing the issues with the old house and come out better.

I hope you have some good luck finding something soon. Can you buy the 2 acre property and sell off some land?

Good morning. Another day of sorting and packing ahead. We have a guy from a local moving company coming this morning to give us an estimate to move us and put our stuff in storage. Lots to learn so I'm looking forward to it.

So..... how did the evening go? Hope you had some fun!! I'd think just going out and not worrying about having to get home must have felt glorious.

Have you thought of having an auction? The auctioneer comes to your house and they can either auction it off right there, or haul away whatever you want to get rid of and take it to auction at their facility. Mike and I did that once. The auctioneer left a trailer here and we just kept filling it with stuff. Then he included our stuff along with other stuff and had a day long auction. We ended up making over $600 on stuff we would have been paying our trash company to haul away. Dumpsters are way expensive.

Yes! That's exactly what we've done unless I'm in a big rush and then it's just little triangles and maybe some free form shapes. Works great. I even have a Batman logo cookie cutter and one that's the shape of a childs hand. Our daughter has done some pretty creative things with food on their plates so it's inspired the kids to eat things they wouldn't ordinarily eat.
