Wow, yesterday was amazing. The sun was shining and it was warm enough that we really didn't need a jacket. I saw 2 people wearing shorts, not that surprising though since I did see a guy wearing shorts not that long ago and it was 32 degrees.
I've seen people here in NW New Mexico wearing shorts, too. While also wearing hoodies with the hood up. I guess it's a style thing.

@2nd grey and rainy day in a rows. Where's that beautiful sunny spring day we had a couple days back?
Same weather here, Mike. On our second rainy day also. Supposed to be morning rain tomorrow also. Friday we're supposed to see sun.

Well, sun here most of yesterday and said to be the same today. Showers due back tomorrow. And running about 10 below average on the temp.

Dang, heat wave! Only 32 last night ;) But, alas, they've decided to move the rain into the weekend, so another sunny day. The do claim the next round will deliver maybe a foot or more of snow, hope they got that right...

That's good news on the snow if they are right.

I was reading the original post by Uncle Willie.

I'd love to be able to just ramble for an hour and create a huge post but I'll just post the short version:

Worked for 4 companies in 94, building very very simple web pages while in college and one of them in the Iowa State Research Park had me sign a non compete. The co that had me sign a non compete had the research park give them all of my business plans and then did a denial of service attack on my businesses servers for months driving me out of business. Lost $70,000 and 12yr marriage.

Corp did not pay me $35,000+ in 02 for IT Support in Silicon Valley. I complained. FBI called me in, screamed and tossed me around for one hr and said I did not have a Bill of Rights. Lost $35,000 and new Bride to be.

I'm 63. My story is that we live in a kleptocracy. Thieves and crooks control everything. With no way to get ahead and having been ripped off so many times, when given the opportunity to bail, I did, and I retired at 57. Now I go out for walks, surf the Internet and vape all day! I'm taking care of me.

HEY EVERYONE. Sort of glad to be back home and definitely glad to get back on the laptop. I missed it after we left his daughters and I missed everyone here.

We got back this morning at 2 am. I have never been away from home for over one week. We were in TN 21 days. It went by so fast.

We were in Dad's 1998 Chev Silverado (it now has 52,000 miles on it) and for the first time in my life, we broke down. We were going down the highway just 100 miles from home and suddenly the truck turned off and lost power. Ken got to the side of the road and looked under the hood but did not see anything out of the ordinary. It cranked back up. We went to the nearest gas station and turned it off to google some stuff and then it would not start again. We walked next door to Denny's (there are a lot of people who eat in the middle of the night)

We were trying to figure out the best solution and when we got back to the truck, it started fine so Ken said we would go down the road and if it did it again, we would have to go to plan B.

The truck did fine but it has the check engine light on now. That is something I have never seen either. We are going to take it next week somewhere to see if they can check the codes and help diagnose.

I have been saying I should get AAA since dad passed and I started going places. Of course, I procrastinated but I am thinking after this trip, it would be a good idea to get it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. I'm glad to be back.

By-the-way, anybody heard anything about how Kay is doing?
I have been trying for a long time to get in touch with her. I finally contacted her granddaughter through FB and she says her grandmother is fine but I am concerned. I hope WildWoman is still fine. I'll let you know if I get in touch with her. I tried last week in TN and will try again. Gracie suggested I send a card to her and ask her to call. I know her neighbor brings her mail to her.
    you need this from temu:
I am still a big fan of Temu. I was in Temu withdrawal while I was out of town. My aunt was getting my mail in and my hand warmers came in. I can't wait to charge them up and see how they do.

Well, we might actually get some rain this time.
There was rain in TN and rain when I got home. My patience has run out and I need me some Spring.

I didn't really 'like' the bad news, but it is good to see you back.

    Morning, all.

No rain here yesterday, other than a couple brief squalls. Maybe more today, such is the guess...

We are going to take it next week somewhere to see if they can check the codes and help diagnose.

Most "big" auto stores will do that, free. Good luck!

Welcome to our little corner of ECF. Sheesh! Life certainly through you some screw balls, but sounds like at least your retirement is panning out fine.

Yuck! I thought I was going to make it through this winter without getting a cold/sick. Welp! Yesterday some 'bug' caught up with me and it's still with me this morning. Minor sore throat, sniffles and big time lack of energy. This too will pass, quickly I hope.

Looks like we're finally get some painting done here. Mike put some sparkle on dings in the walls going up the stairs so now it's polka dot walls. I've been telling people I'm starting a new trend. So, we have to get some paint today. Wish I had a better color sense for interior design. Hopefully they have a competent designer at the paint store to help me.

I'm removing and replacing my gutter guards .. hurting in places I did not know I had ..

The things I do in the name of frugality ..
Oh man. Please be careful on the ladder! I've known of several guys who've fallen and ended up with terrible medical problems including fatal ones!

I've seen people here in NW New Mexico wearing shorts, too. While also wearing hoodies with the hood up. I guess it's a style thing.
I've seen that too! I don't get it. If their arms get cold wouldn't it stand to reason their legs would get cold too? Hmmm, maybe they just want to show off their legs?

I have been trying for a long time to get in touch with her. I finally contacted her granddaughter through FB and she says her grandmother is fine but I am concerned. Thanks for the update.
