Morning, all.

No snow here (but a tad more up high!), but cool and wet. Until mid week, they claim.

No mowing or whacking yet, although both needed. Too soggy. Dandelions will be happy.

Thank goodness for Benadryl. I slept a little more last night and feel better this morning. Drinking the cup of coffee Ken fixes for me in the morning is also helping. It is a wonderful way to start the day.

Friday again and I have no plans other than mowing the yard for the 3rd time this season. I think I am going to have some help today so that is a plus. The bushes are completed. I would have liked to have made them a little smaller than I did but decided to let them fill in some and cut them smaller later on. At least they look a little smaller and definitely better. I swear, I am not sure where I am going to end up but I will not have a manicured lawn. That is for sure.

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

My dad hated dandelions and raged a war against them. He would spend hours cutting them out of the ground with a screwdriver. I laugh every time I see one. The bunnies love to eat them. I think it was Fran (I could be wrong) that said something about frying them. I had never heard of that and have not tried it yet. Guess I would if someone fixed them for me. I'll try anything once. Dandelions. Wine :)

And I have heard of using the "greens" in salad, but haven't gone there.
I was invited to have dinner, one time while visiting a Vietnamese friend. He was instructed by his sister to go outside and pick the greens. I followed...somewhat baffled, because they had no "garden" Mune said, let's go. I asked where? He replied, out back. So, off we went. He began picking weeds? Dandelions and their leaves were going into the basket, also young Morning Glory flowers, leaves and vines, and Butter Cup flowers and vines. I was thinking....those are WEEDS...You eat them? He answered, Yes, you will like. OK,. I'll eat anything once. And I did, the meal was fantastic.

In some sort of twist of fate, a Vietnamese guy that I was stationed with when I was in Vietnam, ended up in the STL area .. even more oddly, I did not know it until years later when we accidentally ran into each other at, of all places, Home Depot ..

I spent many a night at his and his families home, partaking in various culinary journeys and a slight bit of Hennessey here and there ..

Your post brought up a flood of memories ..

I really thought it was you. Sorry. I remember someone saying they fried them for their daughter. Don't know who. Another sign I'm turning into an o'l f a r t !

Now I have heard of that but never wanted to try it. I know where the little bunnies use the restroom.

I told y'all I was going to have help today with the yard. His shoulder was fine for the motorcycle this week but this morning he took some Ibuprophen and one of my muscle relaxers because he said it was bothering him. Well, I knew once he took that he would be sleepy. I got finished with the push mowing (got my steps in, yay) and came in to tell him. He was sound asleep on the couch so I just went and did the riding part, edged the driveway and sidewalks, and weedeated around the house.

I also mowed the biggest part of my nephew's yard next door. I did not do it to help his lazy behind, I did it to help my aunt. It was really thick after all the rain and it would have taken her a long time.

The only bad thing is I go so fast and somehow I lost my tooter. It is somewhere in the yard. I'll walk around tomorrow and see if I can find it. I have lots of tooters but I just hate to lose anything. I took my black one because I thought the white one might get dirty. Darn. I wish I'd taken the white one because it would have been easier to find. Oh well,

We had planned to go to the Moose Lodge tonight because they were having Chicken Alfredo. My cousin called again and offered me free tickets to see Brett Young and Sam Hunt at the Coliseum but Ken did not want to go. GRRR We had already made plans but darn it, plans could have changed. I told my cousin to ask again and if Ken was not interested in going, I would go with them.

I hate losing things and even more, I hate missing out on something fun that is FREE!

Supper was very good and we had enough left over to eat for supper tomorrow night. I love their salad bar and I fixed a nice big one. Amazing how much I can stack on a saucer. It is a gift.

There were two huge pieces of chicken so I only had enough room for part of one since I ate the whole salad. It will be great reheated tomorrow night and as a perk, I won't have to cook. WINNING!

Hope everyone has a great night's slumber. I think I might just do the Benydryl thing again since it helped last night. I should sleep but I may be too tired to get a good sleep.

Boy, I'm rather a ChattyRatty tonight!

    Morning, all.

Yesterday's rain mostly missed us, we'll see how it does today with the same guess... but at least some fresh snow high up!

The only bad thing is I go so fast and somehow I lost my tooter. It is somewhere in the yard.

Hope it's not in the grass catcher!

Nothing exciting happened at all today. Oh pooh. I need some excitement!!!!

The jellybeans are almost gone, thank goodness. I have eaten more in the past week than I have eaten in the last 5 years. What is up with that? I just have not been feeling my happy self lately and I think how I have been eating has something to do with that. I need to go back to eating like I was pre-relationship.

But did you find your missing mod? ;)
Heck no! I have gotten my walking in walking the yard and looking for it. I so hate losing anything, especially my tooter. It was black and matched my outfits so well. It had one of my new batteries in it too. I am worried that it will be hot and explode. I am always doing something silly. It is so hard to be ME!

I was really disappointed with the eclipse. We were not in the best viewing area anyway. I made the little projectors for us but Ken had an even better idea. My dad had replacement glass for his welding mask/helmet. It worked really well. It did get a tiny bit cooler and just a little darker. Nuttin' special.
