Our view of the eclipse was to start at 2:07 so I was sitting in a lawn chair with my eclipse glasses on waiting patiently and precicely at 2:07 a big dark cloud moved in to block the sun. Of course. We woke up to beautiful sunny skies and puffy clouds here and there that increased during the day, but we did get to see the eclipse in between clouds getting in the way. Actually, being on far eastern edge of the path of the eclipse I didn't expect to see much, but we actually saw about 90% coverage. Very cool!! The temperature change was pretty noticeable when a cloud covered the sun. It didn't get too dark here during the main part of the eclipse, just looked like the lighting of a very overcast day.

It's going to be 40+ years before an eclipse follows this path again in our area so I'm glad we got to see it this time. 2 of our neighbors did come out so we got to chat with them a bit.

All in all it was a pretty interesting day.

Heck no! I have gotten my walking in walking the yard and looking for it. I so hate losing anything, especially my tooter. It was black and matched my outfits so well. It had one of my new batteries in it too. I am worried that it will be hot and explode. I am always doing something silly. It is so hard to be ME! View attachment 1011112
Are you sure it's in the yard? Maybe you set it down when you were getting ready to mow? You're sure it's not in any of your pockets?

Old farts here can't keep up with @Rat2chat2 for walking. Seriously jealous!

My PT (knee) said to start at 1 level mile and gradually increase it. I've managed to get some walks in the past week and began adding distance. My hubby's PT (ankle & foot) just told him today that he can start taking walks again aiming for 1-2 miles. Today was beautiful, mid 60s, so I got out of work early and we got to take a 1.5 mile walk. It was really nice. We used to take long walks together all the time. Hopefully, we'll be able to go on longer ones as the weather improves (and our bodies too!)

More from @Bea-FL. She was shivering at the idea of taking a walk in shorts at 65deg., that's still cold by FL
standards. LOL! The first is in full bloom, but I like the little visitor hiding in the 2nd picture.

Wow, we got to 77 degrees today! The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Unfortunately I spent a good chunk of the day in grocery stores. Our local BJ's store has good prices, but they sure make it hard to find stuff.

We get these warm days and I get the itch to get some flowers and veggies planted. We could still dip into some frosty nights up until mid May so I gotta be careful.

Tomorrow the water company is coming to replace our water meter. Wonder if that's going to mess with our water bill.

Glad to hear you're getting the green light for your walks. I should get back on the treadmill. We finally got it cleaned and lubed and I keep saying I'll get on it tomorrow. I'm just full of good intentions.

Thanks for the pictures. My goodness, that orange color is gorgeous. And I love the little frog! How cute. I was cleaning out dead leaves from a hydrangea bush the other week and my fingers touched something squishy. Turned out to be a little toad! He didn't even hop away. They sure do blend in.

You know I did think about that and I still may find it somewhere. I do such crazy things.

I do walk a lot but it is more for my mental health than it is for my physical health. I wish my knees enjoyed it as much as I do.

I hate to admit this but I did not see it until I read your post.

Well, I did not get to mow my aunt's yard today because we had misty rain all morning long. I did not feel like doing it anyway with all the dampness.

I thought since it was so rainy that spaghetti would be good for supper and boy was I right! I mainly just wanted an easy meal and there is nothing easier than that. I always keep some frozen for the days I don't want to cook.

Hope everyone has a nice night. Off to read and maybe sleep.

Ditto for me! Durning the angst of my teenage years when upset, I'd put on my Converse sneakers and head out the door. Wandering the cemetery, where I ended up getting married (it had a beautiful field stone chapel with a pond behind it), was a favorite destination. I did a couple of the 25mile walk-a-thons for charity in those old sneakers that had no support and no cushioning with no discomfort the next day. I can't imagine doing that now!

I'm not going to complain about the incoming rain for the next couple of days and no walks. The general manager at work kindly shared his cold with me and a woman who is being induced tomorrow! I stayed home today. I didn't sleep well last night so it was nap time in the morning and another one in the afternoon! I'll find out if he had any other victims when I go in again.

It was another rainy morning but I still took my aunt to get her car inspected, then to the DMV to get the sticker and I even put it on for her. It was the first time I had ever driven her Subaru and it was a nice ride.

She also went to Aldi's with me because I needed to pick a few things up. Spent longer in there than I ever have because she was asking prices. She has a hard time seeing. I did not mind though. She had fun. It was funny when we got back to her house I was getting ready to leave and she said I know you don't like it but I just have to hug you. It is not that I do not like it, it's just that I am not used to it. I have gotten a lot better with it though.

Ken ate leftover spaghetti and I was good and ate a big salad. He still has enough left over for lunch tomorrow. I don't want to make him eat it 3 nights in a row.

We are supposed to have thunderstorms tomorrow and I even got an alert from my electric company regarding the chances of outages. We are supposed to have strong winds. I don't doubt it. My joints have been hurting all day. I still got in 8500 steps but it took me a bit longer. Finished my book and picked out a new one. I can't stand not to have one started.

Night to all and to all a good night. Happy Fri-Yay eve. Make it a great day.

Had my six-month check up yesterday .. the drive to and from to the VA was a bit brutal, with medium rain all day and a lot of semi-trucks throwing out clouds of water, along with the usual crowd of motorists driving like it's the Indy 500 ..

Other than an elevated level of potassium, everything looked good .. I don't quite understand the potassium thing, since I'm not living off a diet of bananas .. although my DR did mention it can be the result of a less than optimum needle poke during the blood draw ..

There is no particular reason for it, but check-up time always seems to induce a general feeling of anxiety in me, on top of the general feeling of anxiety and doom that I deal with on a daily basis .. so, when I walk out of the DR's office with, essentially, a clean bill of health, my Feng Shui is lifted for a time ..

At any rate, it does appear that I should be around for another six months ..

Good to hear! Yeah, the not knowing gets pretty angsty.

The good news is, from blood draw to DR meet, it's generally about 2.5 hours, so pretty well self contained ..

Some years back, when I had a cancer scare and required an MRI, the absolute worst was getting told 'We'll call if there is an issue' .. for weeks after the procedure, every damn time the phone rang, I jumped and my blood pressure escalated ..

The requirement should be 'We'll call and let you know one way of the other' ..
