Morning, all.

Claim is rain later on, but I think it's all going to be north of us. Maybe :) Might get up to 70, briefly.

while I was on the deck a hummer hovered and flitted about 12" from my head!

Must have been vaping honeysuckle ;)

Last week while I was on the deck a hummer hovered and flitted about 12" from my head! Made my day!
Long ago, when I was doing some backpacking, I had one of them about 12" from my head, with that needle like beak focused on my right eye, flying backwards to keep pace with me. Right about then, a small shotgun would have made my day.

We had a beautiful sunny day. I got out and did all the trim work and edging so I can do the mowing part the next or so. I even moved stuff around in the garage to make more room for the 2 motorcycles. This is perfect weather for riding. I will have to get several chauffeurs that can be on call for me.

I only have 1 definite and 1 truck driver who said he would call me when he passes through.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day. I wanted to go to the Moose because they had a band. I just didn't feel like getting dressed. Maybe next time.

Hope everyone sleeps well and has a wonderful day tomorrow.

Already had my shower and the coffee is making my day start out the right way. Wish I didn't have to ruin my mood by going to the doctor but, it is what it is!

It looks like it is going to be another beautiful day. Yay!

Enjoy yours.

I wonder if you were near its nest? Hard to find them because they're only a little bigger than a thimble. I've never felt threatened by them, they're very curious little birds. She might have just been checking you out. Maybe thought you were a weird kind of bear...

Today was going along just fine. Got some marigolds planted, got some more weeds pulled, harvested a bunch of lettuce, putzed around the house. Then 3/4 of the way through dinner one of my back teeth broke off. Arrrrrrrgh! How inconvenient. I really need to go for a manicure tomorrow. You can tell where my priorities lie.

Morning, loungers.

Said to be dry for a couple days. Still cool, below 70. We'll see...

Been there, done that .. I toyed with the idea of filing suit against Cheetos, for tooth repair and a lifetime supply of snacks .. maybe a little mental anguish .. my Lawyer said 'Willie, you have no proof it was a Cheeto .. the dust is gone and you ate the rest of the bag .. '

The air temp only got to the low 70's today with low humidity. So I took advantage of the weather to do some yard work.

Going, going, gone! There was an overgrown lilac bush that was beyond trimming to get it under control.

Plus there were two overgrown bushes on each end of the garage. They were higher than mid-way up the windows. These I whacked back significantly and they look it. But they're the kind of bush that will fill in again so they'll be fine.

Yard waste was much easier at the old house where I had enough property to have a permanent waste/mulch pile. I could just load up the trailer and dump it all there. This new house in a neighborhood requires bagging all the waste. Yuck!

Gorgeous day today! Going to 76 with "abundant sunshine".

Gotta run to the grocery store because we're picking the boys up from school and they'll have a sleepover since their parents were invited to a party. We'll need some extra milk and also some "ballpark snacks".

Phillies play tonight so we're wearing our Philies gear and will have hotdogs and fries and maybe some popcorn for dinner while we watch the game. Should be a fun Phillies night!

While I don't have photo proof as I thought it was fairly insignificant, I did much the same to a couple of crepe myrtles a week or so ago .. then, drilled several 1/2" holes into what was left at ground level and sprayed some Roundup into the holes ..

They won't be back

Gonna be another beautiful day here so I guess I'll be finishing up what we started yesterday. Our 2 grandsons (7 and 9 year olds) wanted to make some money so we went "rock picking" . We have a few large flowerbeds that the previous owner had edged with river rocks. Mike hates that because it makes it hard to mow up to the edges of the beds. So, we got to work putting the rocks in buckets and moving them to better placement in the yard. I was surprised how hard the boys worked, they really were a big help. Unfortunately our old bodies are pretty stiff after all that bending and getting up and down on the lawn. Think I need a mini crane. There's a lot of weeding to be done yet, but once we get things in shape we'll mulch like crazy.

We're picking up about 60 pachysandra plants today. We need them to plant on a slope that's dangerous to mow in the side yard. We've got our work cut out for us that's for sure, but it's good exercise right? That's what I keep telling myself.
