No, don't try to put it all back at once :) Although the brats and beer does sound enticing.

Never planned on bulking back up to 220 .. I was thinking I might try for 170, but now I'm just not going to sweat it ..

I will, however, maintain moderation and avoid outright gluttony .. (it's a 7 Deadly Sin, after all ..)

About 1:30 AM, I woke up with an incredibly bad case of acid reflux .. in fact, my throat felt like it was constricted to the point it was hard to breath and my heart rate was up .. I hit the ER just to be on the safe side ..
Yikes, that had to be scary.

As anyone may or may not remember, I began a weight loss journey a couple years ago and went from a robust 220 LBS / 6' frame down to now 163 LBS .. in fact, over last weekend, I began to feel like
Well, you’re doing better than me. I got from 210 to 175. My goal was 170, hoping to ‘stabalize’ around 175. Well instead of losin that next 5 pounds I’ve crept back up to 183 and can’t seem to find the will power to drop the weight.

Good morning. It's a beautiful morning here at 75 degrees going up to 90. They're calling for clouds and sunshine.

I dropped off the ribs at our son's house yesterday so he could start them smoking this morning. Turns out Miles was throwing up during the night so we're waiting to hear if this was just a 24 hour thing. I made potato salad and a bacon/ranch pasta salad and we'll have corn on the cob. If Miles is actually sick I'll just drop off the salads and pick up some ribs and we'll each eat at our own homes.

As anyone may or may not remember, I began a weight loss journey a couple years ago and went from a robust 220 LBS / 6' frame down to now 163 LBS .. in fact, over last weekend, I began to feel like my weight was getting alarmingly low .. just my natural paranoia kicking in, I'm sure .. my 6 months checkups have all been good ..

At any rate, I decided I needed to maybe put on a few pounds, so over the weekend, a couple friends and I hit our favorite Mexican eatery .. I indulged in a combo platter, a beer or three and practically had to be wheeled out due to 'overstuffed' status ..

About 1:30 AM, I woke up with an incredibly bad case of acid reflux .. in fact, my throat felt like it was constricted to the point it was hard to breath and my heart rate was up .. I hit the ER just to be on the safe side ..

Everything turned out OK .. Monday, I checked the BMI calculator on line and it showed me with a Normal weight range based on my height = 18.5–24.9 ..

So, I suppose my paranoia on losing too much weight was unfounded .. in fact, apparently, I could lose more and still be OK ..

Lesson learned .. you can't lose near 60 LBS in a couple years and expect to gain it back relatively quickly .. not that I'd want to, but still ..

What was I thinking .. ?? I honestly don't know ..

Brats / Beers and Bang Bang tomorrow .. (in moderation)
Wow, that had to be scary. I'm glad to hear it turned out ok.

While on our diets I've noticed that I can't eat as much as I used to either. The stomach might not actually shrink, but it sure feels that way. Try spreading out the eating over some time?

Morning, all.

If they got it right, which they do now and then, today's the day I roll out the AC. Nothing in the guess below high 80s for the next week.... and probably not much overnight cooling.

I guess the hoses will be happy for the attention.

If Miles is actually sick I'll just drop off the salads and pick up some ribs and we'll each eat at our own homes.

Hope it was just a brief illness and that he's better, but otherwise, good plan!

Dude...

If you want to pack on extra weight painlessly and immediately, here's a little secret...

Buy a really expensive pair of jeans, like $$$ jeans, in a skin tight size, 100% cotton fabric.
Wait 24-48 hours to wear them to a special event where these would be the essential element of your outfit.
Step into the first leg of the $$$ new jeans, and start doing the wiggly dance as you try to pull them up over your calf.
After the first leg is over your calf, realize that you will never clear your thighs, no matter how much wiggly dancing you do.
Congratulations! You have reached your goal!

Cancel your plans for the special event, and stumble to the kitchen with 1 leg still hopelessly stuck in the $$$ fancy jeans.
Grab a carton of ice cream out of the freezer and go park your hiney in the recliner and watch stupid stuff on the TV.

ps: I'm glad you are OK and nothing serious happened healthwise.

@DavidOck - say, I just went through a box of 'stashed' mods and found 1/2 dozen old iSticks with built in batts. They've been in hiding for at least a couple years. They all turned on except one and showed a low batt level. The one that didn't turn on wouldn't even show it was charging when plugged into a charger. That one will be disposed of.

The others all show 'charging' when plugged into the charger. But what's you opinion about putting them back into use. They've got to be at least 5 years old (or more) and I'm wondering if there's any risk using an old lithium battery. We don't need them, was just thinking if it's worth using them until they actually die or dispose of them because of the old internal batts.

I have put into service unused iStick TC 40's that are at least that old. I stocked up when they 1st came out, and was bad about charging them over the years. All but 1, so far, charged when put into my rotation, and work as well today as when they came out.

Nice, someone else blazed the trail before me. That's good to know, thanks. I forget which is which but some are tall and thin and others are about the size of the Provari Radius mod. I think the tall thin ones are the TC 40's.

We also have some short stubby iSticks that use 18650 batts. I tested them today and all turn on OK.

If they take a charge and act normal, they should be ok.

Likely the one that won't turn on self-discharged below the cut-off, so, yeah, into the bin.
hmmm, that one did light up and show the battery charging after being plugged in for about 15-20 seconds. I left it alone and it went to full charge. A couple we already put into circulation. The others I'll let rest and check their batt level in a couple-few days. Most likely they'll hold a charge but until put into use won't know how long the batt lasts under load.

Mine are just over 3 inches tall, and are perfect for pocket carry/concealment.

So maybe was just a tad over that ultra-low "dead" state. Yes, you won't really know the state of the battery until using under load, but worth a shot :)

High temps continue, still talking about that going on for a week. MAY drop below 90 next Thursday... and of course that's so far away, for the guessers, that who knows...

But so far still cooling down overnight, so able to pull that inside until the heat shows up.

Good morning. Going to 93 here today, but the humidity is down to 51 so it won't feel so much like a sauna outside. Yesterday I went out to fuss with the garden and after 1/2 hour just wanted to come back inside. It was nasty out there.

Funny thing, I've got some grow bags that I use to plant potatoes in. Since we got started so late this year I figured there wasn't much point in planting the potatoes because I read that they don't do well in hot weather. I found a couple potatoes in the drawer that had little sprouts on them so I figured what the heck and planted them anyway. Son-of-a-gun, they're growing! Maybe they'll just produce little potatoes, but we'll see.

I'd posted a link to make beautiful resin coasters so we stopped at Hobby Lobby and got most of the supplies. Later at the super market I was going to pick up canning jar lids - Geez Louise! They wanted $12 for a box of 3 of them!! That's just for the 2-piece lids, no jars included. I know it's been many years since I've canned anything, but good grief. It used to be a cheap way to store food.

Or maybe just the wrong place to get them?
You're right. I used to get them at the supermarket, but looks like Amazon has the best deal on them now. Found them there for $10 for 12 of them so they're in my cart.
