Hubby is in getting his cataract surgery and I'm in the waiting room freezing even though I have a turtleneck, sweat shirt and heavy leather jacket on.
He should be out in about a half hour
We got home about 2:30 and he doing quite well. He says it feels like something is in his eye, which is a normal reaction........The doctor told him what he can't do knowing how active he normally is......him not happy, but will have to be content to spend some days just being plain ole lazy! :) Oy, il mio bambino povero!

Ok got a question. I want to use one of my Provaris and I forget how you adjust the power on them? I can't remember. this is a V2.5
Click until the screen goes on. The first mode is power up. Pause, see where you are. If you want more, click again quick. If you have too much, wait, repeat until you get into mode two, which is power down. Pause, click if you want less. I always keep them on 2.8, in coordination with the optimum for my nemmys.

Some years back, I think around the early 2000's, I decided to digitize my slides and film .. it was a time consuming project and I never finished it .. a few months back, I broke out my old film / slide scanner and it was so glitchy, I gave up .. (I've never understood how some things that worked perfectly when you put them away, and then, years later, they suddenly don't work right .. o_O) ..

Anyway, I decided last week to take a look at some of the old digitized photos and came to the quick realization that the tech I was using back in the day was really sub-par .. all the slides / negatives I had worked on were very low resolution / grainy .. so, I bought a used state of the art unit and have been working with it the last few days, teaching myself it's best workflow .. doing a slide or negative at 9600DPI results in some large files, yet is able to really bring out the details .. :)

You know this is leading up to something .. ;) .. here is a couple of reduced size conversions .. :)

Thanks, figured I'd get a faster answer here. Sometimes the FP is kinda slow.

My Gdaughter took all my old slides my folks took and took them to a place and they did them all about 150 I think they were available online in a couple days and sent me discs with them also. Think it was around 30-40 dollars.

Yeah, I looked into commercial outfits .. they were just not willing to offer a high resolution scan at less than about $2.00 per slide / negative .. they pretty much produced just scans that would be Internet ready .. I wanted the best quality possible .. my files are averaging around 24 megapixels in digital camera equivalent, and that should be near equivalent to a 35mm original slide / negative .. 6-8 megabytes each JPG and a much larger RAW .. which should comfortably print a 16 x 20, or possibly larger, print ..

Wow pretty high quality stuff. These were just taken on an old argus camera my dad had. Still good for the memories tho.

But which eye is supposed to be closed while you're madly punching that one button?? :)

Hey I almost forgot there is a scam on FB called the Treasure Grant. If you get any messages from friends you don't really know that well saying, God has been so good to us recently, Have you heard? Oh you haven't heard of the Treasure Grant your name was listed. Send you to a site to fill out an app for your share of the govt money I guess then it apparently asks you for $199 to complete the app submission. I didn't get that far, as soon as it was mentioned I googled it and it was all there so I unfriended that person.

Ron Jeremy actually posted something. I was crazy one day and added him to my friend list. First I've heard from him since that day, he was a heart patient. But what he is really known for is he is really big in the porn industry as a star in who knows how many of them. Kind of a pervert as far as I could tell but touched bases with him when he had a ruptured aorta. Weird huh? He was in many of the really well known ones, don't know what they are but a lot, played usually an overweight, really hairy, well endowed dufus. I've seen 2 in my younger years and he was in both. Google him hahaha
