Sunny Florida! U.S.A.
Time for the espresso to kick in! :thumb: Yet another beautiful day here in paradise! (...or so them weather folks say.), so it's good to be breathing! :) Perhaps some gardening today. Big day tomorrow... cards were bought, signed and sealed! :mail:

I'd like to share a bit of my yesterday... I had my daughter in-law and two grandson's visit this old man yesterday... now true, the distance and my health issues have made this very hard to do, but with Mother's Day just around the corner... but I digress. ;)

They just wanted to spend the day in the country!! Breathe some fresh air, stretch their legs!!
...speaking of legs... it seems they both had a growth spurt. The two boy's tower over me! They look like collegiate aged football players 6' 1" each if I haven't shrunk that much. Now... for the kicker... they are only 15 and 17 years old!!!! OMG! Whatever do they feed those "Boys"?! :?:

(Truth be told I have a sibling 6' 5" a niece 6' 2" most of my children are at least 6' 1")

Even the youngest child asked me a few years back. "How come I'm turning 40 years old this year Dad??!!"...I just smiled. (We had that talk many, many, many... years ago.)

Have a great Saturday folks! ;)

Good morning everyone and Happy Mother's Day!

It's a beautiful morning here. I no sooner had the suet in the feeder and the birds and squirrels were flocking around it. It was kinda tricky trying to chase the squirrels without also chasing the birds. There seems to be 2 pair of Bluebirds hanging around, so nice!

I hope everyone has a lovely Mother's Day!!

Could I consult with you on choice of a TV? I have a 19 inch TV I got for real cheap, and I am frustrated with the small CC, the lack of emotional oomph of a large screen, and it would be nice for Tippy to be able to watch doggie TV. I have perfectly adequate antenna signal. I am frustrated with the Amazon prime tv shows on my laptop, again with a 19 inch screen. I refuse to ask my cable provider for cable tv, internet is fine. I am looking at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B..._title_oth_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Remember that I have limited means, and need to squirrel away a reserve for if Tippy gets sick. What do you think of that one? Or can you suggest something better?

Looks good, heard that they are popular and decent. Wanted to comment on the CC issue mostly - did you already maximize the size and still small? Most are adjustable.

Yes, on a small screen, even if I could get it large enough to read from across my small living room, it would then interfere with seeing enough of the picture. Apparently, the audio can go to your phone, then from your phone to your Bluetooth devices, which for me would be my hearing aids. In which case, CC might not be necessary.

    Good morning Mary.

Sorry, I don't know anything about TVs. I usually go to a store that has a lot of them set up and look at the picture quality and price and ask one of the sales people. It's also good to check out the reviews online, however that didn't help with our refrigerator. It seems there is a common problem with this Samsung that wasn't mentioned. It could have easily been fixed, but the whole flu thing messed that up because repair people wouldn't come out. We will never get a warranty by Geek Squad for appliances again. Back in January, way before the quarantine, they had pathetic to non-existent customer service.

    @3mg Meniere . . .

Usually I purchase most of "My" Electronics at major stores, like Best buy that offer & have Open Box Items available for sale anywhere from 10% to 50% off. The last item was a Samsung 32" Smart TV 1080p (higher resolution then a 720) for approximately $150.00 (New $378.) a few years ago; also got a Samsung Sound Bar for $98.00 (was $279.00), and at another time got a Samsung Smart Blueray DVD Player (Like a Smart TV ) for $49.99 (was $99.99). As "You" can see, more often then not I favor Samsung products, especially since they last a long time me . . . .

Since I don't know where you live exactly - however, I checked out the National Best Buy Website to see what they had available in the Open Box area and found this one - "As Low as $120.00":

    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...ries-1080p-smart-hdtv/6202106.p?skuId=6202106

From what I read, Best Buy has open the store for customers - by appointment (Personal sales person assigned to you) - if you want to look at the TV's and then make a choice .. Or if you find a TV you want to order online - you can either have it shipped to your door or arrange for pick-up.

    Hope this information is helpful . . . ;)

(BTW: If I can be of any other assistance send me a PM and I'll see what I can do . . . ;-D )

    OH YEA - Good Morning Everyone . . .

Not much else to talk about, except to say I am still going through a slight conflict how I feel about BD on the 4th /Death on the 6th that happened last week . . .

BTW: Had Covid-19 test on Saturday, although very few people there (more tech people there then "clients"), so everything went fast. In & Out, within 10-15 mins. However, the actual TEST - NOT NICE - experience at all. More then just discomfort as was explained by the tech's, especially since the "Kid" taking the test was digging (and I do mean DIGGING) around nostril (which was dry). Finally, got him to stop (actually SCREAMMED 3x's to Stop). Then a supervisor came over and offered swapping my mouth instead. SO - Even though I am showing no signs of being attacked by Covid-19, I will find out in 2-5 days the result of the test.

    Well That's All - Later . . . :D

Actually, since I "hit" all qualifier's & risk factors of being susceptible - Over 65/Diabetic/COPD-Asmtha-Allergies/Heart/excreta - and can acquirer COVID-19 more easily, Primary Doctor wanted "Me" to get the test although I showed no systems at all . . . As for the dry nose - many allergies and I also use a oxygen at night - so no "mucus" unless I am having an allergy attack . . .

    Just Sayin' . . .

We've had a different TCL model for a couple years, although 1080. No problems. Ours connects to our WIFI, so streaming is available, and IF you want, there are of course many pay streams, and of course a lot of free as well. The 1080 (on the same page) at about $20 more, might be worthwhile if you can go there.

    And, uh, happy Monday?
