Maybe because I am there with you? Nothing like 70's music! I too love all kinds of music and in my late teens my friends just couldn't comprehend how I could love disco.... but it is HAPPY music and I find it hard to sit still when it is playing. Besides, I always loved to dance....

I was in the "disco sucks" crowd back in the day. However, I have to admit that everything is relative. And, tastes change too. Compared to RAP/Hip Hop ... disco wasn't really THAT bad, LOL. Actually, I kind of enjoyed the orchestration in some of the songs. And there were real classics from the era, such as Diana Ross's Love Hangover.

And, SUPER crap, like Disco Duck, and Fly Robin Fly. The real junk of disco still hasn't redeemed itself in my eyes, LOL.

I sincerely hope that the next Pop wave to come along isn't so horrible as to make RAP sound good to me, in comparison.

I'm a big fan of Classic Pop & Rock of the 1960s & 70s ... and to some degree into the 1980s. Since then, some great songs have come around, but fewer and further between. Just my personal view & taste. Everybody is different. I am eclectic in my tastes too. Pop/Rock/Country/Motown/Soul/Rhythmic Jazz. It's all good (yuck I hate that expression).

PS ... I can't sing, and I can't dance. I've attempted to dance a couple of times, when I was too drunk to dance.

My HS boyfriend would have said the same. He couldn't understand it then, can't understand it now lol. I just like most everything.... while you were writing your post I was off listenin' to/watchin' Soulja Boy...
