I especially liked the episode about the medic at the Battle of the Bulge. It really caught my attention, because my uncle was a medic and was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge.Ugh...there's the other tear jerker!!
That one's moving too!!![]()

I take it that you ladies have never seen the Band of Brothers, miniseries. LOL

Me neither, enough sadness in the RW...
Besides, if I wanted a good cry, I'd just put on a Mozart slow piece like this.
I'm not coming on the thread, until Sea shows up.![]()
I love this piece -- so soothing to me....
There she is !!!!! I love that avi Sea. I'm glad to hear that you are in pre-vets.I'm over in pre-vets, Jerry.
Jerry - I have never watched it. I tried watching Saving Private Ryan and threw up at the beginning when that guy's arm got blown off and then he picked it up and was walking around with it. I cannot watch things that involve humans hurting other humans -- I just lose it - literally. Stupid scary movies that I know aren't real? Yes. Human torture movies? Cannibal movies? No way Jose. Uh Uh, not this girl....
Sun, I'm with you on movie limits....Blow 'em up action...fine, i know it's not real...but too much reality, people harming people or animals, i just can't do it.
I'm fading y'all. Have a great rest of the night and I'll see you tomorrow
(((hugs)))
I've just gotta say, "ho ho ho, hee hee hee, ha ha ha."
I don'tknow why. I just had to say that.
Fortunately, I never saw combat, Sun. But my understanding is that Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers were true representations of what war is really like. My uncle was hit with shrapnel from German 88mm artillery fire. Years later, he showed me his scar and it wasn't pretty.
Catching the drift of the conversation when I busted open the doors. I agree. Basically, I don't do the action genre for the reasons some have elaborated on. My favorite all time is Carl Sagan's "contact". violence, yes, portrayed in a negative light and not the overwhelming theme of the movie, nor the book.
Sorry. Hi folks!Aloha NCC!
Hey, how about a hello first before you get too happy!![]()
You don't recall the religious fanatic who destroyed the originial machine? There was violence in Contact? Are you talking about the alien machine blowing up or something else?
