Thanks VG. I got a couple that Scott made from the Reo group though.

DH used the oldest one to check out the car battery.

This one is made for 4.2V Max Li-Ion/Li-Mn batteries and pulls less than 6 Watts (5.88W Max). A 12V Car Battery would make this one pull 48 Watts and blow this puppy up.

Good evening :)

VG, what is the advantage of your battery tester over using a DMM? I've been checking my batteries with a DMM, and I'm using an Efest LUC charger with a digital screen.... Of course, I hadn't used either one of those prior to vaping so it's new technology for me :)

EDIT: Sorry for the early snow, but I hope it's at least pretty....

    Good evening Dale.

I look at it as a learning experience :) I've learned a lot on this forum, and not all of it technical :thumb:
I don't want to force that on anyone else, though :D

 I didn't mean ya'll couldn't talk about it!
I just don't know what any of it means

    Carry on ....

EDIT: Sorry for the early snow, but I hope it's at least pretty....

This Battery Tester gives and indication of the "Newness" or "Usable Life" left in the battery. As a Li-Ion/LiMn battery ages from the Charge/Use cycles, the Internal Resistance changes going Upward. As it gets higher, there's less and less "Use per Charge," as I understand it. If you think your batteries are getting old, this Tester shows actual evidence of that.

The thing that's best to do with this Tester is to test a battery from brand new, and then test it and all of the others you have periodically, all at the same time. The Spreadsheet I made will let you watch and track changes, and know when to replace a battery before it can become dangerous.

You asked, "what is the advantage of your battery tester over using a DMM?" You use a DMM with this tester. They are two different types of devices. This Tester puts a battery under a load when you flip the switch, like your PV does. The DMM, when set to a proper Voltage scale, reads the Voltage of the battery before and after being loaded. The change in Voltage, the Voltage Drop under load, is what happens to the battery when in situations like when the PV Vape Button is pressed - the battery is under a load. It's is quite common in electronics for the Supply Voltage from a battery to drop when the circuit is turned On. This is a test of how much it drops. The calculation reveals the overall battery condition.

Checking your battery Voltage when taken off charge is a good thing. When taken out of the charger and metered with a DMM, they should never be Over 4.2V. Even 4.02V can hurt the overall life of a lithium-based battery. If you let them rest and cool before metering, they should be slightly less than 4.2V, at about 4.18V. Finding 4.18-4.19V when taken directly off the charger would be ideal. You'll never miss that 0.02V, but it will greatly increase your Charge/Use cycles.

If your charger has a built-in meter, then I guess that's a good thing, but checking the battery Voltage while charging, and after charging, has nothing to do with how well it will perform in your PV. This Tester gives you that indication.

Good evening Beach Studs and Dolls!:)

I heard from PHR today. He didn't know he had a 4-year vet anniversary, so ho hum.

PHR is an awesome dude, so I want to leave him a little something anyway to acknowledge his 4 years here and in lifting all our spirits with his freaky poetry. I know he'll see it b/c he never misses a thing.;)

    You have snow Lisa?!?

JJ? How is your headache? Gone I hope :)

    Evening VG and whoever :)

It's a sinus headache. A little Clariton (generic version) got it down to a dull ache.

To save almost $24 dollars on shipping, I signed up for a two day trial of Prime. I'm now going through ebooks that are free because of it. :evil grin:

I know I'll regret this ... but why would the battery become more dangerous? :?:

I knew that part :thumb: I just mean that I only really talk about the tech stuff as part of the conversation, not generally one I start :)

Thanks for the explanation VG :) That is definitely a lot to chew on.
