Good Thanksgiving afternoon beach hunks:wub: and dolls!

Am rushing around to go to DD's for the day. I think I'll leave earlier than I had planned since she has already called me 4 times to ask how to cook turkey, how many hours, cover with foil?, is red wine okay b/c that's all she has, does she need to put something on the turkey hide before cooking, etc. And she continues to text me.

She declined me bringing anything except a little brown sugar, electric knife, and some apple juice for the guests who don't drink wine.

Hope all my Beach friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!:)

Good Thanksgiving evening to you all......We drove down and visited my sister today and just got home a couple of hours ago. I have a house full of company, but dinner is done and cleaned up. Then tomorrow picking up my other sister from the train station and heading on down to visit my sister in the rehab center again. Then coming home and starting cooking tomorrow for our Saturday main Thanksgiving dinner in the evening. Sorry, I have not been ignoring you....it is very hard to get to the computer when family is here, and we are doing so much driving.

So this is just a fly by to let you know I am thinking of you and plan on being back to post regularly on Sunday when all the company goes home.

Hope your turkey was moist and your mashed potatoes were creamy. :)

Hello Beach Babes and Buddies. :)

Just got home a little while ago. Too many posts to reply to. I had a great day. The food was great (but no mashed potatoes, Glam :(). I had two plates, waited a while, and then had some chocolate pie. :D Then I went out to gather more fire wood, as all that was there was for the bon fire was mostly only twigs, even though it was a rather large pile, stacked pretty high. I found some nice branches in the neighborhood and brought them to the bon fire area in a wheel barrow. My youngest sister's hubby (Jay) is much better at this than me, and if he had these branches I gathered when he piled it, it would have been stacked better. But I didn't rebuild it. I went in and had some pumpkin pie. :D It's been in the low 30's all day, so I needed to warm up.

I went to get everyone to come out, so they told me to go ahead an light it. I did so with the help of my youngest sister's youngest daughter. She's 8 yo. We stuffed dead pine needles in at several places around it, then stuffed a paper towel into that, and lit the paper towels. It blazed right away, but being twigs, I was afraid it would go out before everyone got outside. However, they came out pretty quick, and with the extra branches I had to pile on top, I was able to keep it going nicely for about an hour. No blazing bon fire, like past years, but a lot of the wood was wet, so it was a nice campfire flame kind of fire... good enough for marshmallows and smores.

Normally, Jay and John (my oldest sister's hubby) do most of the gathering and stacking without telling anyone. Jay usually has a good start on it before we get there, but John had to leave early this year to tend to a problem that arose (nothing serious). John and Jay are master fire builders and tenders from being campers and always having a fireplace in their homes, so I usually just help keep it going some, poking and prodding, adding the occasional branch, but this year I got to light it and do all of the tending. Since John had to leave early, my oldest sister stayed and we rode home with her daughter's family, so I got to stay late, and she got to enjoy the bon fire this year, too. Oh, before we left, I had another piece of chocolate pie. :D

I thought of you, but I didn't stop long enough to turn on the laptop. I had a really wonderful day. I hope you all did, too. :thumb:

Black Friday?!!! Not me. Maybe one day, but I've never been to one yet. :)
