Guess I'm not as dumb as I thought I was! The worst part was getting photobucket to quit spinning my hour glass so I could copy the link! I've got to get a new computer soon... I can't hardly stand this waiting stuff all the time!

Wish I could play all day.. but it's my Monday and have to go get ready to work :( Have a good day beach kids! :)

Love the pic of your little ones, Mixxy. One problem though, today is Tuesday, not Monday. Hope you didn't miss a day of work yesterday thinking it was Sunday.

Good morning, Beach!:) Hope everyone stays warm. Just got off the weather channel, and it looks so wet and snowy up there.

I saw the pretty pic Lisa posted of the birds in a snowy tree ... wonder if that means she got snow.

Good Afternoon, Beachers.....Yes, Sea...we have snow, AND MUCH COLD!!! Sunny but frigid today.

Thanks for the beautiful rendition of that song, jj. Celine is one of my favs.

Tree looks beautiful, Tink:wub:....real photos when it is installed, please.

I spent the morning reading about the legend of Our Lady of Guadalupe...since she supposedly appeared on Dec. 9, 1531, she was in the news yesterday. Unfortunately, like many religious myths/legends, it seems it is a man-made legend. And of course, backed by the church to keep those monies coming in. :?:

I opened the door and let Hellraiser out, thinking with the snow and the cold, he would appreciate our generosity in giving him a home. Wrong!! He took off....loving the snow. Playing and jumping. I had to get out the treat bottle and shake it to get him to come back in. He just ain't right!

Now I must get serious about the day.....need to finish my house chores, just so I can start them all over again tomorrow. And going to exercise....even tho I do not want to go out there.

Hi Glam :)

Some animals really love to play in the snow.

Have fun.....I know you will.

Serious question. I don't want to know which you would choose but would like know how you interpret the following options. They are on the POA

1
I do not want my life to be prolonged nor do I want life-sustaining treatment to be provided or continued if my agent believes the burdens of the treatment outweigh the expected benefits. I want my agent to consider the relief of suffering, the expense involved and the quality as well as the possible extension of my life in making decisions concerning life-sustaining treatment.

2
I want my life to be prolonged and I want life-sustaining treatment to be provided or continued, unless I am, in the opinion of my attending physician, in accordance with reasonable medical standards at the time of reference, in a state of “permanent unconsciousness” or suffer from an “incurable or irreversible condition” or “terminal condition”, as those terms are defined in Section 4-4 of the Illinois Power of Attorney Act. If and when I am in any one of these states or conditions, I want life-sustaining treatment to be withheld or discontinued.

Jeeze, jj. That is a toughie. We were asked that for my sister. And we did have a "Do Not Resuscitate" band put on her....but then when she did not quit breathing, we all opted for a feeding tube....I think I would opt for #2. My mom was given life support for a few hours, and we had her for 6 more years...good years too. My sister made the decision to resuscitate her and it was worth it. Each situation has to be considered.

Hi jj. :) I hope you don't mind if I chime in....... I have a little experience in this area, although I see the conditions and wording are a little different in Ohio than in Illinois.

What I'm reading is that in #1, the decision is being made by the designated POA (agent), whereas in #2 you are legally adding to that the opinion of one doctor. With #1, the agent can interpret whatever the health care professional (or professionals, plural) say in a way they think the person would like. So, the first option allows for much more flexibility relating to the circumstances.......but the agent should be very clear on your intentions in advance and be able to be trusted to carry them out.

Edit: Plainly, with the first option, one can reduce suffering that he/she otherwise might have to "live" with if the second option was chosen......For however long.
